class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-1.htm"><b>1</b></a></span>Children, obey your parents in <i>the</i> Lord, for this is right. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-2.htm"><b>2</b></a></span>“Honor your Father and mother,” which is <i>the</i> first commandment with a promise, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>“that it may be well with you and you will be long-lived upon the earth.”<span class="fn"><a href="#fna" title="Deuteronomy 5:16">a</a></span> </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>And fathers, do not provoke your children, but bring them up in <i>the</i> discipline and admonition of <i>the</i> Lord. </p><p class="hdg">Slaves and Masters<br /><span class="cross">(1 Timothy 6:1-2)</span></p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>Slaves, obey the earthly masters with fear and trembling, in sincerity of your heart as to Christ, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>not with eye-service as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from <i>the</i> heart, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>rendering service with good will as to the Lord and not to men, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>knowing that each one, whatever good he might have done, this he will receive <i>back</i> from <i>the</i> Lord, whether <i>he is</i> slave or free. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>And masters do the same things toward them, giving up threatening, knowing that also their master and yours is in <i>the</i> heavens, and there is no partiality with Him. </p><p class="hdg">The Armor of God</p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>Henceforth be empowered in <i>the</i> Lord and in the strength of His might. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>Put on the complete armor of God, for you to be able to stand against the schemes of the devil, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>because to us the wrestling is not against blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against the spiritual <i>forces</i> of evil in the heavenly realms. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>Because of this, take up the complete armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all things, to stand. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>and having shod the feet with <i>the</i> readiness of the gospel of peace; <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>besides all, having taken up the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is <i>the</i> word of God, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>through all prayer and supplication, praying in <i>the</i> Spirit in every season and unto this very thing, watching with all perseverance and supplication for all saints, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>and also for me, that in <i>the</i> opening of my mouth, divine utterance may be given to me to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>for which I am an ambassador in a chain, that in it I may be bold, as it behooves me to speak. </p><p class="hdg">Final Greetings</p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>And that you also may know the things concerning me, what I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful servant in <i>the</i> Lord, will make known to you all things, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, that you may know the things concerning us, and he may encourage your hearts. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/6-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>Peace to the brothers and love with faith from God <i>the</i> Father and <i>the</i> Lord Jesus Christ. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a
