What do young people make of it all? </p><p class="yz87w0odxciwb6750"> </p><p class="yz87w0odxciwb6750">In the ECF-supported project ‘Divided God’, young people from several countries carried out a video investigation of this burning issue in the cities of the Balkans and Southern and Central Europe. Their impressive and (in some cases) prize-winning documentaries illuminate many religious-influenced aspects of urban life: from the controversy over the wearing of head scarves at Turkish Universities to divisions at a high school in post-war Mostar. </p><p class="yz87w0odxciwb6750"> </p><p class="yz87w0odxciwb6750">There is dramatic footage – a riot in Berlin, a daring jump from Mostar’s famous bridge – as well as searingly direct interviews with Christian and Muslim religious leaders living abroad.</p><p class="yz87w0odxciwb6750"> </p><p class="yz87w0odxciwb6750">A DVD was made containing all the work produced by the Divided God project. Screenings were held at a final conference in Ljubljana, as well as lectures by philosophers, theologians, anthropologists, artists and the young filmmakers themselves.
