Behold those who wear soft things are in the house of the King.” <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/11-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>“Otherwise what did you go out to see? A Prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a Prophet.”<p> <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/11-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>“For this is he about whom it is written: 'Behold, I am sending my messenger before your presence that he may prepare the road before you.' “<p> <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/11-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>“Amen, I say to you, that among them born of women there has not arisen a greater than Yohannan The Baptizer, but a little one in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.” <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/11-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>“From the days of Yohannan The Baptizer until this hour the Kingdom of Heaven is led by force and the violent are seizing it.” <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/11-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>“All The Prophets and The Written Law have prophesied until Yohannan. <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/11-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And if you will, he is Elijah who was to come. <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/11-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>Whoever has an ear to hear, let him hear.<p> <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/11-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>But to what shall I liken this generation? It is like children sitting in the street and calling their playmates, <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/11-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>And saying, 'We sang to you, and you did not dance, and we cried for you, and you were not sad.' <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/11-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>For Yohannan came who ate nothing and drank nothing, and they said: 'He has a demon.' <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/11-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>The Son of Man came eating and drinking and they said, 'Behold the man is a glutton and a wine drinker, a friend of Tax Collectors and of sinners.'
