Deze studie onderzoekt de factoriële en convergente validiteit van de RPQ bij lagereschoolkinderen met ernstige emotionele of gedragsproblemen. Ouders en leerkrachten van 152 kinderen tussen 6 en 10 jaar oud uit 21 scholen voor buitengewoon onderwijs vulden de RPQ en de Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) in. Tijdens een huisbezoek namen de ouders van 77 kinderen eveneens deel aan een interview over verstoord gehechtheidsgedrag en werd het kindgedrag geobserveerd. Zowel de structuur als de betekenis van de RPQ-schalen, geremd en ongeremd gedrag, was hetzelfde voor ouders en leerkrachten.
