you are blessed in the field.<p> <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-4.htm#aramaic"><b>4</b></a></span>Blessed is the fruit of your body and the fruit of your land and the offspring of your animals and the herds of your oxen and the flocks of your sheep.<p> <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>Blessed is your basket and your kneading trough.<p> <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>You are blessed in your coming in, you are blessed in your going out.<p> <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH shall hand over your enemies who rise up against you; when defeated before you, they shall come out on one road against you, and by our seven roads they shall flee from before you. <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>LORD JEHOVAH shall command blessing in your barns and in everything to which you reach your hand, and he shall bless you in the land that LORD JEHOVAH your God gives to you. <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>LORD JEHOVAH shall establish you to himself, the holy people, as He swore to you, if you will keep all of the commandments of LORD JEHOVAH your God, and you will walk in his ways. <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And all of the nations of Earth shall see that the name of LORD JEHOVAH is called upon you and they shall be in awe of you. <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH shall enrich you for good in the fruit of your body and in the offspring of your livestock and in the fruit of your land, in the land that LORD JEHOVAH swore to your fathers to give to you. <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>LORD JEHOVAH shall open to you his good storehouse of Heaven and he shall give the rain of your land in its time and he shall bless all of the works of your hands; you shall lend to many nations and you shall not borrow, and you shall have authority among many nations and they shall not have power with you. <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>LORD JEHOVAH shall make you the head and not the tail, and you shall be above and you shall not be beneath, when you will listen to the commandments of LORD JEHOVAH your God that I command you today, and you keep and do them: <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And you shall not turn aside from all of the commandments that I command to you today, not to the right and not to the left, and you shall not go after the gods of the Gentiles and serve them.<p> <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And if you will not hear the voice of LORD JEHOVAH your God and you do not keep and do all of his commandments and his laws that I command you today, all these curses shall come upon you, and they shall overtake you:<p> <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>You are cursed in the city, you are cursed in the field.<p> <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>Cursed is your basket and your kneading trough.<p> <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>Cursed is the fruit of your body and the fruit of your land and the herds of your oxen and the flocks of your sheep.<p> <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>You are cursed in your coming in, you are cursed in your going out.<p> <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>LORD JEHOVAH shall send upon you ruin and chaos and rebuke in everything which you reach your hand to do, until He will destroy you and until He will end you quickly, because of the wickedness of your works, because you have forsaken me. <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>LORD JEHOVAH shall send a plague upon you until He shall destroy you from the land that you enter there to inherit. <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>LORD JEHOVAH shall strike you with shock and with scab and with burning and with burning fever and with jaundice and with sword and by wind of parching heat, and they shall pursue you until they destroy you. <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And the Heavens above your head shall be brass and Earth under you, iron. <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>LORD JEHOVAH shall give the rain of your land, sand, and dust from Heaven shall come down upon you until He will destroy you.<p> <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>LORD JEHOVAH shall break you before your enemies; on one road you shall go out against them and on our seven roads you will run from before them and you shall be a horror to all the Kingdoms of Earth. <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>And your corpse shall be food for birds of the sky and for the beasts of Earth and there is no one to chase them away.<p> <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>LORD JEHOVAH shall strike you with the abscesses of the Egyptians and with hemorrhoids and with leprosy and with wasting away, so that you cannot be healed. <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>LORD JEHOVAH shall strike you with darkness and with blindness and with astonishment of heart: <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>And you will be groping at noonday as he who gropes blind in the darkness, and you shall not go up your road ahead; you shall be taken by force and oppressed all of your days and there shall be no one who saves you. <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-30.htm#aramaic"><b>30</b></a></span>You will be engaged to a woman and another man will take her; you will build a house and you will not live in it; you will plant a vineyard and you shall not press out from it. <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-31.htm#aramaic"><b>31</b></a></span>Your ox will be slaughtered before you and you will not eat of it, and your donkey will be taken captive from you by force and will not return to you; your sheep will be handed over to your enemies and there is none who will save it. <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-32.htm#aramaic"><b>32</b></a></span>Your sons and your daughters will be given up to another people and your eyes will see and you will grieve for them all day, and you will not have enough in your hands. <A name="34"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-33.htm#aramaic"><b>33</b></a></span>The fruit of the land and a people that you do not know will eat all your labors, and you will be oppressed and afflicted all of your days. <A name="35"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-34.htm#aramaic"><b>34</b></a></span>And you will be blind from the vision of your eyes that you saw. <A name="36"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-35.htm#aramaic"><b>35</b></a></span>LORD JEHOVAH shall strike you with evil abscesses on your knees and on your legs so that you cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot and unto your brain. <A name="37"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-36.htm#aramaic"><b>36</b></a></span>LORD JEHOVAH shall lead you and your King whom you set up over you to a people whom you have not known, you and your fathers, and you shall work there for other gods of wood and of stone. <A name="38"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-37.htm#aramaic"><b>37</b></a></span>And you shall be a horror and a proverb and a mockery in all the nations where LORD JEHOVAH shall scatter you.<p> <A name="39"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-38.htm#aramaic"><b>38</b></a></span>You shall send out much seed in your field and you shall gather little because locusts will eat it. <A name="40"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-39.htm#aramaic"><b>39</b></a></span>You will plant a vineyard and you will cultivate and you will not drink wine, and you will not gather because a worm eats it. <A name="41"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-40.htm#aramaic"><b>40</b></a></span>Olive trees shall be yours in all your borders and you will not anoint with oil, because your olives will fall off. <A name="42"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-41.htm#aramaic"><b>41</b></a></span>You shall beget sons and daughters and they shall not be yours, because they shall depart into captivity. <A name="43"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-42.htm#aramaic"><b>42</b></a></span>The locust shall eat all of your trees and the fruit of your land. <A name="44"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-43.htm#aramaic"><b>43</b></a></span>And the settler who is in you shall be exalted high over you and you shall go down under. <A name="45"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-44.htm#aramaic"><b>44</b></a></span>He shall lend to you and you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head and you shall be the tail.<p> <A name="46"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-45.htm#aramaic"><b>45</b></a></span>All these curses shall come upon you and shall overtake you and shall pursue you until they destroy you, because you have not listened to the voice of LORD JEHOVAH your God and you have not kept his commandments and his laws that He commanded you: <A name="47"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-46.htm#aramaic"><b>46</b></a></span>And they shall be signs and wonders among you and among your seed forever.<p> <A name="48"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-47.htm#aramaic"><b>47</b></a></span>Because you did not work for LORD JEHOVAH your God in joy and in goodness of heart from the abundance of everything; <A name="49"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-48.htm#aramaic"><b>48</b></a></span>And you shall work for your enemies whom LORD JEHOVAH shall send upon you, in hunger and in thirst and in nakedness and in loss of everything, and he shall put a yoke of iron on your neck until He shall destroy you.<p> <A name="50"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-49.htm#aramaic"><b>49</b></a></span>LORD JEHOVAH shall bring upon you a people from a distance, from the ends of the Earth, as a flying eagle, a people whose language you have not heard; <A name="51"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-50.htm#aramaic"><b>50</b></a></span>A people whose face is bold, that is not reverent of the face of Elders and does not show mercy upon youth: <A name="52"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-51.htm#aramaic"><b>51</b></a></span>And it shall eat the offspring of your livestock and the fruit of your land until it shall destroy you, and it shall not leave to you produce or wine or oil or herds of oxen or flocks of sheep until it destroys you. <A name="53"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-52.htm#aramaic"><b>52</b></a></span>And it shall besiege you in all your towns until it breaks down your high and fortified walls upon which you trust in all your land, and it shall besiege you in all your towns in all the land that LORD JEHOVAH your God gives to you. <A name="54"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-53.htm#aramaic"><b>53</b></a></span>And you will eat the fruit of your body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters that LORD JEHOVAH your God gives to you; you will devour them in the siege and in adversity when your enemy afflicts you: <A name="55"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-54.htm#aramaic"><b>54</b></a></span>A man who feasts among you and lives in luxury among you, his eye shall stare at his brother and at the wife of his covenant and the remnant of his children who are left: <A name="56"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-55.htm#aramaic"><b>55</b></a></span>And he shall not give of the flesh of his children that he eats to one of them, because nothing would be left for him in the siege and in the affliction which your enemy inflicts on you in all your towns. <A name="57"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-56.htm#aramaic"><b>56</b></a></span>She who holds feasts among you and lives in luxury who would not put the sole of her foot to stand on the ground, by her daintiness and by her delicateness, her eye shall stare at her husband and at her son and at her daughter, <A name="58"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-57.htm#aramaic"><b>57</b></a></span>At her afterbirth that goes out from between her legs and at her son whom she will bear when she will eat them, when she had nothing in the siege and in the affliction which your enemy will inflict on you in all your towns.<p> <A name="59"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/deuteronomy/28-58.htm#aramaic"><b>58</b></a></span>But keep and do all of the words of this Law that are written in this book and stand in awe of this glorious and awesome Name: LORD JEHOVAH your God;
