That is that this place is actually the only Tim Hortons that even has a power door for the disabled. If you go to any Tim Hortons in the Halifax area you will discover that Tim Hortons makes no efforts to accommodate the needs of the disabled and also people who need to use manual or power wheelchairs. That also includes not providing wheelchair accessible bathrooms.</p> <p>I have previously done and written a very detailed report for the disabilities commission on issues pertaining to power doors. My very accurate and detailed report has been ignored by the city of Halifax and the building inspectors.</p> <p>The city of Halifax government and the Nova Scotia governments have absolutely no desires or wishes to look into their lack of caring for the needs of the disabled.</p> <p>Downtown Halifax only has two accessible bathrooms and they are located miles apart in two malls.</p> <p>Have a look at the horrible sidewalks and curb cut outs in Halifax. Trying to have a social life and to get around in Halifax is almost impossible. The city does not care at all. The attitude of the City of Halifax and the people is absolutely terrible when it comes to the needs of the disabled.</p> <p>The sidewalks in Halifax are HORRIBLE for wheelchair users.</p> <p>The city is actually paying someone to walk around and spray paint white outlines of all the hazards on the broken sidewalks.</p> <p>Everywhere you go in Halifax all you see is white paint everywhere.</p> <p>What really amazes me is that the sidewalks never get fixed and I watch as the years go by and the white paint markings being to fade and disappear.</p> <p>The City, even after being notified of very serious holes in the sidewalks will not go out and do any temporary repairs.</p> <p>This City is disgusting how they do not take care of the sidewalks and also if you look where there are curb cuts outs for wheelchairs.</p> <p>The curb cut outs are not safe to use. Are not properly constructed and most times the asphalt on the street at the cuts has huge holes. This situation is a perfect example. Like I said in the video, it is not just my wheelchair rights but that also the set up in this Tim Hortons poses a danger to anyone else who comes to this place. Like the doors swinging out and hitting people who come walking out from around the corner. While I am inside and trying to come out. I can not see if someone is coming around the corner. Not only that I can not wait to press the button for the second door because the timer on the first door is very quick and will not permit me to wait. There are no electronic eyes to see if I am in the doorway unlike what elevators doors have. This public place has to respect every ones rights that are guaranteed under law. The right for the disabled to be treated with the same respect and dignity as everyone else. That means the right to be able to enter and leave with the same dignity afforded to able bodied people.so that the disabled can safely enter and leave with no risk to to anyone. No business has any right to endanger any ones safety. </div> <div class="entry clear"> <p><strong>Another quick update… June 27, 2012</strong></p> <p>There was another covert attempt today to do me very serious bodily harm… That is the third time this month.</p> <p>my electric wheelchair still has not been replaced. </p> <p>The government told me they will no long repair my present wheelchair.</p> <p>A month ago mark burley of occupational therapy which is a government employee told me that he was ordering my wheelchair and that i would receive it by the end of the month.</p> <p>That being now..</p> <p>But again he makes up a story and indicated that he is not going to do what he said he would do.</p> <p>So now my wheelchair will not get repaired or replaced.</p> <p>The other day my chair would not run while I was on a public transit bus.</p> <p>The fire department had to get involved.</p> <p>Luckily after I got home I was able to temporarily fix the electrical short on my chair.</p> <p>But it could leave me stranded anytime.</p> <p>So I am very concerned for my security..</p> <p>People in the Nova Scotia government are involved in doing me more harm.</p> <p>We all live in dangerous times as we the people no As those of you know who have been reading my previous please for help.</p> <p>My electric wheelchair needs to be replaced as the one I have is always breaking down and leaving me imprisoned in my home.</p> <p>My chair was repaired again a couple of days ago after leaving me imprisoned in my home for thirty days.</p> <p>I got my chair back and went out with it. My situation has not improved..</h1> <p>some people are now aware and seem to be trying to help… but repairing this broken wheelchair I have is not an option.</p> <p>It can not be repaired.</p> <p>I will never again risk my life in this horrible and defective chair..</p> <p>My food is running out… I can not leave my home…</p> <p>One more week and things will get bad. was talking to catherine morse, she said she contacted the people to get your chair fixed</p> <p>and what ever other issues you needed help with ????</p> <p>Do you want me to call her back and tell her that you still have not gotten your chair fixed?</p> <p>She told me, she contacted the people to get it fixed and that she would not let you be in a</p> <p>bad position.</p> <p>Maybe they are being slow to get to you, which is the way of government workers.</p> <p>they are very slow from what i have seen in the past.</p> <p><strong>dan says.</strong></p> <p>The chair is beyond repair..plus the problem is that there are no licenced, trained or</p> <p>qualified wheelchair mechanics here in Nova Scotia.</p> <p>My chair is beyond repair and it is still sitting here.</p> <p><strong>bob says.</strong></p> <p>geees the chair is made from parts and i do believe that they can replace the parts</p> <p>to fix the chair ???</p> <p>maybe i dont know about chairs but everything can be Known as</p> <p>“Towseys Welding and Auto Repairs” The chair I have has no frame to speak of.</p> <p>It is really poorly made.It is an indoor chair.</p> <p><strong>bob says.</strong></p> <p>I think as far as your old chair is concerned, it needs a restoration to the highest of degree,</p> <p>but all that is needed is a responsible repairman that knows his trade since there are no</p> <p>mechanics here. you really are between a rock and a hard place, geeeees that sucks,</p> <p>but im waiting on a call back from SCOOTER / WHEELCHAIR REPAIRS</p> <p><strong>dan says.</strong></p> <p>I only go outdoors with my chair. my weight and the really poor sidewalks is not a</p> <p>good combination. Even if they knew the real problem.</p> <p>They only cared about making money.</p> <p><strong>bob says.</strong></p> <p>That is a real problem Dan, I did not realize what the capabilities of your chair is and</p> <p>it is not suited for sidewalk travel.Yah! That can happen, you must have to sign a</p> <p>repair bill, no good repairs, dont sign till its fixed properly.</p> <p><strong>dan says</strong>.</p> <p>No the government pays the bills without referring to me.</p> <p>They never listened to me ever, and the repair shops are all crooks.</p> <p>They just billed what ever they wanted.</p> <p>They often never replaced anything and just billed for thousands of dollars,or they</p> <p>installed used parts and pretended they were new.</p> <p><strong>bob says.</strong></p> <p>Well, I would tell your worker what they have done to you, the repair guys cant get</p> <p>away with that, thats dishonest and can be corrected.</p> <p><strong>dan says.</strong></p> <p>It is criminal.
