His parents were <a href="/wiki/Abbott-7388" title="Abbott-7388">Otto Abbott</a> and <a href="/wiki/Novak-1355" title="Novak-1355">Bertha (Novak) Abbott</a>. </p><p>He was a graduate of Grainfield Rural High School. </p><p>Harvey had service in the U.S. Army and served in the XVIII Airborne Corps. </p><p>He completed the Kansas State Police Academy in 1966 and worked as a Kansas State Trooper. </p><p>Harvey moved to New York in the early 1970's and worked at Verizon until his retirement. </p><p>He was an active genealogist and spent some time after his retirement driving around the states finding records for his ancestors and photographing their graves. </p><p>Harvey died on January 24, 2020 in Catskill, New York. He was buried on 30 January 2020 at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Westchester County. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
