A PIL had demanded that common entrance tests should be conducted in Gujarati language too in the state.</p><p>The PIL was filed by some 30 litigants, including Navsari's Sayaji Vaibhav Sarvajanik Pustakalaya Trust. The court sought opinion of the authorities whether the tests can be conducted in vernacular languages too. The replies were sought by Thursday, but hearing was adjourned till next month.</p><p>In the recent petition filed through advocate P R Nanavati, the court was urged to direct the authorities to conduct all entrance tests in Gujarati language also besides English and Hindi. The petition relied on the nation's multi-linguistic policy that a state can promote a regional language.
