So the priest<MH3548> shall make<MH3722a> atonement<MH3722a> on<MH5921> his behalf<MH5921> for his sin<MH2403b>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/5-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>‘But if<MH518> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>he cannot<MH3808> afford<MH5060, 3027> a lamb<MH7716>, then he shall bring<MH935> to the LORD<MH3068> his guilt<MH817> offering<MH817> for that in which<MH834> he has sinned<MH2398>, two<MH8147> turtledoves<MH8449> or<MH176> two<MH8147> young<MH1121> doves<MH3123>, one<MH259> as a sin<MH2403b> offering<MH2403b> and the other<MH259> as a burnt<MH5930a> offering<MH5930a>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/5-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>He shall bring<MH935> them to the priest<MH3548>, who shall first<MH7223> offer<MH7126> that which<MH834> is for the sin<MH2403b> offering<MH2403b>, and shall pinch<MH4454> off<MH4454> its head<MH7218> at the front<MH4136> of its neck<MH6203>, but he shall not sever<MH914> <i>it.</i> <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/5-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>He shall also sprinkle<MH5137a> some<MH4480> of the blood<MH1818> of the sin<MH2403b> offering<MH2403b> on the side<MH7023> of the altar<MH4196>, while the rest<MH7604> of the blood<MH1818> shall be drained<MH4680> out<MH4680> at the base<MH3247> of the altar<MH4196>: it is a sin<MH2403b> offering<MH2403b>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/5-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>The second<MH8145> he shall then prepare<MH6213a> as a burnt<MH5930a> offering<MH5930a> according to the ordinance<MH4941>. So the priest<MH3548> shall make<MH3722a> atonement<MH3722a> on<MH5921> his behalf<MH5921> for his sin<MH2403b> which<MH834> he has <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>committed<MH2398>, and it will be forgiven<MH5545> him. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/5-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>‘But if<MH518> his <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>means<MH3027> are<MH5381> insufficient<MH3808, 5381> for two<MH8147> turtledoves<MH8449> or<MH176> two<MH8147> young<MH1121> doves<MH3123>, then for his offering<MH7133a> for that which<MH834> he has sinned<MH2398>, he shall bring<MH935> the tenth<MH6224> of an <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>ephah<MH374> of fine<MH5560> flour<MH5560> as a sin<MH2403b> offering<MH2403b>; he shall not put<MH7760> oil<MH8081> on it or place<MH5414> incense<MH3828> on it, for it is a sin<MH2403b> offering<MH2403b>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/5-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>He shall bring<MH935> it to the priest<MH3548>, and the priest<MH3548> shall take<MH7061> his handful<MH4393, 7062> of it as its memorial<MH234> portion<MH234> and offer<MH6999> <i>it</i> up<MH6999> in<MH6999> smoke<MH6999> on the altar<MH4196>, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>with the offerings<MH801> of the LORD<MH3068> by<MH801> fire<MH801>: it is a sin<MH2403b> offering<MH2403b>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/5-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>So the priest<MH3548> shall make<MH3722a> atonement<MH3722a> for him concerning<MH5921> his sin<MH2403b> which<MH834> he has <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>committed<MH2398> from one<MH259> of these<MH428>, and it will be forgiven<MH5545> him; then <i>the rest</i> shall become<MH1961> the priest’s<MH3548>, like the grain offering<MH4503>.’” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/5-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>Then the LORD<MH3068> spoke<MH1696> to Moses<MH4872>, saying<MH559>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/5-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>“If<MH3588> a person<MH5315> acts<MH4603> unfaithfully<MH4603, 4604> and sins<MH2398> unintentionally<MH7684> against<MH4480> the LORD’S<MH3068> holy<MH6944> things<MH6944>, then he shall bring<MH935> his guilt<MH817> offering<MH817> to the LORD<MH3068>: a ram<MH352a> without<MH8549> defect<MH8549> from the flock<MH6629>, according to your assessment<MH6187> in silver<MH3701> by shekels<MH8255>, in <i>terms of</i> the shekel<MH8255> of the sanctuary<MH6944>, as a guilt<MH817> offering<MH817>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/5-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>And he shall make<MH7999a> restitution<MH7999a> for that which<MH834> he has sinned<MH2398> against<MH4480> the holy<MH6944> thing<MH6944>, and shall add<MH3254> to it a fifth<MH2549> part<MH2549> of it and give<MH5414> it to the priest<MH3548>. The priest<MH3548> shall then make<MH3722a> atonement<MH3722a> for him with the ram<MH352a> of the guilt<MH817> offering<MH817>, and it will be forgiven<MH5545> him. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/5-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>“Now if<MH518> a person<MH5315> sins<MH2398> and does<MH6213a> any<MH259> of the things <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>which<MH834> the LORD<MH3068> has commanded<MH4687> not to be done<MH6213a>, though he was<MH3045> unaware<MH3045, 3808>, he is still guilty<MH816> and shall bear<MH5375> his punishment<MH5771>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/5-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>He is then to bring<MH935> to the priest<MH3548> a ram<MH352a> without<MH8549> defect<MH8549> from the flock<MH6629>, according to your assessment<MH6187>, as a guilt<MH817> offering<MH817>.
