From the sons<MH1121> of Judah<MH3063>: Athaiah<MH6265> the son<MH1121> of Uzziah<MH5818>, the son<MH1121> of Zechariah<MH2148a>, the son<MH1121> of Amariah<MH568>, the son<MH1121> of Shephatiah<MH8203>, the son<MH1121> of Mahalalel<MH4111>, of the sons<MH1121> of Perez<MH6557>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>and Maaseiah<MH4641> the son<MH1121> of Baruch<MH1263>, the son<MH1121> of Col-hozeh<MH3626>, the son<MH1121> of Hazaiah<MH2382>, the son<MH1121> of Adaiah<MH5718>, the son<MH1121> of Joiarib<MH3080>, the son<MH1121> of Zechariah<MH2148a>, the son<MH1121> of the Shilonite<MH7888>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>All<MH3605> the sons<MH1121> of Perez<MH6557> who lived<MH3427> in Jerusalem<MH3389> were 468<MH702, 3967, 8346, 8083> able<MH2428> men<MH376>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>Now these<MH428> are the sons<MH1121> of Benjamin<MH1144>: Sallu<MH5543b> the son<MH1121> of Meshullam<MH4918>, the son<MH1121> of Joed<MH3133>, the son<MH1121> of Pedaiah<MH6305>, the son<MH1121> of Kolaiah<MH6964>, the son<MH1121> of Maaseiah<MH4641>, the son<MH1121> of Ithiel<MH384>, the son<MH1121> of Jeshaiah<MH3470a>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>and after<MH310> him Gabbai<MH1373a> <i>and</i> Sallai<MH5546b>, 928<MH8672, 3967, 6242, 8083>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>Joel<MH3100> the son<MH1121> of Zichri<MH2147> was their overseer<MH6496>, and Judah<MH3063> the son<MH1121> of Hassenuah<MH5574> was second<MH4932> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>in<MH5921> command<MH5921> of<MH5921> the city<MH5892b>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>From the priests<MH3548>: Jedaiah<MH3048> the son<MH1121> of Joiarib<MH3080>, Jachin<MH3199>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>Seraiah<MH8304> the son<MH1121> of Hilkiah<MH2518>, the son<MH1121> of Meshullam<MH4918>, the son<MH1121> of Zadok<MH6659>, the son<MH1121> of Meraioth<MH4812>, the son<MH1121> of Ahitub<MH285>, the overseer<MH5057> of the house<MH1004> of God<MH430>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>and their kinsmen<MH251> who did<MH6213a> the work<MH4399> of the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>temple<MH1004>, 822<MH8083, 3967, 6242, 8147>; and Adaiah<MH5718> the son<MH1121> of Jeroham<MH3395>, the son<MH1121> of Pelaliah<MH6421>, the son<MH1121> of Amzi<MH557>, the son<MH1121> of Zechariah<MH2148a>, the son<MH1121> of Pashhur<MH6583>, the son<MH1121> of Malchijah<MH4441>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>and his kinsmen<MH251>, heads<MH7218> of fathers’<MH1> <i>households,</i> 242<MH3967, 705, 8147>; and Amashsai<MH6023> the son<MH1121> of Azarel<MH5832>, the son<MH1121> of Ahzai<MH273>, the son<MH1121> of Meshillemoth<MH4919>, the son<MH1121> of Immer<MH564>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>and their brothers<MH251>, valiant<MH2428> warriors<MH1368>, 128<MH3967, 6242, 8083>. And their overseer<MH6496> was Zabdiel<MH2068>, the son<MH1121> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>Haggedolim<MH1896b>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>Now from the Levites<MH3881>: Shemaiah<MH8098> the son<MH1121> of Hasshub<MH2815>, the son<MH1121> of Azrikam<MH5840>, the son<MH1121> of Hashabiah<MH2811>, the son<MH1121> of Bunni<MH1138>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>and Shabbethai<MH7678> and Jozabad<MH3107>, from the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>leaders<MH7218> of the Levites<MH3881>, who were <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>in<MH5921> charge<MH5921> of<MH5921> the outside<MH2435> work<MH4399> of the house<MH1004> of God<MH430>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>and Mattaniah<MH4983> the son<MH1121> of Mica<MH4316>, the son<MH1121> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>Zabdi<MH2067>, the son<MH1121> of Asaph<MH623>, who was the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>leader<MH7218> in beginning<MH8462> the thanksgiving<MH3034> at prayer<MH8605>, and Bakbukiah<MH1229>, the second<MH4932> among<MH4480> his kinsmen<MH251>; and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>Abda<MH5653> the son<MH1121> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>Shammua<MH8051>, the son<MH1121> of Galal<MH1559>, the son<MH1121> of Jeduthun<MH3038>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>All<MH3605> the Levites<MH3881> in the holy<MH6944> city<MH5892b> <i>were</i> 284<MH3967, 8084, 702>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>Also the gatekeepers<MH7778>: Akkub<MH6126>, Talmon<MH2929>, and their kinsmen<MH251> who kept<MH8104> watch<MH8104> at the gates<MH8179>, <i>were</i> 172<MH3967, 7657, 8147>. <p class="hdg">Outside Jerusalem</p><span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>The rest<MH7605> of Israel<MH3478>, of the priests<MH3548> <i>and</i> of the Levites<MH3881>, <i>were</i> in all<MH3605> the cities<MH5892b> of Judah<MH3063>, each<MH376> on his own inheritance<MH5159>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>But the temple<MH5411> servants<MH5411> were living<MH3427> in Ophel<MH6077>, and Ziha<MH6727> and Gishpa<MH1658> were <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>in<MH5921> charge<MH5921> of<MH5921> the temple<MH5411> servants<MH5411>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>Now the overseer<MH6496> of the Levites<MH3881> in Jerusalem<MH3389> was Uzzi<MH5813> the son<MH1121> of Bani<MH1137>, the son<MH1121> of Hashabiah<MH2811>, the son<MH1121> of Mattaniah<MH4983>, the son<MH1121> of Mica<MH4316>, from the sons<MH1121> of Asaph<MH623>, <i>who were</i> the singers<MH7891> for the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>service<MH4399> of the house<MH1004> of God<MH430>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>For <i>there was</i> a commandment<MH4687> from the king<MH4428> concerning<MH5921> them and a royal<MH548> command<MH548> for the singers<MH7891> day<MH3117> by day<MH3117>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>And Pethahiah<MH6611> the son<MH1121> of Meshezabel<MH4898>, of the sons<MH1121> of Zerah<MH2226> the son<MH1121> of Judah<MH3063>, was the king’s<MH4428> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>representative<MH3027> for every<MH3605> matter<MH1697> concerning the people<MH5971a>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>Now as for the villages<MH2691b> with their fields<MH7704>, some<MH4480> of the sons<MH1121> of Judah<MH3063> lived<MH3427> in Kiriath-arba<MH7153> and its <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[p]</a></span>towns<MH1323>, in Dibon<MH1769> and its <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[q]</a></span>towns<MH1323>, and in Jekabzeel<MH6909> and its villages<MH2691b>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span>and in Jeshua<MH3091>, in Moladah<MH4137>, and Beth-pelet<MH1046>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span>and in Hazar-shual<MH2705>, in Beersheba<MH884> and its towns<MH1323>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span>and in Ziklag<MH6860>, in Meconah<MH4368> and in its towns<MH1323>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span>and in En-rimmon<MH5884>, in Zorah<MH6881>, and in Jarmuth<MH3412>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/nehemiah/11-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span>Zanoah<MH2182>, Adullam<MH5725>, and their villages<MH2691b>, Lachish<MH3923> and its fields<MH7704>, Azekah<MH5825> and its towns<MH1323>.
