class="description"> <p>The annual International Conference on Philanthropy is organized by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) every June in Greece, since 2012. The conference brings together internationally renowned speakers from the fields of academia and science, as well as representatives of other foundations and institutions. The aim of the conference is to present best practices, and become the ground for the exchange of ideas and discussion on the developments within the wider field of philanthropy. Each year’s theme varies depending on current challenges, keeping at its core the four program areas of the Foundation: Arts and Culture, Education, Health and Sports, and Social Welfare. The conference is addressed to representatives of other foundations, nonprofit organizations and institutions, as well as to all those who are interested in the role of philanthropy and social giving.</p> <p>The 6th SNF Conference on Philanthropy will take place from Wednesday June 21st to Friday June 23rd, 2017 at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. </p> <p>The Conference on Philanthropy will explore the theme of Creativity, Imagination and the Importance of Reactivating Public and Ethical Spaces in a Highly Polarized Society. In addition to panel discussions that will allow for a theoretical approach to be explored and relevant discussion to take place, this year’s Conference will be supplemented with break-out sessions, installations and performances that will give participants the opportunity to actively engage in the theme’s exploration through a practical representation of how creativity can impact placemaking and the activation of public spaces.</p> <p>This year’s SNF Conference on Philanthropy will take place as part of the larger week of events organized by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation at the SNFCC from
