It includes links to online copies, library catalogs, and bookstores, so you can read for yourself what somewhat felt was too dangerous to let people read. The site also includes links with more information on censorship past and present. (This exhibit replaces an older Banned Books Online page.)
Prize Winning Books Online gives links to online books that have been honored with major literary awards, including the Newbery Award, the Nobel Prize, and the Pulitzer Prize. Read great literature, and see what kinds of books spoke most strongly to different parts of this past century. Many books that have won these awards are not yet online; the exhibit also lists titles of books that could be placed online by interested volunteers.

Home -- Search -- New Listings -- Authors -- Titles -- Subjects -- Serials

Books -- Features -- Archives -- The Inside Story

Edited by John Mark Ockerbloom (onlinebooks@pobox.upenn.edu)
OBP copyrights and licenses
