partnership with the University of Insubria (Varese and Como), is organizing a Summer School in July 2025 as part of the Anawati Chair “Combating Religious Extremism through Interfaith Dialogue.” This program is specifically designed for PhD students or recent doctoral graduates (since January 1, 2023) focusing on citizenship and religious pluralism.</p> </div> </div> <div id="annonce"> <p class="intitule">Annonce</p> <div id="annonce-1183602-en" class="tabContent" lang="en" xml:lang="en"> <h1>Description of the Summer School</h1> <p style="text-align: left;">As part of the Anawati Chair "Combating Religious Extremism through Interfaith Dialogue," the Dominican Institute for Oriental Studies in Cairo, in partnership with the University of Insubria (Varese and Como), is organizing a summer school in July 2025. This program is intended for PhD students or those who have recently defended their doctoral thesis (after January 1, 2023) on the theme of citizenship and religious pluralism.</p> <p style="text-align: left;">From an interdisciplinary perspective, the Summer School will host 25 PhD students from universities and academic institutions across the Mediterranean Basin who are exploring this issue within their respective disciplines (political science, law, history, philosophy, theology, economics).</p> <p style="text-align: left;">Participants will present their research and engage in interdisciplinary discussions, to expand their perspectives and establish a global network of young researchers.</p> <p style="text-align: left;">The program will be conducted primarily in English and will take place from July 15 to 23, 2025, in Cairo, Egypt. The Chair Anawati will cover travel, accommodation, and selected meals for participants.</p> <h1>Schedule</h1> <p style="text-align: left;">Applications, including a CV, a motivation letter, and other relevant documents, are due</p> <h3>by February 1, 2025.</h3> <p style="text-align: left;">Successful applicants will be notified by March 1, 2025.</p> <p style="text-align: left;">For further details or to submit your application, please contact [<strong>summerschool-2025@ideo-cairo.org</strong>]</p> <p style="text-align: left;">Each student will present the current state of their research, including their research questions, hypotheses, and findings. The discussions will aim to broaden and enrich everyone's perspectives while also creating an international network of young researchers working on this topic. Students will be asked to submit an English text summarizing their presentation, of between 1,500 and 2,000 words, by May 31, 2025.</p> <p style="text-align: left;">Throughout the Summer School, <strong>five scholars</strong> from various disciplines will give presentations and facilitate discussions and exchanges during the week.</p> <p style="text-align: left;">The working language will primarily be English.</p> <h1>Conditions</h1> <ul> <li>Eligibility: Be a PhD student or have defended your thesis no later than January 1, 2023, at a university or institute in the Mediterranean region.</li> <li>Research Focus: The topic or theme must address the issue of citizenship and religious pluralism.</li> </ul> <h1>Application Requirements</h1> <p style="text-align: left;">In a single is 500 EGP.</p> <p style="text-align: left;">- For non-Egyptian students from the southern Mediterranean (excluding the European Union), the fee after acceptance is 170 euros.</p> <p
