Before that I was in the group of <a href="https://www.carqueville.net/nils/group.php">Nils Carqueville</a> in Vienna funded by first a Junior Reseach Fellow from the Erwin Schrödinger Institute and then a Cecil King travel scholarship from the LMS. Even before that I was a Senior Research associate at the University of East Anglia with <a href="https://research-portal.uea.ac.uk/en/persons/vanessa-miemietz">Vanessa Miemietz</a>, and an EPSRC research associate in the School of Mathematics, University of Leeds. I defended my PhD thesis ‘Embedded cobordisms, motion groupoids and topological quantum field theories’ in December 2021, supervised by <a href="http://www1.maths.leeds.ac.uk/~ppmartin/research.html">Paul Martin</a> and <a href="http://www1.maths.leeds.ac.uk/~pmtjfa/">João Faria Martins</a>.</p> <h2 id="interests">Interests</h2> <p>I am interested in a variety of areas where topology, algebra, representation theory and category theory arise in mathematical physics.</p> <p>Some keywords: topological quantum computation, topological quantum field theory, modular tensor categories, statistical mechanics, motion groupoids, mapping class groupoids</p> <h2 id="cv">CV</h2> <p>My CV can be found <a href="CV/CV_FTorzewskaWebsite.pdf" target="_blank">here.</a></p> <!-- Whenever you commit to this repository, GitHub Pages will run [Jekyll](https://jekyllrb.com/) to rebuild the pages in your site, from the content in your Markdown files. ### Markdown Markdown is a lightweight and easy-to-use syntax for styling your writing.
