The next term begins 1 January 2013.</li> <li>There are many levels of volunteer opportunities — section/focus group opportunities, Union-level committees, the AGU Council and Board of Directors. The time commitment depends on the level. For example, many of the Union-level committees meet 2 times a year.</li> <li>We're sure to have a volunteer opportunity that meets your experience or interest. Committees are the lifeblood of AGU and committee members serve in a variety of indispensable roles. They are advisors to the president, the new Board of Directors and the Council; they provide continuing guidance for all AGU programs, review ongoing and proposed programs, and suggest new ones. As an organization, the Union can not operate effectively without a strong core of committee volunteers who give so generously of their time, talent, and energy.</p> <p>AGU members are invited to volunteer for any committee based on their skill set and knowledge.
