pray before LORD JEHOVAH and he will remove the snakes from us.” And Moshe prayed for the people. <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH said to Moshe: “Make for yourself a destructive serpent of brass, and set it for a sign, and everyone whom a Serpent will bite shall look at it and he shall live.” <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And Moshe made the serpent of brass and he set it for a sign and whenever a serpent would bite a man, he gazed at the serpent of brass and he lived.<p> <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And the children of Israel picked up and they camped in Aboth. <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And they picked up from Aboth and camped at Ayna d'Ebraye “Spring of the Hebrews” in the wilderness that is next to Moab from the East, from the dawning of the sun. <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>And from there they picked up and camped in the valley of Zarad. <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And from there they moved and camped at the crossing of Arnon in the wilderness that goes out from the border of the Amorites because the Arnon is Moab's border, between the Moabites and the Amorites.<p> <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>Because of this, it is said in the book of the Wars of LORD JEHOVAH, “The Flame In the Whirlwind and In the River of Arnon.<p> <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And he has made ready the valleys that were inclining to the Habitat of Ad and were lying on the border of Moabites.”<p> <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>And there is Bera, the well where LORD JEHOVAH said to Moshe: “Gather the people to me and I shall give water to them.”<p> <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>Then Israel sang this song: ’Spring up, oh well; answer it.’<p> <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>The well that the Princes dug and the Rulers of the people dug up and they searched it with their scepters, and from the wilderness she inhabited Matne.<p> <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>And from Matne to Nakhlayel and from Nakhlayel to Bemuth. <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>And from Bemuth of the valley that is in the country of Moab to the top of Ramtha that is seen against Ashimon.”<p> <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>And Israel sent Messengers to Sihon the King of the Amorites and said to him: <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>“I will pass through your land and we will not turn aside in a field or in a vineyard and we will not drink from the water of your wells but we will go in the road of the King until we pass through your border.” <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And Sihon did not allow Israel to pass over into his border and Sihon gathered all his army and went out to a meeting of Israel to the wilderness and he came to Yahaz and fought with Israel. <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>And Israel struck him with the mouth of the sword and they possessed his land from Arnon and unto Yabaq and unto to the children of Amon, because the border of the children of Amon was strong. <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>And Israel took all these towns and Israel settled in all the towns of the Amorites, in Kheshbon and in all its villages. <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>Because Kheshbon was the city of Sihon the King of the Amorites, and he fought with the King of Moab first and he took all his land from his border and unto Arnon.<p> <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>Because of this, they were saying in a parable: “Enter Kheshbon, built and established the city of Sihon.<p> <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>Because fire has proceeded from Kheshbon and a flame from the fortress city of Sihon and consumed Ad of Moab and the Servants of the high place of Arnon.<p> <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>Woe to you Arnon! Woe to you Moab! You are destroyed, people of Khemosh!
