<A name="4"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-3.htm#aramaic"><b>3</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH listened to the voice of Israel and delivered the Canaanites into their hands and they killed them by the sword and utterly destroyed them and their towns, and they called the name of country that KharmaDestruction.<p> <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-4.htm#aramaic"><b>4</b></a></span>And they picked up from Hor Mountain in the way of the Sea of Reeds to its surrounding land of Adum, and the soul of the people was wearied in the road. <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>And the people complained against God and against Moshe and they said, &#8220;Why did you bring us out from Egypt that we should die in the wilderness, because there is no bread and no water and our soul is weary of the small bread?&#8221;<p> <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH sent destructive snakes against the people and they bit the people and many of the people of Israel died. <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>And the people came to Moshe and they said to him: &#8220;We have sinned, for we have complained against LORD JEHOVAH, also against you; pray before LORD JEHOVAH and he will remove the snakes from us.&#8221; And Moshe prayed for the people. <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH said to Moshe: &#8220;Make for yourself a destructive serpent of brass, and set it for a sign, and everyone whom a Serpent will bite shall look at it and he shall live.&#8221; <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And Moshe made the serpent of brass and he set it for a sign and whenever a serpent would bite a man, he gazed at the serpent of brass and he lived.<p> <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And the children of Israel picked up and they camped in Aboth. <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And they picked up from Aboth and camped at Ayna d'Ebraye &#8220;Spring of the Hebrews&#8221; <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And Sihon did not allow Israel to pass over into his border and Sihon gathered all his army and went out to a meeting of Israel to the wilderness and he came to Yahaz and fought with Israel. <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>And Israel struck him with the mouth of the sword and they possessed his land from Arnon and unto Yabaq and unto to the children of Amon, because the border of the children of Amon was strong. <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>And Israel took all these towns and Israel settled in all the towns of the Amorites, in Kheshbon and in all its villages. <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>Because Kheshbon was the city of Sihon the King of the Amorites, and he fought with the King of Moab first and he took all his land from his border and unto Arnon.<p> <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>Because of this, they were saying in a parable: &#8220;Enter Kheshbon, built and established the city of Sihon.<p> <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>Because fire has proceeded from Kheshbon and a flame from the fortress city of Sihon and consumed Ad of Moab and the Servants of the high place of Arnon.<p> <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/21-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>Woe to you Arnon! Woe to you Moab! You are destroyed, people of Khemosh!
