Entrepreneurship (BerkleeICE) joined forces to launch the inaugural Women In The Mix Study, designed to examine and better understand the experiences and socio-economic landscape of women and STUDY</a></p> <p style="text-align: center"> </p> <p style="text-align: center">The study was built upon the baseline results from the 2019 study by Berklee College of Music and Women in Music, titled <a href="https://college.berklee.edu/news/berklee-now/berklee-college-music-and-women-music-release-results-new-study-women-us-music">“Women in the U.S. Music Industry: Obstacles And Opportunities“</a>. More than 1,600 respondents from across the U.S., representing all ages, races and ethnicities participated. Respondents included those working in various capacities in the industry, from behind the scenes to front and center, and at all levels, from entry to executive.</p> <p style="text-align: center">With this study, the Academy, ASU and BerkleeICE affirm their commitment to create dialogue around the realities of women and gender-expansive people in music, directing resources to accelerate progress around representation and equity.  </p> <p style="text-align: center">Advocates, allies, and the entire music industry are encouraged to use this data as a resource to help women in music overcome the challenges they face and ensure continual positive advancement for this community. Our hope is that the recommendations put forth in this study surrounding mentorship, access to resources, and style=\"text-align: center\"\u003eThe study was built upon the baseline results from the 2019 study by Berklee College of Music and Women in Music, titled \u003ca href=\"https://college.berklee.edu/news/berklee-now/berklee-college-music-and-women-music-release-results-new-study-women-us-music\"\u003e“Women in the U.S. Music Industry: Obstacles And Opportunities“\u003c/a\u003e. More than 1,600 respondents from across the U.S., representing all ages, races and ethnicities participated. Respondents included those working in various capacities in the industry, from behind the scenes to front and center, and at all levels, from entry to executive.\u003c/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center\"\u003eWith this study, the Academy, ASU and BerkleeICE affirm their commitment to create dialogue around the realities of women and gender-expansive people in music, directing resources to accelerate progress around representation and equity.  \u003c/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center\"\u003eAdvocates, allies, and the entire music industry are encouraged to use this data as a resource to help women in music overcome the challenges they face and ensure continual positive advancement for this community. Our hope is that the recommendations put forth in this study surrounding mentorship, access to resources, and opportunities will be put into action by the many influential companies in our industry. \u003c/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center\"\u003eThe Academy is leading by example and has committed to donating $50,000 to five organizations that support the growth of women and girls in music, including Beats By Girlz, Femme It Forward, Girls Make Beats, She Is The Music and Women’s Audio Mission. Each advocacy group will receive a $10,000 grant to further their mission.\u003c/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp
