Sacredness denotes holiness, purity, and a state of being set apart for divine purposes. The Hebrew word for holy, "qadosh," and the Greek word "hagios" both convey the idea of being set apart or consecrated. Sacredness is intrinsic to God's nature, as seen in <a href="/isaiah/6-3.htm">Isaiah 6:3</a>, where the seraphim proclaim, "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of Hosts; His glory fills the whole earth."<br><br>In the Old Testament, sacredness is often associated with places, objects, and people set apart for God's service. The Tabernacle and later the Temple were considered sacred spaces where God's presence dwelled (<a href="/exodus/25-8.htm">Exodus 25:8-9</a>).
