If you wish to request a loan, please complete the form <a href="/download/document/1392728763.docx">Request for loan of items from the collections of the National Library</a> (only for Polish institutions). We use this form to decide whether the loan is possible or not. In the case of exhibitions outside Poland and objects of particular historical value, the institution requesting the loan must submit a full <em>Facility Report</em>.</p> <p>Please send requests for loans, together with the completed <a href="/download/document/1392728763.docx">Request for loan form聽</a>and/or <em>Facility Report</em>, to the Director of the National Library.</p> <p>Requests for loans should be submitted at least six months before the planned opening of the exhibition. In the case of books and newspapers published before 1801, three months may be sufficient.</p> <p>Items are loaned on the basis of a loan agreement to be signed by the organisers of the exhibition and the National Library of Poland. The National Library loan items on condition that the necessary security and exhibition conditions can be guaranteed, taking into account relevant regulations and conservators' recommendations regarding the items in question.</p> <p>The mission of the National Library of Poland is to preserve the national literary heritage of Poland in perpetuity. For this reason the Library generally only loans items to exhibitions where the items in question are not available from any other institution.</p> <p>There is no charge for exhibit loans.
