href="https://web.archive.org/web/20160505215946/http://www.snf.org/el/" target="_hplink"> Ίδρυμα Σταύρος Νιάρχος (ΙΣΝ)</a> ενέκρινε <strong>δωρεά ύψους $1,25 εκατομμυρίων</strong> στο <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20160505215946/http://www.iie.org/" target="_hplink">Ινστιτούτο Διεθνούς Εκπαίδευσης (Institute of International Education – IIE)</a> για την εκκίνηση του <strong>Προγράμματος Υποτροφιών της Ελληνικής Διασποράς (Greek Diaspora Fellowship Program -GDFP)</strong>. Τα επόμενα δύο χρόνια, 40 ακαδημαϊκοί, που έχουν γεννηθεί στην Ελλάδα, αλλά έχουν ως βάση τους τις ΗΠΑ και τον Καναδά, θα λάβουν υποτροφίες ώστε να επισκεφτούν Ελληνικά Πανεπιστήμια και να αναπτύξουν συνεργατικές και παραγωγικές σχέσεις ανάμεσα στους φοιτητές, τους ακαδημαϊκούς, και τα ιδρύματα. Στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος, οι υπότροφοι θα διδάξουν σε μεταπτυχιακούς φοιτητές, θα σχεδιάσουν τη διδακτέα ύλη, και θα εκπονήσουν μελέτες σε πανεπιστήμια σε ολόκληρη την Ελλάδα.</p><p>Με τη δημιουργία του προγράμματος υποτροφιών, το Institute of International Education, κορυφαίος οργανισμός στην παροχή διεθνών εκπαιδευτικών υπηρεσιών και στρατηγικής, θα αντλήσει από την εμπειρία του στη διαχείριση σημαντικών προγραμμάτων ανταλλαγής στις ΗΠΑ και σε άλλες χώρες, σε κυβερνητικά προγράμματα, αλλά και σε προγράμματα ιδρυμάτων και επιχειρήσεων. Το νέο πρόγραμμα, που υλοποιείται με δωρεά από το Ίδρυμα Σταύρος Νιάρχος και συνδέει τους Έλληνες ακαδημαϊκούς της διασποράς με τα ελληνικά πανεπιστήμια, έχει σχεδιαστεί σύμφωνα με το πρότυπο του επιτυχημένου προγράμματος <strong>Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program </strong>που το IIE υλοποίησε σε συνεργασία με το Carnegie Corporation of New York, και το οποίο έφερε σε επαφή 110 Αφρικανούς ακαδημαϊκούς της διασποράς με πανεπιστήμια σε ολόκληρη την Αφρική, κατά τη διάρκεια των τελευταίων τριών ετών.</p><p>Το IIE θα αξιοποιήσει το εκτενές δίκτυό του για τη σύσταση ενός Γνωμοδοτικού Συμβουλίου, σε πλήρη συντονισμό με το Ίδρυμα Σταύρος Νιάρχος και το Fulbright Foundation στην Ελλάδα, ώστε να προσεγγίσει περαιτέρω διοικητικά στελέχη και μέλη του διδακτικού προσωπικού στα ελληνικά πανεπιστήμια, και θα ξεκινήσει μία ανταγωνιστική διαδικασία υποβολής αιτήσεων, προκειμένου να μπορέσει να κατευθύνει τους εξειδικευμένους μελετητές προς τις κατάλληλες ευκαιρίες υποτροφιών. Χάρη στη δωρεά του Ιδρύματος Σταύρος Νιάρχος, το IIE θα παρέχει υπηρεσίες οικονομικής διαχείρισης και διαχείρισης έργου (project management), τόσο στα ελληνικά ιδρύματα που θα συμμετάσχουν στο πρόγραμμα, όσο και στους Υποτρόφους του GDFP.<br/> <br/> «Οι κοινότητες της ελληνικής διασποράς σε ολόκληρο τον κόσμο ήταν, και θα είναι πάντα, ένα από τα σημαντικότερα πλεονεκτήματα της Ελλάδας. Το Πρόγραμμα Υποτροφιών της Ελληνικής Διασποράς έχει ως στόχο να ενεργοποιήσει τους Έλληνες ακαδημαϊκούς εκτός Ελλάδος, που επιθυμούν να συμβάλλουν στην ενίσχυση της τριτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης της χώρας», <strong>δήλωσε η Sarah Needham, από την Ομάδα Διαχείρισης Δωρεών του ΙΣΝ</strong>. «Αρκετοί ακαδημαϊκοί από την Ελλάδα έχουν ακολουθήσει διακεκριμένες σταδιοδρομίες στα πανεπιστήμια τόσο των ΗΠΑ, όσο και του Καναδά. Οι περισσότεροι από αυτούς έχουν διατηρήσει ισχυρούς πνευματικούς δεσμούς με την πατρίδα τους, αλλά μέχρι τώρα δεν έχει υπάρξει κάποια παρόμοια προσπάθεια κινητοποίησής τους με τρόπο οργανωμένο και συστηματικό. Ευελπιστούμε ότι το πρόγραμμα αυτό θα προσφέρει το κατάλληλο πεδίο ώστε να αναπτυχθούν τόσο βραχυπρόθεσμες συνεργασίες, όσο και σταθερές σχέσεις με μακροπρόθεσμα οφέλη για την Ελλάδα, αποδίδοντας θετικά αποτελέσματα ενάντια στη συνεχιζόμενη αποχώρηση επιστημόνων από τη χώρα, ένα φαινόμενο που αγγίζει ανησυχητικά επίπεδα κατά τη διάρκεια της τρέχουσας οικονομικής κρίσης». </p><p>«Η γενναιόδωρη δωρεά του Ιδρύματος Σταύρος Νιάρχος καταδεικνύει τη δέσμευση του Ιδρύματος για την ενίσχυση του ανθρώπινου κεφαλαίου στην Ελλάδα, και για την επένδυση στη μακροπρόθεσμη οικονομική ανάκαμψη της χώρας», <strong>δήλωσε ο Allan Goodman, Πρόεδρος και Διευθύνων Σύμβουλος του Institute of International Education (IIE)</strong>. «Το IIE έχει μακρά ιστορία στη διαχείριση παγκόσμιων υποτροφιών, και ανυπομονούμε να προχωρήσουμε στην ανάπτυξη ταλέντων μέσω του Προγράμματος Υποτροφιών της Ελληνικής Διασποράς, προκειμένου να αντιμετωπίσουμε τις προκλήσεις και να εκμεταλλευτούμε τις ευκαιρίες που προσφέρει η ανώτατη εκπαίδευση στην Ελλάδα και τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες».</p><p>Κάθε πρόγραμμα αποτελεί συνεργασία ανάμεσα στο εκάστοτε ίδρυμα υποδοχής και τον αντίστοιχο επισκέπτη καθηγητή, ενώ οι αιτήσεις για τα προγράμματα υποβάλλονται από τα Ελληνικά Πανεπιστήμια. Η διαδικτυακή πύλη θα είναι διαθέσιμη από την 1η Ιουνίου, και οι αιτήσεις θα πρέπει να έχουν υποβληθεί έως την 1η Αυγούστου, προκειμένου να εξεταστούν για τον πρώτο γύρο των δωρεών.
