and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>we celebrate<MG2744> in hope<MG1680> of the glory<MG1391> of God<MG2316>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/5-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>And not only<MG3440> <i>this,</i> but <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>we also<MG2532> celebrate<MG2744> in our tribulations<MG2347>, knowing<MG3609a> that tribulation<MG2347> brings<MG2716> about<MG2716> perseverance<MG5281>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/5-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>and perseverance<MG5281>, proven<MG1382> character<MG1382>; and proven<MG1382> character<MG1382>, hope<MG1680>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/5-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>and hope<MG1680> does not disappoint<MG2617b>, because<MG3754> the love<MG26> of God<MG2316> has been poured<MG1632b> out<MG1632b> within<MG1722> our hearts<MG2588> through<MG1223> the Holy<MG40> Spirit<MG4151> who was given<MG1325> to us. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/5-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>For while we were still<MG2089> helpless<MG772>, at <i>the</i> right<MG2540> time<MG2540> Christ<MG5547> died<MG599> for the ungodly<MG765>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/5-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>For one<MG5100> will hardly<MG3433> die<MG599> for a righteous<MG1342> person<MG1342>; <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>though<MG1063> perhaps<MG5029> for the good<MG18> person<MG18> someone<MG5100> would even<MG2532> dare<MG5111> to die<MG599>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/5-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>But God<MG2316> demonstrates<MG4921> His own<MG1438> love<MG26> toward<MG1519> us, in that while we were still<MG2089> sinners<MG268>, Christ<MG5547> died<MG599> for us. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/5-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>Much<MG4183> more<MG3123> then<MG3767>, having now<MG3568> been justified<MG1344> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>by His blood<MG129>, we shall be saved<MG4982> from the wrath<MG3709> <i>of God</i> through<MG1223> Him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/5-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>For if<MG1487> while we were enemies<MG2190> we were reconciled<MG2644> to God<MG2316> through<MG1223> the death<MG2288> of His Son<MG5207>, much<MG4183> more<MG3123>, having been reconciled<MG2644>, we shall be saved<MG4982> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>by His life<MG2222>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/5-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>And not only<MG3440> <i>this,</i> but <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>we also<MG2532> celebrate<MG2744> in God<MG2316> through<MG1223> our Lord<MG2962> Jesus<MG2424> Christ<MG5547>, through<MG1223> whom<MG3739> we have now<MG3568> received<MG2983> the reconciliation<MG2643>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/5-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>Therefore<MG1223, 3778>, just<MG5618> as through<MG1223> one<MG1520> man<MG444> sin<MG266> entered<MG1525> into the world<MG2889>, and death<MG2288> through<MG1223> sin<MG266>, and so<MG3779> death<MG2288> spread<MG1330> to all<MG3956> mankind<MG444>, because<MG1909, 3739> all<MG3956> sinned<MG264>— <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/5-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>for <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>until<MG891> the Law<MG3551> sin<MG266> was in the world<MG2889>, but sin<MG266> is not <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>counted<MG1677> against<MG1677> <i>anyone</i> when there is no<MG3361> law<MG3551>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/5-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>Nevertheless<MG235> death<MG2288> reigned<MG936> from Adam<MG76> until<MG3360> Moses<MG3475>, even<MG2532> over<MG1909> those<MG3588> who had not sinned<MG264> in the likeness<MG3667> of the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>violation<MG3847> <i>committed</i> by Adam<MG76>, who<MG3739> is a <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>type<MG5179b> of Him who was to<MG3195> come<MG3195>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/5-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>But <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>the gracious<MG5486> gift<MG5486> is not like<MG5613> the offense<MG3900>.
