Blair claims this was U-170, but that boat reported "Very quiet day ... far away depth charges heard". <cite>(Sources: Blair, vol 2, page 621)</cite></p> <p><strong>31 Oct 1944</strong><br/>The boat reported an attack on a convoy escorted by "destroyers" and fired a T5 torpedo, but was in return depth charged and severely damaged (War Diary, KTB).</p> <p><strong>5 Nov 1944</strong><br/>The boat reported Schnorchel damage from depth charging and an intention to return for repair.
