more than 6 million items.</p> <p>Staff maintain the LSC collections in impressive, 30-foot-high shelving units and locate and reshelve books with the help of special lifts and a meticuluous electronic scanning system.</p> <p>Other LSC hallmarks include:</p> <ul> <li>Retrieving and delivering materials throughout the Duke University Libraries system within 24 hours of your request.</li> <li>Processing your requests five days a week, Monday through Friday.</li> <li>Welcoming you and other Duke University Libraries patrons for free tours and book pickup.</li> <li>Assisting you as you conduct research in the LSC Reading Room.
