Heiner Flassbeck </h1> </header> <p>Heiner Flassbeck studierte Volkswirtschaft in Saarbrücken von 1971 bis 1975. An der Freien Universität Berlin wurde er 1987 mit dem Thema "Preise, Zins und Wechselkurs" promoviert. Seit 2005 ist er Honorarprofessor an der Universität Hamburg. Er arbeitete von 1976 bis 1980 im Stab des Sachverständigenrates zur Begutachtung der gesamtwirtschaftlichen Entwicklung in Wiesbaden. Es folgten sechs Jahre in verschiedenen Referaten des Bundesministeriums für Wirtschaft in Bonn, bevor er in das Deutsche Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (DIW) in Berlin eintrat, wo er von 1988 bis 1998 Leiter der Abteilung Konjunktur war.</p><p>Im Jahre 1998 wurde Heiner Flassbeck zum beamteten Staatssekretär im Bundesministerium der Finanzen ernannt, schied aber nach dem Rücktritt des Ministers im Frühjahr 1999 wieder aus. Im Jahr 2000 ging er zum Sekretariat der Konferenz der Vereinten Nationen für Handel und Entwicklung (UNCTAD) in Genf, wo er von August 2003 bis Dezember 2012 Direktor der Abteilung für Globalisierung und Entwicklungsstrategien war. Als Chef-Volkswirt war er unter anderem verantwortlich für den jährlichen Trade and Development Report und die Mitarbeit des UNCTAD-Sekretariats in der G 20. </p><p>Er ist Autor von vielen Büchern und hat zahlreiche Aufsätze zur Wirtschaftspolitik und Presseartikel verfasst. Seine letzten Bücher sind <a href="https://www.buchkomplizen.de/buecher/wirtschaft/der-begrenzte-planet-und-die-unbegrenzte-wirtschaft.html" target="_blank" rel="external noopener"><em>Der begrenzte Planet und die unbegrenzte Wirtschaft</em></a> und der <em><a href="https://www.buchkomplizen.de/buecher/wirtschaft/atlas-der-weltwirtschaft.html?listtype=search&searchparam=Flassbeck%20" target="_blank" rel="external noopener">Atlas der Weltwirtschaft</a></em>, beide beim Westend Verlag erschienen. Er schreibt regelmäßig auf <em><a href="https://www.relevante-oekonomik.com/" target="_blank" rel="external noopener">Relevante-Ökonomik.com</a></em> und in Englisch auf <em><a href="https://www.flassbeck-economics.com/" target="_blank" rel="external noopener">flassbeck-economics.com</a></em>.
