Through active engagement in thought-provoking sessions and discussions, we highlighted the critical role of software in the research process and emphasized the interconnectedness of data and technology. These contributions reflect our commitment to advocating for open, sustainable, FAIR research infrastructures.</p><p>One of the highlights of our participation was the panel discussion <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLPyeaN2e8w" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">“FAIR Data for AI and AI for FAIR Data</a>”, featuring our esteemed speaker, Michael Goedicke. This session delved into the transformative potential of FAIR data in artificial intelligence, exploring how they enable transparency and reproducibility in AI-driven research. It also underscored how AI tools can facilitate the creation and management of FAIR data.</p><p>Our second contribution was hosting an interactive unconference session titled <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Edpkt4Y3znM" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">“No Data Without Software!”</a> This interactive format encouraged an open and engaging discussion about the often-overlooked importance of software in research processes. This session affirmed the necessity of recognizing software as a vital research output.</p><p>The EOSC Symposium 2024 offered a remarkable opportunity to engage with a global network of professionals dedicated to advancing open science. The rich exchange of ideas and expertise highlighted the importance of international collaboration in driving forward the FAIR agenda.
