Multiple methods of summarizing and sorting the manuscripts were created. A summary page introduces the application function and capabilities, while an interactive map provides daily updates on infection, death, and recovery rates. A page with a pivot table allows publication sorting by topic, with an interactive data table that allows sorting topics by columns, as wells as the capability to view abstracts. Additionally, publications may be sorted by the medical topics they cover. We used the CORD-19 database to compile lists of publications. The data table can sort binary variables, allowing the user to pick desired publication topics, such as papers that describe COVID-19 symptoms. The application is primarily designed for use by researchers but can be used by anybody who wants a faster and more efficient means of locating papers of interest. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=COVID-19" title="COVID-19">COVID-19</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=literature%20summary" title=" literature summary"> literature summary</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=information%20retrieval" title=" information retrieval"> information retrieval</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Snorkel" title=" Snorkel"> Snorkel</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/134327/coronavirus-academic-paper-sorting-application" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/134327.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">152</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">367</span> Indecisiveness in &#039;The Road Not Taken&#039; by Robert Frost: An Expressive Critical Analysis</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kurt%20S.%20Candilas">Kurt S. Specifically, it aims at examining Frost’s inner being, emphasizing his own self and experiences in the poem or text. The study employs the qualitative research design which made use of discourse analysis using the critical theory of expressivism as the main guide. In acquiring the data of the study, the art of historiography is used such as autobiographical and/or biographical notes, sources documents, and web information. In executing the methods involved in this study, it is observed that the poem shows a naturalist implicatures, expressing Frost’s strong feelings and emotions being devoid of free will and a narrow bit of confusions and ambiguities with his indecisions in life. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=The%20Road%20Not%20Taken" title="The Road Not Taken">The Road Not Taken</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=expressivism" title=" expressivism"> expressivism</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=indecisiveness" title=" indecisiveness"> indecisiveness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=naturalist%20implicatures" title=" naturalist implicatures"> naturalist implicatures</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/77125/indecisiveness-in-the-road-not-taken-by-robert-frost-an-expressive-critical-analysis" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/77125.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">342</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">366</span> Analysis for Shear Spinning of Tubes with Hard-To-Work Materials</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sukhwinder%20Singh%20Jolly">Sukhwinder Singh Jolly</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Metal spinning is one such process in which the stresses are localized to a small area and the material is made to flow or move over the mandrel with the help of spinning tool. It subjects the literary piece into a qualitative analysis using the critical theory of mimesis. In effect, this study is proposed to find out and shed light on the mimetic feature of the poem’s textuality. Generally, it aims to analyze the poem’s deeper meaning in the context of the reality of life from birth to death. For the most part, this critical analysis discerns, investigates, and highlights the features which present the imitation of life in detail and from a deeper view. Based on the result of analysis, it shows that Frost has portrayed the cycle of life from birth to midst life as about proving oneself to others as far as achievements and accomplishments are concerned; secondly, at some point of one’s life, successes and achievements are just one’s perfect signature of living. As Frost discloses his poem, his message of the reality of life from birth to death is clear enough, that nothing is going to last forever. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nothing%20Gold%20Can%20Stay" title="Nothing Gold Can Stay">Nothing Gold Can Stay</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mimesis" title=" mimesis"> mimesis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=birth" title=" birth"> birth</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=death" title=" death"> death</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/77123/a-mimetic-textuality-in-robert-frosts-nothing-gold-can-stay" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/77123.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">471</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">364</span> Fuzzy Multi-Component DEA with Shared and Undesirable Fuzzy Resources</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jolly%20Puri">Jolly Puri</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shiv%20Prasad%20Yadav"> Shiv Prasad Yadav</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Multi-component data envelopment analysis (MC-DEA) is a popular technique for measuring aggregate performance of the decision making units (DMUs) along with their components. However, the conventional MC-DEA is limited to crisp input and output data which may not always be available in exact form. In real life problems, data may be imprecise or fuzzy. Therefore, in this paper, we propose (i) a fuzzy MC-DEA (FMC-DEA) model in which shared and undesirable fuzzy resources are incorporated, (ii) the proposed FMC-DEA model is transformed into a pair of crisp models using cut approach, (iii) fuzzy aggregate performance of a DMU and fuzzy efficiencies of components are defined to be fuzzy numbers, and (iv) a numerical example is illustrated to validate the proposed approach. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-component%20DEA" title="multi-component DEA">multi-component DEA</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fuzzy%20multi-component%20DEA" title=" fuzzy multi-component DEA"> fuzzy multi-component DEA</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fuzzy%20resources" title=" fuzzy resources"> fuzzy resources</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=decision%20making%20units%20%28DMUs%29" title=" decision making units (DMUs)"> decision making units (DMUs)</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/9809/fuzzy-multi-component-dea-with-shared-and-undesirable-fuzzy-resources" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/9809.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">407</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">363</span> Feasibility Conditions for Wind and Hydraulic Energy Coupling</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Antonin%20Jolly">Antonin Jolly</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bertrand%20Aubry"> Bertrand Aubry</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Corentin%20Michel"> Corentin Michel</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rebecca%20Freva"> Rebecca Freva</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Wind energy depends on wind strength and varies largely in time. When it is above the demand, it generates a loss while in the opposite case; energy needs are not fully satisfied. To overcome this problem specific to irregular energies, the process of pumped-storage hydroelectricity (PSH) is studied in present paper. A combination of wind turbine and pumped storage system is more predictable and is more compliant to provide electricity supply according to daily demand. PSH system is already used in several countries to accumulate electricity by pumping water during off-peak times into a storage reservoir, and to use it during peak times to produce energy. Present work discusses a feasibility study on size and financial productivity of PSH system actuated with wind turbines specific power. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wind%20turbine" title="wind turbine">wind turbine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hydroelectricity" title=" hydroelectricity"> hydroelectricity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=energy%20storage" title=" energy storage"> energy storage</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pumped-storage%20hydroelectricity" title=" pumped-storage hydroelectricity"> pumped-storage hydroelectricity</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36089/feasibility-conditions-for-wind-and-hydraulic-energy-coupling" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36089.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">379</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">362</span> Starch Incorporated Hydroxyapatite/Chitin Nanocomposite as a Novel Bone Construct</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Reshma%20Jolly">Reshma Jolly</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Shakir"> Mohammad Shakir</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Shoeb%20Khan"> Mohammad Shoeb Khan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Noor%20E.%20Iram"> Noor E. The interactions, crystallite size and surface morphology against n-HA/CT (nano-hydroxyapatite/chitin) nanocomposite have been obtained by correlating and comparing the results of FTIR, SEM, TEM and XRD. The comparative study of the bioactivity of n-HA/CT and n-HA/CT/ST nanocomposites revealed that the incorporation of starch as templating agent improved these properties in n-HA/CT/ST nanocomposite. The rise in thermal stability in n-HA/CT/ST nanocomposite as compared to n-HA/CT has been observed by comparing the TGA results. The comparison of SEM images of both the scaffolds indicated that the addition of ST influenced the surface morphology of n-HA/CT scaffold which appeared to be rougher and porous. The MTT assay on murine fibroblast L929 cells and in-vitro bioactivity of n-HA/CT/ST matrix referred superior non-toxic property of n-HA/CT/ST nanocomposite and higher possibility of osteo-integration in-vivo, respectively. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bioactive" title="bioactive">bioactive</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chitin" title=" chitin"> chitin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hyroxyapatite" title=" hyroxyapatite"> hyroxyapatite</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nanocomposite" title=" nanocomposite"> nanocomposite</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/29631/starch-incorporated-hydroxyapatitechitin-nanocomposite-as-a-novel-bone-construct" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/29631.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">493</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">361</span> Time Varying Crustal Anisotropy at Whakaari/White Island Volcano</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=M.%20Dagim%20Yoseph">M. The most recent eruption occurred in 2019, tragically claiming the lives of 22 individuals and causing numerous injuries. We employed shear-wave splitting analyses to investigate variations in anisotropy between 2018 and 2020, during quiescence, unrest, and the eruption. We examined spatial and temporal variations in 3499 shear-wave splitting and 2656 V_p/V_s ratio measurements. Comparing shear-wave splitting parameters from similar earthquake paths across different times indicates that the observed temporal changes are unlikely to result from variations in earthquake paths through media with spatial variability. Instead, these changes may stem from variations in anisotropy over time, likely caused by changes in crack alignment due to stress or varying fluid content. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=background%20seismic%20waves" title="background seismic waves">background seismic waves</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fast%20orientations" title=" fast orientations"> fast orientations</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=seismic%20anisotropy" title=" seismic anisotropy"> seismic anisotropy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=V_p%2FV_s%20ratio" title=" V_p/V_s ratio"> V_p/V_s ratio</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/185200/time-varying-crustal-anisotropy-at-whakaariwhite-island-volcano" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/185200.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">46</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">360</span> Nano-Hydroxyapatite/Dextrin/Chitin Nanocomposite System for Bone Tissue Engineering</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Shakir">Mohammad Shakir</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Reshma%20Jolly"> Reshma Jolly</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Shoeb%20Khan"> Mohammad Shoeb Khan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Noor-E-Iram"> Noor-E-Iram</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A nanocomposite system incorporating dextrin into nano-hydroxyapatite/chitin matrix (n-HA/DX/CT) has been successfully synthesized via co-precipitation route at room temperature for the application in bone tissue engineering by investigating biocompatibility, cytotoxicity and mechanical properties. The FTIR spectra of n-HA/DX/CT nanocomposite indicated a considerable intermolecular interaction between the various components of the system. The results of XRD, TEM and TGA/DTA revealed that the crystallinity, size and thermal stability of the n-HA/DX/CT scaffold has decreased and increased respectively. The result of SEM image of the n-HA/DX/CT scaffold indicated that the incorporation of dextrin affected the surface morphology while considerable in-vitro bioactivity has been observed in n-HA/DX/CT based on SBF study, referring a step towards possibility of making direct bond to living bone if implanted. Moreover, MTT assay suggested the non-toxic nature of n-HA/DX/CT to murine fibroblast L929 cells. The swelling study of n-HA/DX/CT scaffold indicated the low swelling rate for n-HADX/CT. All these results have paved the way for n-HA/DX/CT to be used as a competent material for bone tissue engineering. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=autograft" title="autograft">autograft</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chitin" title=" chitin"> chitin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dextrin" title=" dextrin"> dextrin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nanocomposite" title=" nanocomposite"> nanocomposite</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/29663/nano-hydroxyapatitedextrinchitin-nanocomposite-system-for-bone-tissue-engineering" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/29663.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">534</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">359</span> Temperature Dependence of Relative Permittivity: A Measurement Technique Using Split Ring Resonators</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sreedevi%20P.%20Chakyar">Sreedevi P. The dielectric constant of a material is dependent upon its temperature and the <em>LC</em> resonance of the SRR depends on its dielectric environment. Hence, the temperature of the dielectric material in contact with the resonator influences its resonant frequency. A single SRR placed between transmitting and receiving probes connected to a Vector Network Analyser (VNA) is used as a test probe. The dependence of temperature between 30 oC and 60 oC on resonant frequency of SRR is analysed. Relative permittivities &lsquo;&epsilon;&rsquo; of test samples for different temperatures are extracted from a calibration graph drawn between the relative permittivity of samples of known dielectric constant and their corresponding resonant frequencies. This method is found to be an easy and efficient technique for analysing the temperature dependent permittivity of different materials. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=metamaterials" title="metamaterials">metamaterials</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=negative%20permeability" title=" negative permeability"> negative permeability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=permittivity%20measurement%20techniques" title=" permittivity measurement techniques"> permittivity measurement techniques</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=split%20ring%20resonators" title=" split ring resonators"> split ring resonators</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=temperature%20dependent%20dielectric%20constant" title=" temperature dependent dielectric constant"> temperature dependent dielectric constant</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/50478/temperature-dependence-of-relative-permittivity-a-measurement-technique-using-split-ring-resonators" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/50478.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">412</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">358</span> In-situ Mental Health Simulation with Airline Pilot Observation of Human Factors</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mumtaz%20Mooncey">Mumtaz Mooncey</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alexander%20Jolly"> Alexander Jolly</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Megan%20Fisher"> Megan Fisher</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kerry%20Robinson"> Kerry Robinson</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Robert%20Lloyd"> Robert Lloyd</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dave%20Fielding"> Dave Fielding</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Introduction: The integration of the WingFactors in-situ simulation programme has transformed the education landscape at the Whittington Health NHS Trust. To date, there have been a total of 90 simulations - 19 aimed at Paediatric trainees, including 2 Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) scenarios. The opportunity for joint debriefs provided by clinical faculty and airline pilots, has created a new exciting avenue to explore human factors within psychiatry. Through the use of real clinical environments and primed actors; the benefits of high fidelity simulation, interdisciplinary and interprofessional learning has been highlighted. The use of in-situ simulation within Psychiatry is a newly emerging concept and its success here has been recognised by unanimously positive feedback from participants and acknowledgement through nomination for the Health Service Journal (HSJ) Award (Best Education Programme 2021). Methodology: The first CAMHS simulation featured a collapsed patient in the toilet with a ligature tied around her neck, accompanied by a distressed parent. This required participants to consider:; emergency physical management of the case, alongside helping to contain the mother and maintaining situational awareness when transferring the patient to an appropriate clinical area. The second simulation was based on a 17- year- old girl attempting to leave the ward after presenting with an overdose, posing potential risk to herself. The safe learning environment enabled participants to explore techniques to engage the young person and understand their concerns, and consider the involvement of other members of the multidisciplinary team. The scenarios were followed by an immediate ‘hot’ debrief, combining technical feedback with Human Factors feedback from uniformed airline pilots and clinicians. The importance of psychological safety was paramount, encouraging open and honest contributions from all participants. Key learning points were summarized into written documents and circulated. Findings: The in-situ simulations demonstrated the need for practical changes both in the Emergency Department and on the Paediatric ward. The presence of airline pilots provided a novel way to debrief on Human Factors. The following key themes were identified: -Team-briefing (‘Golden 5 minutes’) - Taking a few moments to establish experience, initial roles and strategies amongst the team can reduce the need for conversations in front of a distressed patient or anxious relative. -Use of checklists / guidelines - Principles associated with checklist usage (control of pace, rigor, team situational awareness), instead of reliance on accurate memory recall when under pressure. -Read-back - Immediate repetition of safety critical instructions (e.g. drug / dosage) to mitigate the risks associated with miscommunication. -Distraction management - Balancing the risk of losing a team member to manage a distressed relative, versus it impacting on the care of the young person. -Task allocation - The value of the implementation of ‘The 5A’s’ (Availability, Address, Allocate, Ask, Advise), for effective task allocation. Conclusion: 100% of participants have requested more simulation training. Involvement of airline pilots has led to a shift in hospital culture, bringing to the forefront the value of Human Factors focused training and multidisciplinary simulation. This has been of significant value in not only physical health, but also mental health simulation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=human%20factors" title="human factors">human factors</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=in-situ%20simulation" title=" in-situ simulation"> in-situ simulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=inter-professional" title=" inter-professional"> inter-professional</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multidisciplinary" title=" multidisciplinary"> multidisciplinary</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/135712/in-situ-mental-health-simulation-with-airline-pilot-observation-of-human-factors" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/135712.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">107</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">357</span> Assessment of Student Attitudes to Higher Education Service Measures: The Development of a Framework for Private Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Farrah%20Anne%20Robert">Farrah Anne Robert</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Robert%20McClelland"> Robert McClelland</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seng%20Kiat%20Kok"> Seng Kiat Kok</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Higher education service quality is widely regarded as key factors in the long term success of a higher education institution in attracting and retaining students. This research attempted to establish the impact of service quality on recruiting and retaining students in private higher education institutions (PHEI’s). 501 local and international students responded to a 49 item educational service measure questionnaire from PHEIs in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, two states in Malaysia which together account for 60% of private colleges in Malaysia. Results from this research revealed that, inter-alia, facilities, employability, management and administration services, academic staff competence, curriculum and student overall experiences were key driving factors in attracting and retaining students. Lack of “campus-like building” facilities and lecturer’s effectiveness in delivering lectures were keys concerns in the provision of service quality by PHEI’s in Malaysia. Over the last decade, the Government of Malaysia has set a target of recruiting 200,000 international students to study in Malaysia by PHEI’s and PHEI’s have failed to achieve this target. This research suggests that service quality issues identified above are impacting efforts to recruit and retain both local and international students by PHEIs. The researcher recommends that further and detailed research be carried on these factors and its impact on recruitment and retention. PHEI administrators can benefit from this research by conducting an evaluation of service measures delivered in their institutions and take corrective measures. Prospective students can benefit from this study by including in their choice factors the “service quality delivery” of PHEI’s when deciding to enroll in a particular PHEI. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=higher%20education" title="higher education">higher education</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=recruitment" title=" recruitment"> recruitment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=retention" title=" retention"> retention</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=service%20quality" title=" service quality"> service quality</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/67653/assessment-of-student-attitudes-to-higher-education-service-measures-the-development-of-a-framework-for-private-higher-education-institutions-in-malaysia" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/67653.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">378</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">356</span> Estimate Robert Gordon University&#039;s Scope Three Emissions by Nearest Neighbor Analysis</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nayak%20Amar">Nayak Amar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Turner%20Naomi"> Turner Naomi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gobina%20Edward"> Gobina Edward</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The Scottish Higher Education Institutes must report their scope 1 & 2 emissions, whereas reporting scope 3 is optional. Scope 3 is indirect emissions which embodies a significant component of total carbon footprint and therefore it is important to record, measure and report it accurately. Robert Gordon University (RGU) reported only business travel, grid transmission and distribution, water supply and transport, and recycling scope 3 emissions. This study estimates the RGUs total scope 3 emissions by comparing it with a similar HEI in scale. The scope 3 emission reporting of sixteen Scottish HEI was studied. Glasgow Caledonian University was identified as the nearest neighbour by comparing its students' full time equivalent, staff full time equivalent, research-teaching split, budget, and foundation year. Apart from the peer, data was also collected from the Higher Education Statistics Agency database. RGU reported emissions from business travel, grid transmission and distribution, water supply, and transport and recycling. This study estimated RGUs scope 3 emissions from procurement, student-staff commute, and international student trip. The result showed that RGU covered only 11% of the scope 3 emissions. The major contributor to scope 3 emissions were procurement (48%), student commute (21%), international student trip (16%), and staff commute (4%). The estimated scope 3 emission was more than 14 times the reported emissions. This study has shown the relative importance of each scope 3 emissions source, which gives a guideline for the HEIs, on where to focus their attention to capture maximum scope 3 emissions. Moreover, it has demonstrated that it is possible to estimate the scope 3 emissions with limited data. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=HEI" title="HEI">HEI</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=university" title=" university"> university</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=emission%20calculations" title=" emission calculations"> emission calculations</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=scope%203%20emissions" title=" scope 3 emissions"> scope 3 emissions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=emissions%20reporting" title=" emissions reporting"> emissions reporting</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/157954/estimate-robert-gordon-universitys-scope-three-emissions-by-nearest-neighbor-analysis" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/157954.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">100</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">355</span> Formal Models of Sanitary Inspections Teams Activities</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tadeusz%20Nowicki">Tadeusz Nowicki</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rados%C5%82aw%20Pytlak"> Radosław Pytlak</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Robert%20Waszkowski"> Robert Waszkowski</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jerzy%20Bertrandt"> Jerzy Bertrandt</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anna%20K%C5%82os"> Anna Kłos</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper presents methods for formal modeling of activities in the area of sanitary inspectors outbreak of food-borne diseases. Limited information exists on the effect of acetous fermentation on the phytochemicals of Kei-apple fruit. The phytochemical content of vinegars is derived from compounds present in the fruit the vinegar is made of. Kei-apple fruit juice was co-inoculated with Schizosaccharomyces pombe and Saccharomyces cerevisiae to induce alcoholic fermentation (AF). Acetous fermentation followed AF, using an acetic acid bacteria consortium as an inoculant. Juice had the lowest pH and highest total acidity (TA). The wine had the highest pH and vinegars lowest TA. Total soluble solids and L-malic acid decreased during AF and acetous fermentation. Volatile acidity concentration was not different among vinegars. Gallic, syringic, caffeic, p-coumaric, and chlorogenic acids increased during acetous fermentation, whereas ferulic, sinapic, and protocatechuic acids decreased. Chlorogenic acid was the most abundant phenolic acid in both wines and vinegars. It is evident from this investigation that Kei-apple vinegar is a source of plant-derived phenolics, which evolved through fermentation. However, the AAB selection showed minimal performance with respect to VA production. Acetic acid bacteria selection for acetous fermentation should be reconsidered, and the reasons for the decrease of certain phenolic acids during acetous fermentation needs to be investigated. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=acetic%20acid%20bacteria" title="acetic acid bacteria">acetic acid bacteria</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=acetous%20fermentation" title=" acetous fermentation"> acetous fermentation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=liquid%20chromatography" title=" liquid chromatography"> liquid chromatography</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=phenolic%20acids" title=" phenolic acids"> phenolic acids</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/128490/schizosaccharomyces-pombe-saccharomyces-cerevisiae-yeasts-and-acetic-acid-bacteria-in-alcoholic-and-acetous-fermentations-effect-on-phenolic-acids-of-kei-apple-dovyalis-caffra-l-vinegar" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/128490.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">148</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">350</span> Drying Kinetics of Okara (Soy Pulp) Using the Multi-Commodity Heat Pump Dryer (MCHPD)</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lorcelie%20B.%20Taclan">Lorcelie B. The Food Factory owned and managed by AUP produces these food products weekly. Generally the study was conducted to determine the drying kinetics of soya pulp using the MCHPD. Specifically, it aimed to establish the time of drying; moisture loss per hour and percent moisture content of soya pulp and to establish the dried okara as an ingredient to other foods. The MCHPD is drying equipment that has an ideal drying condition of 50.00C and 10.0% relative humidity. Fresh and wet soya pulp were weighed at 1.0 kg per tray (21 drying trays), laid on the trays lined with cheese cloth. The MCHPD was set to desired drying conditions. Weight loss was monitored every hour and calculated using standard formulas. Research results indicated that the drying time for soya pulp was 19.0 hours; the % moisture content was reduced from 87.6.0% to 9.7.0% at an average moisture loss of 3.0 g/hr. The nutritional values of okara were favorably maintained with enhanced color. The dried okara was added as an ingredient to other healthy bakery products produced by the AUP Food Factory. Making use of okara would add nutritional values to other food products and would also help waste management concerns inside the university. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=okara" title="okara">okara</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=MCHPD" title=" MCHPD"> MCHPD</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=drying%20kinetics" title=" drying kinetics"> drying kinetics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nutritional%20values" title=" nutritional values"> nutritional values</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=waste%20management" title=" waste management"> waste management</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/14359/drying-kinetics-of-okara-soy-pulp-using-the-multi-commodity-heat-pump-dryer-mchpd" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/14359.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">395</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">349</span> Hypervirulent Klebsiella Pneumoniae in a South African Tertiary Hospital – Clinical Profile, Genetic Determinants and Virulence in Caenorhabditis Elegans</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dingiswayo%20Likhona">Dingiswayo Likhona</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arko-Cobbah%20Emmanuel"> Arko-Cobbah Emmanuel</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Carolina%20Pohl"> Carolina Pohl</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nthabiseng%20Z.%20Mokoena"> Nthabiseng Z. In South Africa, limited information is known about the prevalence and virulence of this hvKp strain. Thus, this study aimed to determine the prevalence of hvKp and virulence-associated factors in K. pneumoniae isolates from one of the largest Tertiary hospitals in a South African province. A total of 74 K. pneumoniae isolates were received from Pelonomi National Health Laboratory Services (NHLS), Bloemfontein. Virulence-associated genes (rmpA, capsule serotype K1/K2, iroB, and irp2) were screened, and the virulence of hvKp vs. classical Klebsiella pneumoniae (cKp) was investigated using Caenorhabditis elegans nematode model. The iutA (aerobactin transporter) gene was used as a primary biomarker of hvKp. An average of 12% (9/74) of cases were defined as hvKp. Moreover, hvKp was found to be significantly more virulent in vivo Caenorhabditis elegans relative to cKp. The virulence-associated genes (rmpA, iroB, hmv phenotype, and capsule K1/K2) were significantly (p< 0.05) associated with hvKp. Findings from this study confirm the presence of hvKp in one large Tertiary hospital in South Africa. However, the low prevalence and mild to moderate clinical presentation suggest a marginal threat to public health. Further studies in different settings are required to establish the true potential impact of hvKp in developing countries. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hypervirulent%20klebsiella%20pneumoniae" title="hypervirulent klebsiella pneumoniae">hypervirulent klebsiella pneumoniae</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=virulence" title=" virulence"> virulence</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=caenorhabditis%20elegans" title=" caenorhabditis elegans"> caenorhabditis elegans</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=aerobactin%20%28iutA%29" title=" aerobactin (iutA)"> aerobactin (iutA)</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/163261/hypervirulent-klebsiella-pneumoniae-in-a-south-african-tertiary-hospital-clinical-profile-genetic-determinants-and-virulence-in-caenorhabditis-elegans" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/163261.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">85</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">348</span> Wood Ashes from Electrostatic Filter as a Replacement for the Fly Ashes in Concrete</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Piotr-Robert%20Lazik">Piotr-Robert Lazik</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Harald%20Garrecht"> Harald Garrecht</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Many concrete technologists are looking for a solution to replace Fly Ashes that would be unavailable in a few years as an element that occurs as a major component of many types of concrete. First, the Nordic mythology adaptation and representation in “Thor” compared to other media. Second, the importance of using the mise en scene technique, the comprehensive portrayal of Nordic mythology and the audience's experiences in enjoying the film. This research is conducted using qualitative methods. The two research questions are analyzed using three theories: Adaptation theory by Robert Stam, Mise en Scene theory by Jean-Luc Godard, and Cultural Criticism theory by Michel Foucault. Robert Stam emphasizes the importance of social and historical in understanding film adaptations. Film adaptations always occur in a specific cultural and historical context; therefore, authors and producers must consider these factors when creating a successful adaptation. Jean-Luc Godard uses the “politiques des auteurs” approach to understand that films are not just cultural products made for entertainment, but they are works of art by authors and directors. It is important to explore how authors and directors convey their ideas and emotions in their films, in this case, a film set in Nordic mythology. Foucault takes an approach to analyzing power that considers how power operates and influences social relationships in a specific context. Foucault’s theory is used to analyze how the representation of Nordic mythology is used as an instrument of power by the Marvel Cinematic Universe to influence how the audience views Nordic mythology. The initial findings of this research are that the fusion of Nordic mythology with modern superhero storytelling in the film “Thor” produced by Marvel, is successful. The film contains conflicts in the modern world and represents the symbolism of Nordic mythology. The rich and interesting atmosphere of Nordic mythology is presented through epic battle scenes, captivating character roles, and the use of visual effects that make the film more vivid and real. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=adaptation%20theory" title="adaptation theory">adaptation theory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cultural%20criticism%20theory" title=" cultural criticism theory"> cultural criticism theory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=film%20criticism" title=" film criticism"> film criticism</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Marvel%20cinematic%20universe" title=" Marvel cinematic universe"> Marvel cinematic universe</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mise%20en%20Scene%20theory" title=" Mise en Scene theory"> Mise en Scene theory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nordic%20mythology" title=" Nordic mythology"> Nordic mythology</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/167067/from-myth-to-screen-a-cultural-criticism-of-the-adaptation-of-nordic-mythology-in-marvel-cinematic-universes-thor-trilogy" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/167067.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">86</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">346</span> Optimising Transcranial Alternating Current Stimulation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Robert%20Lenzie">Robert Lenzie</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) is significant in the research literature. Using a method to directly see the effect of tES on EEG may offer high temporal resolution data on the brain activity changes/modulations brought on by tES that correlate to various processing stages within the brain. This paper provides unpublished information on a cutting-edge methodology that may reveal details about the dynamics of how the human brain works beyond what is now achievable with existing methods. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tACS" title="tACS">tACS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=frequency" title=" frequency"> frequency</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=EEG" title=" EEG"> EEG</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=optimal" title=" optimal"> optimal</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/159776/optimising-transcranial-alternating-current-stimulation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/159776.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">81</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">345</span> Effect of Alcoholic and Acetous Fermentations on Phenolic Acids of Kei-Apple (Dovyalis Caffra L.) Limited information exists on the effect of alcoholic and acetous fermentation on the phytochemicals. The fruit has increased L-malic, ascorbic, and phenolic acids. Juice was co-inoculated with Schizosaccharomyces pombe and Saccharomyces cerevisiae to induce alcoholic fermentation and acetous fermentation using acetic acid bacteria. Saccharomyces cerevisiae+S. pombe wines and vinegars had highest pH. Total acidity, soluble solids and L-malic acid decreased during alcoholic and acetous fermentation with highest in S. cerevisiae wines and vinegars. Volatile acidity was highest in S. pombe vinegars but not different from S. cerevisiae and S. cerevisiae+S. pombe. Gallic acid was highest in S. pombe wines and vinegars. Syringic acid was highest in S. cerevisiae wines and vinegars. S. cerevisiae+S. pombe wines were highest in caffeic, p-coumaric and protocatechuic acids. Schizosaccharomyces pombe vinegars were highest in caffeic and p-coumaric acids. Ferulic and sinapic acids were highest in S. pombe and S. cerevisiae wines, respectively. Chlorogenic acid was most abundant in both wines and vinegars. Saccharomyces cerevisiae+S. pombe and S. cerevisiae had a positive effect on most phenolic acids. Saccharomyces cerevisiae +acetic acid bacteria had an increased effect on syringic and chlorogenic acids. Schizosaccharomyces pombe+acetic acid bacteria resulted in an increase in gallic, caffeic and p-coumaric acids. Acetic acid bacteria had minimal performance with respect to volatile acidity production in comparison to commercial vinegars. Acetic acid bacteria selection should therefore be reconsidered and the decrease of certain phenolic acids during acetous fermentation needs to be investigated. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=acetic%20acid%20bacteria" title="acetic acid bacteria">acetic acid bacteria</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=liquid%20chromatography" title=" liquid chromatography"> liquid chromatography</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=phenolics" title=" phenolics"> phenolics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=saccharomyces%20cerevisiae" title=" saccharomyces cerevisiae"> saccharomyces cerevisiae</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=schizosaccharomyces%20pombe" title=" schizosaccharomyces pombe"> schizosaccharomyces pombe</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/133987/effect-of-alcoholic-and-acetous-fermentations-on-phenolic-acids-of-kei-apple-dovyalis-caffra-l-fruit" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/133987.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">145</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">344</span> Transient Level in the Surge Chamber at the Robert-bourassa Generating Station</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maryam%20Kamali%20Nezhad">Maryam Kamali Nezhad</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The Robert-Bourassa development (LG-2), the first to be built on the Grande Rivière, comprises two sets of eight turbines- generator units each, the East and West powerhouses. Each powerhouse has two tailrace tunnels with an average length of about 1178 m. The LG-2A powerhouse houses 6 turbine-generator units. The water is discharged through two tailrace tunnels with a length of about 1330 m. The objective of this work, at RB (LG-2), is; 1) to establish a new maximum transient level in the surge chamber, 2) to define the new maximum equipment flow rate for the future turbine-generator units, 3) to ensure safe access to various intervention locations in the surge chamber. The transient levels under normal operating conditions at the RB plant were determined in 2001 by the Hydraulics Unit of HQE using the "Chamber" software. It is a one-dimensional mass oscillation calculation software; it is used to determine the variation of the water level in the equilibrium chamber located downstream of a power plant during the load shedding of the power plant units; it can also be used in the case of an equilibrium stack upstream of a power plant. The RB (LG-2) plant study is based on the theoretical nominal geometry of the chamber and the tailrace tunnels and the flow-level relationship at the outlet of the galleries established during design. The software is used in such a way that the results have an acceptable margin of safety, especially with respect to the maximum transient level (e.g., resumption of flow at an inopportune time), to take into account the turbulent and three-dimensional aspects of the actual flow in the chamber. Note that the transient levels depend on the water levels in the river and in the steady-state equilibrium chambers. These data are established in the HQP CRP database and updated from time to time. The maximum transient levels in the RB-East and RB-West powerhouses surge chamber were revised based on the latest update (set 4) of in-river rating curves and steady-state surge chamber water levels. The results of the revision were also used to update the technical advice on the operating conditions for the aforementioned surge chamber access while considering revisions to the calculated water levels. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=generating%20station" title="generating station">generating station</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=surge%20chamber" title=" surge chamber"> surge chamber</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=maximum%20transient%20level" title=" maximum transient level"> maximum transient level</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hydroelectric%20power%20station" title=" hydroelectric power station"> hydroelectric power station</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=turbine-generator" title=" turbine-generator"> turbine-generator</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=reservoir" title=" reservoir"> reservoir</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/162729/transient-level-in-the-surge-chamber-at-the-robert-bourassa-generating-station" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/162729.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">84</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">343</span> Using a Character’s Inner Monologue for Song Analysis </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Robert%20Roznowski">Robert Roznowski</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The thought process of the character is never more evident than when singing alone onstage. The combination of different non-terminals in various ways and tiers make up the attack vectors that are used by harmful software. Based on these syntactic structures a parser can be generated which takes execution traces as input for pattern recognition. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=malware%20behaviour" title="malware behaviour">malware behaviour</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=modelling" title=" modelling"> modelling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=parsing" title=" parsing"> parsing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=search" title=" search"> search</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pattern%20matching" title=" pattern matching"> pattern matching</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/3774/automatic-intelligent-analysis-of-malware-behaviour" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/3774.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">332</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">339</span> Health Literacy and Knowledge Related to Tuberculosis among Outpatients at a Referral Hospital in Lima, Peru</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rosalina%20Penaloza">Rosalina Penaloza</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Joanna%20Navarro"> Joanna Navarro</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pauline%20Jolly"> Pauline Jolly</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anna%20Junkins"> Anna Junkins</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Carlos%20Seas"> Carlos Seas</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Larissa%20Otero"> Larissa Otero</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Background: Tuberculosis (TB) case detection in Peru relies on passive case finding. This strategy relies on the assumption that the community is aware that a persistent cough is a possible symptom of TB and that formal health care needs to be sought. Despite its importance, health knowledge specific to TB is underexplored in Peru. This study aimed to assess health literacy and level of TB knowledge among outpatients attending a referral hospital in Lima, Peru. The goal was to ascertain knowledge gaps in key areas relating to TB, to identify and prioritize subgroups for intervention, and to provide insight for policy and community interventions considering health literacy. Methods: An observational cross-sectional study was conducted using a survey to measure sociodemographic factors, tuberculosis knowledge, and health literacy. Bivariate and Multivariate logistic regression was performed to study the associations between variables and to account for potential confounders. The study was conducted at Hospital Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru from June – August 2017. Results: 272 participants were included in the analysis. 57.7% knew someone who had had TB before, 9% had had TB in the past. Two weeks a cough was correctly identified as a symptom that could be TB by 69.1%. High TB knowledge was found among 149 (54.8%) participants. High health literacy was found among 193 (71.0%) participants. Health literacy and TB knowledge were not significantly associated (OR 0.9 (95%CI 0.5-1.5)). After controlling for sex, age, district, education, health insurance, frequency of hospital visits and previous TB diagnosis: High TB knowledge was associated with knowing someone with TB (aOR 2.7 (95%CI 1.6-4.7)) and being a public transport driver, (aOR 0.2 (95%CI 0.05-0.9)). Not being poor was the single factor associated with high health literacy (aOR 3.8 (95%CI 1.6-8.9)). Conclusions: TB knowledge was fair, though 30% did not know the most important symptom of TB. Tailoring educational strategies to risk groups may enhance passive case detection especially amongst transport workers in Lima, Peru. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
