Many different studies have been carried out to solve this problem. With advancing machine learning, tackling this problem is often done with neural network-based solutions. The images used in these studies are mostly in the visible spectrum. However, the need to use the Infrared (IR) spectrum for depth estimation has emerged because it gives better results than visible spectra in some conditions. At this point, we recommend using thermal-thermal (IR) image pairs for depth estimation. In this study, we used two well-known networks (PSMNet, FADNet) with minor modifications to demonstrate the viability of this idea. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=thermal%20stereo%20matching" title="thermal stereo matching">thermal stereo matching</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=deep%20neural%20networks" title="deep neural networks">deep neural networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CNN" title="CNN">CNN</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Depth%20estimation" title="Depth estimation">Depth estimation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/140133/depth-estimation-in-dnn-using-stereo-thermal-image-pairs" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/140133.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">279</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7</span> Dynamic Pricing With Demand Response Managment in Smart Grid: Stackelberg Game Approach</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hasibe%20Berfu%20Demi%CC%87r">Hasibe Berfu Demi虈r</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=%C5%9Eakir%20Esnaf"> 艦akir Esnaf</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In the past decade, extensive improvements have been done in electrical grid infrastructures. It is very important to make plans on supply, demand, transmission, distribution and pricing for the development of the electricity energy sector. Based on this perspective, in this study, Stackelberg game approach is proposed for demand participation management (DRM), which has become an important component in the smart grid to effectively reduce power generation costs and user bills. The purpose of this study is to examine electricity consumption from a dynamic pricing perspective. In this paper, it is focused on peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading and the implementation of the smart contract on the Ethereum blockchain. It is assumed a microgrid consists of consumers and prosumers that can produce solar and wind energy. The proposed architecture is a system where the prosumer makes the purchase or sale request in the smart contract and the maximum price obtained through the distribution system operator (DSO) by forecasting. It is aimed to forecast the hourly maximum unit price of energy by using deep learning instead of a fixed pricing. In this way, it will make the system more reliable as there will be more dynamic and accurate pricing. For this purpose, Istanbul's energy generation, energy consumption and market clearing price data were used. The consistency of the available data and forecasting results is observed and discussed with graphs. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=energy%20trading%20smart%20contract" title="energy trading smart contract">energy trading smart contract</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=deep%20learning" title=" deep learning"> deep learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=microgrid" title=" microgrid"> microgrid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=forecasting" title=" forecasting"> forecasting</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ethereum" title=" Ethereum"> Ethereum</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=peer%20to%20peer" title=" peer to peer"> peer to peer</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/152401/a-smart-contract-project-peer-to-peer-energy-trading-with-price-forecasting-in-microgrid" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/152401.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">138</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4</span> Real-Time Mine Safety System with the Internet of Things</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=%C5%9Eakir%20Bing%C3%B6l">艦akir Bing枚l</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bayram%20%C4%B0slamo%C4%9Flu"> Bayram 陌slamo臒lu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ebubekir%20Furkan%20Tepeli"> Ebubekir Furkan Tepeli</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fatih%20Mehmet%20Karakule"> Fatih Mehmet Karakule</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fatih%20K%C3%BC%C3%A7%C3%BCk"> Fatih K眉莽眉k</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Merve%20Sena%20Arpac%C4%B1k"> Merve Sena Arpac谋k</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mustafa%20Taha%20Kabar"> Mustafa Taha Kabar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Muhammet%20Metin%20Molak"> Muhammet Metin Molak</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Osman%20Emre%20Turan"> Osman Emre Turan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=%C3%96mer%20Faruk%20Yesir"> 脰mer Faruk Yesir</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=S%C4%B1la%20%C4%B0nan%C4%B1r"> S谋la 陌nan谋r</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This study introduces an IoT-based real-time safety system for mining, addressing global safety challenges. In this study, a fire room was prepared for the resistance of wooden construction elements and with the mechanism here, the experiments of polished materials were carried out. By utilizing from the experimental data, an artificial neural network (ANN) was modeled in order to evaluate the final cross sections of the wooden samples remaining from the fire. In modelling, experimental data obtained from the fire room were used. In the system developed, the first weight of samples (ws-gr), preliminary cross-section (pcs-mm2), fire time (ft-minute), fire temperature (t-oC) as input parameters and final cross-section (fcs-mm2) as output parameter were taken. When the results obtained from ANN and experimental data are compared after making statistical analyses, the data of two groups are determined to be coherent and seen to have no meaning difference between them. As a result, it is seen that ANN can be safely used in determining cross sections of wooden materials after fire and it prevents many disadvantages. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=artificial%20neural%20network" title="artificial neural network">artificial neural network</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=final%20cross-section" title=" final cross-section"> final cross-section</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fire%20retardant%20polishes" title=" fire retardant polishes"> fire retardant polishes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fire%20safety" title=" fire safety"> fire safety</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wood%20resistance." title=" wood resistance."> wood resistance.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19262/determining-fire-resistance-of-wooden-construction-elements-through-experimental-studies-and-artificial-neural-network" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19262.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">385</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2</span> Evaluating Closed-List Proportional Representation System and Its Compatibility in Contemporary Indonesian Election</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ridho%20Al-Hamdi">Ridho Al-Hamdi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sakir"> Sakir</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tanto%20Lailam"> Tanto Lailam</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> During the democratic period of 1999-present, Indonesia has consistently applied a List Proportional Representation (List PR) system in the parliamentary election. Between 1999 and 2004, it adopted a closed-list proportional representation (CLPR) system. In the meantime, it employed open-list proportional representation (OLPR) system from 2009 to 2019. Recently, some parties intended to propose the application of CLPR while others are still consistent in adopting OLPR. An unfinished debate is taking place. Thus, this article aims to evaluate the application of CLPR in Indonesia and, in turn, analyze its compatibility in contemporary parliamentary election system. From a methodological standpoint, it is qualitative research by applying a case study approach. Data-gathering relies on field data, mainly focus group discussion (FGD) and in-depth interviews with political parties, electoral management bodies (EMBs), NGO activists, and scholars spread in six provinces and nine regencies/cities across the country. Using SWOT analysis and the compatibility of CLPR and embedded democracy framework, the finding demonstrates that CLPR is no longer relevant for contemporary Indonesian elections. This paper recommends OLPR by considering that CLPR has numerous weaknesses and threats that can jeopardize embedded democracy.
