However, before now, if multiple users wanted to view the same analytics reports, each had to log in with the same account information. And, there was no way have more than one default custom email template or blocked domain list without creating multiple accounts. Now, AddThis publishers can organize and share access to analytics and configuration settings using profiles.</p>   <hr/>  <h3>What are Profiles?</h3> <p>It's really just a "bucket" of information with a name and an identifier, or ID - a set of letters and numbers that you include in your code, so we know in which "bucket" analytics data should be collected.</p> <h4>Existing AddThis Publishers</h4> <p>If you are an existing AddThis publisher and collected AddThis analytics data in the past, we've created a profile for you and pre-filled it with your data and any configuration settings you set like marketing preferences, email templates and blocked domains. To make the transition seamless for you, your profile ID is the previous AddThis publisher username that you selected when you registered. No further action is necessary.</p> <h4>New AddThis Publishers</h4> <p>If you are a new AddThis publisher and grabbed AddThis code from our home page or using Get AddThis, we automatically created a profile for you, assigned you a profile ID, and placed this profile ID in your code. You're all set to go.</p> <p>So, if you have been collecting AddThis analytics data, you have a profile already. Many publishers who have simple implementations across one or more websites will never need to use or think about profiles. However, let's look a few circumstances where profiles come in handy.</p>   <hr/>  <h3>Putting Profiles to Work</h3> <p>Here are some situations where you would find profiles useful:</p> <ul> <li>You need to share management of your AddThis implementation with other team members</li> <li>You need to share access to AddThis analytics reports with clients, but don't want them to have unnecessary access to their AddThis implementation</li> <li>You need to manage multiple domains that require different configuration settings like email templates or blocked domain lists</li> </ul>   <hr/>  <h3>Setting Up Sharing</h3> <p>To share your analytics data:</p> <ol> <li>Make sure that you are <a href="//web.archive.org/web/20140702132427/http://www.addthis.com/login">signed in</a> to AddThis</li> <li>Go to <a href="//web.archive.org/web/20140702132427/http://www.addthis.com/settings">Settings</a> and select <a href="//web.archive.org/web/20140702132427/http://www.addthis.com/settings/publisher">Profiles</a></li> <li>Select your profile from the list on this page; most publishers will have only one profile, but some may have set up multiple profiles, or had multiple profiles shared with them</li> <li>Assuming that this is your own profile, or one that was shared with you, you should see multiple configuration options that you can set. If all you see is marketing preferences, this profile was shared with you with limited access privileges.</li> <li>Under Sharing, you will see "You" and the access privileges "View and make changes". To give someone else access, select <strong>Add User</strong>.</li> <li>Enter the email address for the person with whom you want to share access. It should be the address they used when they created their own AddThis account. If they do not have an AddThis account, they're be asked to create one and automatically given access to this profile.</li> <li>Be sure to select what kind of access privileges you want this person to have: <ul> <li>Users with the privileges "View and Make Changes" can alter any settings you see on this page. You might give a team member this kind of access.</li> <li>Users with the privileges "View Reports Only" can see your analytics reports, and select whether they want to receive a weekly analytics email, but can make no other changes to this profile. You might limit access in this way to a client for whom you are managing a website.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Select <strong>Add</strong> and you're done. That user will receive an email notifying them of their access to this profile.</li> <li>To change access privileges for a user, just follow steps 1-4 above, then select the Nickname of the user whose privileges you wish to change.</li> </ol>   <hr/>  <h3>Using Multiple Profiles</h3> <p>If you have multiple teams or multiple clients who need access to AddThis analytics reports, creating additional Profiles for each team or client is the best way to keep things organized.</p> <p>Or, if you are managing multiple websites that require different configuration settings like default email templates or blocked domain lists, multiple profiles will help manage those configurations.</p> <h4>Create a New Profile</h4> <p>Here is how to set up an additional profile:</p> <ol> <li>Go to <a href="//web.archive.org/web/20140702132427/http://www.addthis.com/settings">Settings</a> and select <a href="//web.archive.org/web/20140702132427/http://www.addthis.com/settings/publisher">Profiles</a></li> <li>Select <strong>Add a Profile</strong>, choose a name, and click <strong>Add</strong> to add it to your list of profiles</li> </ol> <h4>Get New AddThis Code</h4> <p>Now that you have more than one profile, when you get AddThis code or view analytics you'll see a drop-down that lets you choose between your profiles. Let's get new AddThis code for you to use with your new Profile.</p> <ol> <li>Go to <a href="//web.archive.org/web/20140702132427/http://www.addthis.com/web-button-select">Get AddThis</a>, select whatever options you like. You'll notice an additional drop-down is now available, <strong>Use This Profile</strong>.</li> <li>Select your new profile from this drop-down, which will insert your new profile's unique ID into your code. This ensures that analytics data collected from any page where you install this code, is associated with this profile.</li> <li>Install this new code in your website or blog, and you're all set to go.</li> </ol> <h4>Managing Profiles</h4> <p>To share your new profile, follow the instructions above, <strong>Setting Up Sharing</strong>. In addition, this new profile has its own set of configuration settings.</p> <ul> <li>Any domains you block are blocked only for this profile</li> <li>Any custom email templates you create, including
