Due consideration was also given in the study to the possible effects of demographic variables on attitudes to their job. To carry out a study of job satisfaction and commitment among the College of Education teachers and to explore the relationship between them, research instruments were used for measuring the levels of job satisfaction and commitment among them. A sample of 200 Colleges of Education teachers, comprising 15 Professors, 9 Principal Lecturers, 70 Senior Lecturer and 106 Lecturers was used for the study. Five major hypothesis were tested with regard to the relationship between job satisfaction and commitment among the teachers. The Pearson correlation, the F-ratio, and regression analysis were used for data analysis and hypothesis testing. The result of this investigation suggests that, perhaps the best way to secure the commitment of teachers is to ensure their job satisfaction. Future investigations will further enrich our knowledge about these very important themes. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=job%20satisfaction" title="job satisfaction">job satisfaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=commitment" title=" commitment"> commitment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=academic%20staff" title=" academic staff"> academic staff</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=college%20of%20education" title=" college of education"> college of education</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/22935/job-satisfaction-and-commitment-among-academic-staff-of-selected-colleges-of-education-in-kano-and-kaduna-states-of-nigeria" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/22935.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">552</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8965</span> Satisfaction of International Tourists during Their Visit to Bangkok, Thailand</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bovornluck%20Kuosuwan">Bovornluck Kuosuwan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kevin%20Wongleedee"> Kevin Wongleedee</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The purposes of this research was to study the level of satisfaction of international tourists in five important areas: satisfaction on visiting tourist destinations, satisfaction on tourist images, satisfaction on value for money, satisfaction on service quality, and satisfaction when compared with their expectation. We know that emotion and affective factors are important factors in students' learning and performance. Emotion has taken the stage in much of contemporary educational psychology literature, no longer relegated to secondary status behind traditionally studied cognitive constructs. Medical school students (n=164) completed academic emotion, major satisfaction, and learning flow online survey. Academic performance was operationalized as students' average grade on two semester exams. For data analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, hierarchical multiple regression analyses and ANOVA were conducted. The results largely confirmed the hypothesized relations among academic emotion, major satisfaction, learning flow and academic achievement. Positive academic emotion had a correlation with academic achievement (β=.191). Positive emotion had 8.5% explanatory power for academic achievement. Especially, sense of accomplishment had a significant impact on learning performance (β=.265). On the other hand, negative emotion, major satisfaction, and learning flow did not affect academic performance. Also, there were differences in sense of great (F=5.446, p=.001) and interest (F=2.78, p=.043) among positive emotion, boredom (F=3.55, p=.016), anger (F=4.346, p=.006), and petulance (F=3.779, p=.012) among negative emotion by grade. This study suggested that medical students' positive emotion was an important contributor to their academic achievement. At the same time, it is important to consider that some negative emotions can act to increase one’s motivation. Of particular importance is the notion that instructors can and should create learning environment that foster positive emotion for students. In doing so, instructors improve their chances of positively impacting students’ achievement emotions, as well as their subsequent motivation, learning, and performance. This result had an implication for medical educators striving to understand the personal emotional factors that influence learning and performance in medical training. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=academic%20achievement" title="academic achievement">academic achievement</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=learning%20emotion" title=" learning emotion"> learning emotion</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=learning%20flow" title=" learning flow"> learning flow</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=major%20satisfaction" title=" major satisfaction"> major satisfaction</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/58446/the-relationships-among-learning-emotion-major-satisfaction-learning-flow-and-academic-achievement-in-medical-school-students" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/58446.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">272</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8962</span> Teachers&#039; Mental Health: Perceived Social Justice and Life Satisfaction</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yan%20Li">Yan Li</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Qi-Fan%20Jia"> Qi-Fan Jia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jie%20Zhou"> Jie Zhou</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In today’s China, primary and secondary teachers are living a hard life with high pressure but low payment, which results in a sense of unfair and less satisfaction of life. However, teachers’ life satisfaction is a significant factor of their mental health and plays an important role in the development and progress of the society. This study was aimed to explore the effect of teachers’ perception of social justice on life satisfaction. 450 primary and secondary teachers from China were measured with life satisfaction scales, social justice scales, income satisfaction scale, job satisfaction scale, pressure condition scale, and major life event scale. Results showed their pressure is significantly higher than average, while life satisfaction, job satisfaction, income satisfaction and perceived social justice are lower. Hierarchical regression analysis showed that demographic variables, i.e., gender, age, education level and matric status, and factors related to occupation, i.e., professional title, school type and working hours per day cannot predict teachers’ life satisfaction. Teachers who had worked for 11-20 years had a lower life satisfaction compared to those with 1-5 years working experience. However, social status, monthly household income, income satisfaction, as well as job satisfaction were positively related to life satisfaction, whereas pressure condition was negatively related to it. After controlling for demographic factors and individual attitudes, social justice still had a positive effect on life satisfaction, among which distributive justice played a more important role than procedural justice. The suggestions on teachers’ condition in China and the implications for education reform to improve teachers’ mental health are discussed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=life%20satisfaction" title="life satisfaction">life satisfaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mental%20health" title=" mental health"> mental health</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=primary%20and%20secondary%20teachers" title=" primary and secondary teachers"> primary and secondary teachers</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=social%20justice" title=" social justice"> social justice</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/75007/teachers-mental-health-perceived-social-justice-and-life-satisfaction" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/75007.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">320</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8961</span> The Role of Sexual Satisfaction Sexual Satisfaction in Marital Satisfaction Married Men</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maghsoud%20Nader%20Pilehroud">Maghsoud Nader Pilehroud</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohmmad%20Alizadeh"> Mohmmad Alizadeh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Soheila%20Golipour"> Soheila Golipour</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sedigeh%20Tajabadipour"> Sedigeh Tajabadipour</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Aim: in terms of importance, sexual issues are of the highest priority in married life issues and sexual compatibility is of the most important reasons of success in married life and consequently marital satisfaction.the present research was conducted with the aim of The role of sexual satisfaction sexual satisfaction in marital satisfaction married men. They also play an important role in promoting quality of life (QoL). The distance running enhances participants’ life satisfaction and provides positive experiences in physical activity. This study aims to measure the perception of QoL and to find the effect on satisfaction and intent to return for distance runners. Exploratory factor analysis is carried out to extract four major factorial dimensions of QoL, including multiple functions, spiritual, physical and cognitive factors. The main factors of QoL will be introduced into the regression function on satisfaction and return intention. The results show that the QoL factors including multiple functions, spiritual, physical and cognitive factors have a positive and significant impact on satisfaction for participants. This necessitates that principals are capable to correctly identify their emotionally intelligent behaviours (EIBs) they need to use in order to be successful leaders. They also need to have knowledge of their emotional intelligence and be able to identify the factors and situations that evoke emotion at an interpersonal level. If a principal is able to do this, then the control and understanding of emotions and behaviours of oneself and others could improve vastly. This study focuses on the interpersonal EIBS of principals affecting the job satisfaction of teachers. The correlation coefficients in this quantitative study strongly indicate that there is a statistical significance between the respondents’ level of job satisfaction, the rating of their principals’ EIBs and how they believe their principals’ EIBs will affect their sense of job satisfaction. It can be concluded from the data obtained in this study that there is a significant correlation between the sense of job satisfaction of teachers and their principals’ interpersonal EIBs. This means that the more satisfied a teacher is at school, the more appropriate and meaningful a principal’s EIBs will be. Conversely, the more dissatisfied a teacher is at school the less appropriate and less meaningful a principal’s interpersonal EIBs will be. This implies that the leaders’ EIBs can be construed as one of the major factors affecting the job satisfaction of employees. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=emotional%20intelligence" title="emotional intelligence">emotional intelligence</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=teachers%27%20emotions" title=" teachers&#039; emotions"> teachers&#039; emotions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=teachers%27%20job%20satisfaction" title=" teachers&#039; job satisfaction"> teachers&#039; job satisfaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=principals%27%20emotionally%20intelligent%20behaviours" title=" principals&#039; emotionally intelligent behaviours"> principals&#039; emotionally intelligent behaviours</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36000/teachers-perceptions-of-their-principals-interpersonal-emotionally-intelligent-behaviours-affecting-their-job-satisfaction" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36000.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">472</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8955</span> Employees’ Satisfaction and Engagement in UAE: Antecedents and Outcomes</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sareh%20Rajabi">Sareh Rajabi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Taha%20Anjamrooz"> Taha Anjamrooz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ahmed%20Hassan%20%20Almarzooqi"> Ahmed Hassan Almarzooqi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Employee satisfaction, engagement, and performance are crucial for successful organizations. Variation was seen by university and sometimes by engineering major. Overall, however, the satisfaction with courses that promote employability is not high by graduates, and there is a gap between employers’ satisfaction and their expectation. Importantly, students’ satisfaction degree of the curricula enhancing employability and employers’ satisfaction degree of graduates’ employability are significantly lower than employers’ expectation value. Therefore, engineering curriculum reform must take the stakeholders’ demand into account and integrate employability into curricula. These findings provide the empirical basis for the curriculum reform of the National Excellent Engineers Education Program (NE3P) in China. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=engineering%20education" title="engineering education">engineering education</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=employability%20of%20graduates" title=" employability of graduates"> employability of graduates</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=stakeholders" title=" stakeholders"> stakeholders</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=survey" title=" survey"> survey</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/50408/engineering-graduates-employability-in-the-eyes-of-stakeholders-based-on-the-survey-to-6-universities-and-20-enterprises-in-china" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/50408.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">376</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8947</span> The Role of Emotional Intelligence on Job Performance and Job Satisfaction: An Empirical Investigation of the Jordanian Universities </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alfalah%20Tasneem">Alfalah Tasneem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abdallah%20Bataineh"> Abdallah Bataineh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Falah%20Jannat"> Falah Jannat</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alfalah%20Salsabeel"> Alfalah Salsabeel</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The term emotional intelligence has been unnoticed by a number of scholars in the early 1990s, which was then a major factor that many business managers became interested in understanding its meaning, functions and how it could be integrated in their business life, emotional intelligence is very important for the top managers, to operate in emotionally intelligence way to meet the needs of their employees. The advent of new digital technologies and ongoing advancements in ICT have profoundly transformed business operations. Citizen engagement and participation in e-government services are crucial for the system's success. However, it is essential to measure and enhance citizen satisfaction levels to effectively evaluate and improve these systems. Citizen satisfaction is a key criterion that allows government institutions to assess the quality of their services. There is a strong connection between information quality, service quality, and system quality, all of which directly impact user satisfaction. Additionally, both system quality and information quality have indirect effects on citizen satisfaction. A causal map, which is a network diagram representing causes and effects, can illustrate these relationships. According to the literature, the main factors influencing citizen satisfaction are trust, reliability, citizen support, convenience, and transparency. This paper investigates the causal relationships among these factors and identifies any interrelatedness between them. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=e-government%20services" title="e-government services">e-government services</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=e-satisfaction" title=" e-satisfaction"> e-satisfaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=citizen%20satisfaction" title=" citizen satisfaction"> citizen satisfaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=causal%20map." title=" causal map."> causal map.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/189740/citizens-satisfaction-causal-factors-in-e-government-services" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/189740.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">25</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8945</span> Comparison of Self-Efficacy and Life Satisfaction in Normal Users and Users with Internet Addiction</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mansour%20Abdi">Mansour Abdi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hadi%20Molaei%20Yasavoli"> Hadi Molaei Yasavoli</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The purpose of this research is to comparison of self- efficacy and life satisfaction in normal users and users with internet addiction. One of the major debilitating effects of the legacy of apartheid is a high level of illiteracy in the South African population. Encouraging the corporate sector through levies to promote skills development seems to have been received with mixed feelings. In this regard, the impact of training on the motivation level and job satisfaction of randomly sampled employees of five companies in two South African provinces is reported on. A longitudinal study, with a pre- and post-quasi experimental research design, was adopted to achieve the goal of the study - using a Job Description Index (JDI) measuring instrument to collect data from the respondents. There was a significant correlation between job satisfaction and effectiveness of training transfer - i.e. those employees who received more training were more motivated than those who received less training or no training at all. It is concluded that managers need to appreciate and ensure that the effectiveness of skills transfer is a critical determinant, that must illuminate the underlying challenges of achieving bottom-line targets. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=employee%20motivation" title="employee motivation">employee motivation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=skills%20transfer" title=" skills transfer"> skills transfer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=moderating%20effect" title=" moderating effect"> moderating effect</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=job%20satisfaction" title=" job satisfaction"> job satisfaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lower-level%20employees" title=" lower-level employees"> lower-level employees</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/7325/the-impact-of-skills-development-training-on-lower-level-employees-motivation-and-job-satisfaction-a-case-study-of-five-south-african-companies" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/7325.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">313</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8943</span> The Roles of Pay Satisfaction and Intent to Leave on Counterproductive Work Behavior among Non-Academic University Employees </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abiodun%20Musbau%20Lawal">Abiodun Musbau Lawal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sunday%20Samson%20Babalola"> Sunday Samson Babalola</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Uzor%20Friday%20Ordu"> Uzor Friday Ordu</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Issue of employees counterproductive work behavior in government owned organization in emerging economies has continued to be a major concern. This study investigated the factors of pay satisfaction, intent to leave and age as predictors of counterproductive work behavior among non-academic employee in a Nigerian federal government owned university. A sample of 200 non-academic employees completed questionnaires. Hierarchical multiple regression was conducted to determine the contribution of each of the predictor variables on the criterion variable on counterproductive work behavior. Results indicate that age of participants (β = -.18; p < .05) significantly independently predicted CWB by accounting for 3% of the explained variance. Addition of pay satisfaction (β = -.14; p < .05) significantly accounted for 5% of the explained variance, while intent to leave (β = -.17; p < .05) further resulted in 8% of the explained variance in counterproductive work behavior. The importance of these findings with regards to reduction in counterproductive work behavior is highlighted. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=counterproductive" title="counterproductive">counterproductive</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=work%20behaviour" title=" work behaviour"> work behaviour</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pay%20satisfaction" title=" pay satisfaction"> pay satisfaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=intent%20to%20leave" title=" intent to leave"> intent to leave</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/57766/the-roles-of-pay-satisfaction-and-intent-to-leave-on-counterproductive-work-behavior-among-non-academic-university-employees" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/57766.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">384</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8942</span> The Impact of E-Markiting on Consumer Satisfaction</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Malki%20Fatima%20Zahra%20Nadia">Malki Fatima Zahra Nadia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kellal%20Chaimaa"> Kellal Chaimaa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Brahimi%20Houria"> Brahimi Houria</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The world has witnessed a great revolution in to field of technology and communication, especially after the opening of markets (globalization) . Design/methodology/approach: This study collected data through a survey and utilized simple linear regression and multiple regression analysis to determine if there was any support for the research hypotheses as presented in the previous chapter. Findings: Using data from 256 employees of four leading joint stock banks in Vietnam, the empirical results indicates that employee commitment is positively related with external market orientation, job satisfaction is positively related to employee commitment, and employee commitment and job satisfaction are positively related to external market orientation. However, job satisfaction has no significant positive effect on external market orientation. Theoretical contribution: The primary contribution to marketing theory arising from this study is the integration of job satisfaction, employee commitment, and external market orientation in a single research model. Practical implications: The major contribution to practice is an external market oriented bank has to respond rapidly to the future needs and preferences of its customers. This could result in high levels of commitment to the service process and in doing so provide Vietnamese joint-stock commercial banks with a competitive advantage. The finding is important for the banking service sector in general and the Vietnamese banking industry in particular. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=employee%20commitment" title="employee commitment">employee commitment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=job%20satisfaction%20and%20external%20market%20orientation" title=" job satisfaction and external market orientation"> job satisfaction and external market orientation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vietnam" title=" vietnam"> vietnam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bank" title=" bank"> bank</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/43255/the-relationship-between-employee-commitment-job-satisfaction-and-external-market-orientation-in-vietnamese-joint-stock-commercial-banks" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/43255.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">414</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8940</span> Organizational Commitment and Job Satisfaction among Health Professionals of a Maternity Ward in Lubango, Angola</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maria%20Vueba">Maria Vueba</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tchilissila%20A.%20Simoes"> Tchilissila A. Nurses are the main actors combating different types of diseases simultaneously dealing with a lack of essentials tools and means. In this study, we aimed to assess the organizational commitment and job satisfaction of 51 health professionals from a maternity ward in Lubango, Angola. Participants completed the Organizational Commitment Questionnaire and the Job Satisfaction Scale and demonstrated a strong commitment towards the maternal facility, despite the majority of them were not satisfied with their work. Moreover, the gender and years of service seemed to not influence the level of commitment and satisfaction among the professionals. These results show the need for organizational restructuration (i.e., wages, career progression, supervision) to increase job satisfaction in this institution. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Africa" title="Africa">Africa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=health%20professionals" title=" health professionals"> health professionals</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=organizational%20commitment" title=" organizational commitment"> organizational commitment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=work%20satisfaction" title=" work satisfaction"> work satisfaction</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/126809/organizational-commitment-and-job-satisfaction-among-health-professionals-of-a-maternity-ward-in-lubango-angola" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/126809.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">157</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8939</span> Retirement Planning and Job Satisfaction: Cushion to Avoid Bridge Employment?</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zaiton%20Osman">Zaiton Osman</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Imbarine%20Bujang"> Imbarine Bujang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Azaze-Azizi%20Abdul%20Adis"> Azaze-Azizi Abdul Adis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Grace%20Phang%20Ing"> Grace Phang Ing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohd%20Rizwan%20Abdul%20Majid"> Mohd Rizwan Abdul Majid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Izyanti%20Awang%20Razli"> Izyanti Awang Razli</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Retirement forces older workers to disconnect with their previous behavioural patterns and economic position. Transition and adjustment from working life to retirement places create psychological pressure and financial distress on older workers, especially those with dependent children. Bridge employment provides a solution for older workers to continue working after retirement while transitioning into retirement slowly and smoothly. As losing the job role has a significant impact on the psychological well-being of retirees, engageing in bridge employment helps to fulfill the important psychological functions of older workers by providing an adaptive style to retirement. This study investigates the influence of retirement planning and job satisfaction on bridge employment. A self-administered questionnaire was used in this study and a total of 523 samples were collected for nine major district in Sabah. Data were analysed using Partial Least Square (PLS) method wersion 2.0. Hierarchical regression analysis (HRA) technique was employed to examine factors’ contributions to teacher job satisfaction with a sample of Chinese high school teachers. The finding of this study provided evidence that teachers’ perceived transformational leadership behaviors accounted for a large percentage (44.9%) of the variance in Chinese teachers’ job satisfaction. Uniquely, school principals’ sense of power was a negative significant predictor of teacher job satisfaction, meaning that the more teachers perceived their principals’ sense of power, the lower of their job satisfaction. Furthermore, this study provided evidence that teacher self-efficacy significantly contributes to teacher job satisfaction. Specifically, teachers’ self-efficacy on student engagement was found to be a significant predictor of teacher job satisfaction. The conclusions were discussed in terms of Chinese cultures. The authors pointed out that how to make teachers involved in school policy making is a challenge for China and that more shared leadership is needed in Chinese schools. <p
