An earlier priest of this same name is mentioned in <a href="/1_chronicles/9-12.htm">1 Chronicles 9:12</a>, who is again mentioned in <a href="/nehemiah/11-12.htm">Nehemiah 11:12</a>; <a href="/jeremiah/21-1.htm">Jeremiah 21:1</a>; <a href="/jeremiah/38-1.htm">Jeremiah 38:1</a>. The name in our present verse is probably the same (but used to mark a family and not the individual) as that found in <a href="/nehemiah/10-3.htm">Nehemiah 10:3</a> (see also <a href="/nehemiah/12-42.htm">Nehemiah 12:42</a>). The <span class="accented">Malchijah</span> of <a href="/nehemiah/3-11.htm">Nehemiah 3:11</a> and <a href="/ezra/10-25.htm">Ezra 10:25</a> is the name of an Israelitish layman. <span class="cmt_word">Mijamin</span>.
