The modern healthcare environment is intricate, involving numerous specialists, advanced technologies, and sophisticated treatments. This complexity can lead to various safety challenges, such as medication errors, surgical complications, infections, and misdiagnoses. Each of these issues can have serious consequences for patients, ranging from prolonged hospital stays to severe harm or even death. Therefore, addressing patient safety is critical to delivering high-quality care and maintaining public trust in the healthcare system. One of the key components of patient safety is the establishment of standardized protocols and procedures. These guidelines help ensure that healthcare providers follow best practices and reduce variability in care. For example, the implementation of surgical checklists has been shown to significantly reduce surgical complications and improve patient outcomes.
