angewandte Wissenschaften</strong> in Sachsen <strong></strong>bieten <strong></strong>ein vielseitiges Studienangebot von den Geisteswissenschaften bis zu Mathematik, Informatik, Naturwissenschaften und Technik. Darüber hinaus gibt es im Freistaat das besondere Angebot der <strong>Dualen Hochschule Sachsen</strong> mit ihren 7 Standorten.</p> <p><strong>Die Leistungsfähigkeit der Hochschulen</strong> zeigt sich in herausragenden Forschungsergebnissen, in einem schnellen Transfer von Erkenntnissen und Entwicklungen in Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft und in der großen Zahl von gut qualifizierten Absolventinnen und Absolventen.</p> <p><strong>Gemeinsam mit den zahlreichen außeruniversitären Forschungseinrichtungen</strong> sind die Hochschulen die Hauptsäulen der sächsischen Forschungslandschaft. Das Spektrum der Hochschulforschung reicht von der Grundlagenforschung bis zur angewandten Forschung und Entwicklung für die Wirtschaft. Die Hochschulen haben auch eigenständige Forschungszentren sowie An-Institute geschaffen. Diese fungieren dadurch immer besser als Mittler zwischen Hochschule und regionaler Wirtschaft und befördern auch den Technologietransfer in die Wirtschaftsunternehmen der jeweiligen Wissensregion.
