<A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/2_timothy/1-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose, and grace bestowed upon us through Christ Jesus, before the world was, <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/2_timothy/1-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>but now made manifest by the appearance of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light by the gospel: for which I was appointed an herald, <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/2_timothy/1-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>and an apostle, and a teacher of the gentiles: <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/2_timothy/1-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>for which cause also I suffer these <i>things;</i> but I am not ashamed: for I know <i>in</i> whom I have trusted, and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him against that day.<p> <A name="14"></a><p class="hdg">Holding to Sound Teaching<p><span class="reftext"><a href="/2_timothy/1-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>Hold <i>fast</i> the form of sound words, which thou hast heard from me, in faith and love <i>which is</i> in Christ Jesus. <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/2_timothy/1-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>The good thing committed to thee keep, through the Holy Spirit which dwelleth in us.<p> <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/2_timothy/1-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>Thou knowest that all those of Asia are turned from me, of whom is Phygellus and Hermogenes. <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/2_timothy/1-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>The Lord shew mercy to the family of Onesiphorus; for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain: but when he was at Rome, <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/2_timothy/1-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>he sought for me <i>the</i> more diligently, and found <i>me.</i> <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_timothy/1-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>(The Lord grant that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day!)
