assistance</h3> <p>Visitor Assistants are on hand both outside and within the Palace of Westminster to help answer any questions you might have about access concerns.</p> <p>If you are visiting either on a tour, to watch debates or for business reasons, they will be happy to advise and assist you to your destination if required.</p> <h3>Wheelchair users</h3> <p>All tours are accessible by wheelchair users. Alternative routes and viewing points exist for visitors with large motorised wheelchairs. One stop (of seventeen) on the tour requires a slight detour before rejoining the main group.</p> <p>The public galleries of both Houses and committee rooms are wheelchair accessible or have space set aside for wheelchairs.</p> <h3>Visually impaired visitors</h3> <p>Guide dogs can accompany their owners on tours. They are also welcome in the public galleries and committee rooms, but only two at a time within the galleries. If there is no space, visitors may leave their dog with the police.</p> <h3>Deaf or hard of hearing visitors</h3> <p>An interpreter (BSL signer) may accompany you on a tour. Parliament staff will make every effort to arrange this through Action on Hearing Loss. As Signers are in heavy demand, we would appreciate as much notice as possible to enable the arrangements to be made.</p> <p>Two members of the Visitor Assistance team are qualified to Level 2 in British Sign Language and can be called upon to help answer basic enquires.</p> <p>For visitors with hearing aids, induction loops are available from the Westminster Hall desk for use during tours.  Also available from the desk are transmitters and receivers for those visitors on tours who are hard of reading.  Please see a Visitor Assistant who will be happy to help. </p> <p>Visitors to the public galleries and committee Rooms must arrange their own interpreters and we require advance notification of their attendance. Contact the Admission Order Officer on 020 7219 3700. The public galleries and committee rooms are fitted with induction loops.</p> <h3>Refreshments and Toilets</h3> <p>The public Jubilee Cafe is located just off of Westminster Hall and is wheelchair accessible via a small self-operated lift. Within this area are the public toilet facilities which can be reached by the same lift if required. An accessible public toilet, including a changing bench and a hoist, can also be found in Lower Waiting Hall, located just off Central Lobby.
