caters for the broadcasters, freelances and students of the North East of England and Cumbria. Most of our meetings are in the Newcastle area, but we also hold events in Teesside and Carlisle. The majority are on weekday evenings, but on occasion we ring the changes with weekend or daytime meetings. We aim to provide a mix of topics to suit everyone interested in Television in the Region, at whatever level. Click the on the <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20141008050518/http://www.rts.org.uk/events-%E2%80%94-north-east-and-border" target="_blank">Events </a>button on the left for the latest details — visitors are always welcome.</p> <p>Our 'Last Wednesday' monthly networking events for media professionals in the region are taking a summer break.. They're normally held in the ground floor (Kitchen) Bar at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Arts — drop in between 1800 and 2100.  When they resume, details will be in the <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20141008050518/http://www.rts.org.uk/events-%E2%80%94-north-east-and-border" target="_blank">Events </a>section.</p> <p>Our annual North East & The Border Centre Awards Dinner is now an established high point in the region's television year. The 2014 Awards will be held at The Hilton Hotel, Gateshead on February 28th 2015, and you can find the more details of the categories, and entry forms, via the <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20141008050518/http://www.rts.org.uk/awards-%E2%80%94-north-east-and-border-0">Awards</a> link on the left.</p> <p>The <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20141008050518/http://www.rts.org.uk/reports-%E2%80%94-north-east-and-border">Reports</a> section includes reports from events and selected Centre meetings.</p> <p>The RTS considers it essential to encourage and foster the next generation of television practitioners. The North East & The Border Centre's <a href="young-peoples-media-festival">Young People's Media Festival</a> is an important event in the regional calendar.</p> <p>Our <a href="creative-forum">Creative Forum</a> is a place for television practitioners to exchange their own personal Hints and Tips — those pet ideas and discoveries that make life in the business just that little bit easier.
