development for decades has favored companies that can put their products to market quickly and efficiently, providing sustainable competitive advantage difficult to be achieved by their competitors. This paper presents the outcomes of a systematic review of the literature relating to new product development that was published between 1992 and 2012. A hybrid methodological approach that combines bibliometrics, content analysis and semantic analysis was applied. The review discusses the publication patterns, focusing on aspects related to scientific collaboration. The results show that the main academic journal that discusses this theme is “Journal of Product Innovation Management”. Although the first paper relating to this theme was published in 1992, the number of publications on the subject only began to increase substantially in 1999. Most of the studies reviewed in this paper applied qualitative research methods, indicating that most of the research on the theme is still in an exploratory phase. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=project%20type" title="project type">project type</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=project%20typology" title=" project typology"> project typology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=new%20product%20development" title=" new product development"> new product development</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sustainable%20competitive%20advantage" title=" sustainable competitive advantage"> sustainable competitive advantage</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/6850/new-product-development-typologies-an-analysis-of-publications-and-citations-between-1992-and-2012" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/6850.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">448</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">204</span> Identity Conflict between Social and Business Entrepreneurs: The Challenge of Constructing a Novel Social Identity</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rui%20G.%20Ser%C3%B4dio">Rui G. Specifically, we address how both differentiation and assimilation processes are set of in the context of constructing a novel, distinctive and socially salient – social entrepreneurs. As part of a larger research line, a quasi-experimental study with Social and Business Entrepreneurs, as well as “Lay People” provided evidence consistent with our predictions: (1) Social Entrepreneurs, in contrast with Lay People and Business Entrepreneurs, value more strongly social identity than personal identity, and the later is the only group that values Personal Differentiation; (2) unlike Entrepreneurs, Social Entrepreneurs display an ingroup bias across group evaluations; (3) Lay People, display a self-serving bias, although, overall, they allocate a more positive image to the target groups; (4) combining own vs. others evaluations across all groups, Social Entrepreneurs receive the more positive value. From the standpoint of social identity and self-categorization theories and their approach to group process, we discuss the processes of intergroup comparison and differentiation as core processes in the construction of a positive social identity. We illustrate it within the context of social entrepreneurship, a political and social “wave” that flows across Europe at this time. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=group%20processes" title="group processes">group processes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=social%20entrepreneurship" title=" social entrepreneurship"> social entrepreneurship</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=social%20identity" title=" social identity"> social identity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=business%20entrepreneurs" title=" business entrepreneurs"> business entrepreneurs</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/23085/identity-conflict-between-social-and-business-entrepreneurs-the-challenge-of-constructing-a-novel-social-identity" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/23085.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">696</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">203</span> A Model of Applied Psychology Research Defining Community Participation and Collective Identity as a Major Asset for Strategic Planning and Political Decision: The Project SIA (Social Inclusion through Accessibility)</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rui%20Ser%C3%B4dio">Rui Serôdio</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alexandra%20Serra"> Alexandra Serra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jos%C3%A9%20Albino%20Lima"> José Albino Lima</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lu%C3%ADsa%20Catita"> Luísa Catita</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Paula%20Lopes"> Paula Lopes</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> We will present the outline of the Project SIA (Social Inclusion through Accessibility) focusing in one of its core components: how our applied research model contributes to define community participation as a pillar for strategic and political agenda amongst local authorities. Project ISA, supported by EU regional funding, was design as part of a broader model developed by SIMLab–Social Inclusion Monitoring Laboratory, in which the relation University-Community is a core element. The project illustrates how University of Porto developed a large scale project of applied psychology research in a close partnership with 18 municipalities that cover almost all regions of Portugal, and with a private architecture enterprise, specialized in inclusive accessibility and “design for all”. Three fundamental goals were defined: (1) creation of a model that would promote the effective civic participation of local citizens; (2) the “voice” of such participation should be both individual and collective; (3) the scientific and technical framework should serve as one of the bases for political decision on inclusive accessibility local planning. The two main studies were run in a standardized model across all municipalities and the samples of the three modalities of community participation were the following: individual participation based on 543 semi-structured interviews and 6373 inquiries; collective participation based on group session with 302 local citizens. We present some of the broader findings of Project SIA and discuss how they relate to our applied research model. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=applied%20psychology" title="applied psychology">applied psychology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=collective%20identity" title=" collective identity"> collective identity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=community%20participation" title=" community participation"> community participation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=inclusive%20accessibility" title=" inclusive accessibility"> inclusive accessibility</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/27740/a-model-of-applied-psychology-research-defining-community-participation-and-collective-identity-as-a-major-asset-for-strategic-planning-and-political-decision-the-project-sia-social-inclusion-through-accessibility" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/27740.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">447</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">202</span> 3D Dentofacial Surgery Full Planning Procedures</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oliveira%20M.">Oliveira M.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gon%C3%A7alves%20L."> Gonçalves L.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Francisco%20I."> Francisco I.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Caramelo%20F."> Caramelo F.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vale%20F."> Vale F.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sanz%20D."> Sanz D.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Domingues%20M."> Domingues M.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lopes%20M."> Lopes M.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Moreia%20D."> Moreia D.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lopes%20T."> Lopes T.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Santos%20T."> Santos T.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cardoso%20H."> Cardoso H.</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The ARTHUR project consists of a platform that allows the virtual performance of maxillofacial surgeries, offering, in a photorealistic concept, the possibility for the patient to have an idea of the surgical changes before they are performed on their face. For this, the system brings together several image formats, dicoms and objs that, after loading, will generate the bone volume, soft tissues and hard tissues. The system also incorporates the patient's stereophotogrammetry, in addition to their data and clinical history. After loading and inserting data, the clinician can virtually perform the surgical operation and present the final result to the patient, generating a new facial surface that contemplates the changes made in the bone and tissues of the maxillary area. This tool acts in different situations that require facial reconstruction, however this project focuses specifically on two types of use cases: bone congenital disfigurement and acquired disfiguration such as oral cancer with bone attainment. Being developed a cloud based solution, with mobile support, the tool aims to reduce the decision time window of patient. Because the current simulations are not realistic or, if realistic, need time due to the need of building plaster models, patient rates on decision, rely on a long time window (1,2 months), because they don’t identify themselves with the presented surgical outcome. On the other hand, this planning was performed time based on average estimated values of the position of the maxilla and mandible. The team was based on averages of the facial measurements of the population, without specifying racial variability, so the proposed solution was not adjusted to the real individual physiognomic needs. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=3D%20computing" title="3D computing">3D computing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=image%20processing" title=" image processing"> image processing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=image%20registry" title=" image registry"> image registry</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=image%20reconstruction" title=" image reconstruction"> image reconstruction</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/144601/3d-dentofacial-surgery-full-planning-procedures" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/144601.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">206</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">201</span> Effect of Locally Injected Mesenchymal Stem Cells on Bone Regeneration of Rat Calvaria Defects</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gileade%20P.%20Freitas">Gileade P. However, the extent of injury may exceed the inherent tissue regeneration capability demanding some kind of additional intervention. In this scenario, cell therapy has emerged as a promising alternative to treat challenging bone defects. This study aimed at evaluating the effect of local injection of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) and adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AT-MSCs) on bone regeneration of rat calvaria defects. BM-MSCs and AT-MSCs were isolated and characterized by expression of surface markers; cell viability was evaluated after injection through a 21G needle. Defects of 5 mm in diameter were created in calvaria and after two weeks a single injection of BM-MSCs, AT-MSCs or vehicle-PBS without cells (Control) was carried out. Cells were tracked by bioluminescence and at 4 weeks post-injection bone formation was evaluated by micro-computed tomography (μCT) and histology, nanoindentation, and through gene expression of bone remodeling markers. The data were evaluated by one-way analysis of variance (p≤0.05). BM-MSCs and AT-MSCs presented characteristics of mesenchymal stem cells, kept viability after passing through a 21G needle and remained in the defects until day 14. In general, injection of both BM-MSCs and AT-MSCs resulted in higher bone formation compared to Control. Additionally, this bone tissue displayed elastic modulus and hardness similar to the pristine calvaria bone. The expression of all evaluated genes involved in bone formation was upregulated in bone tissue formed by BM-MSCs compared to AT-MSCs while genes involved in bone resorption were upregulated in AT-MSCs-formed bone. We show that cell therapy based on the local injection of BM-MSCs or AT-MSCs is effective in delivering viable cells that displayed local engraftment and induced a significant improvement in bone healing. Despite differences in the molecular cues observed between BM-MSCs and AT-MSCs, both cells were capable of forming bone tissue at comparable amounts and properties. These findings may drive cell therapy approaches toward the complete bone regeneration of challenging sites. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cell%20therapy" title="cell therapy">cell therapy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mesenchymal%20stem%20cells" title=" mesenchymal stem cells"> mesenchymal stem cells</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bone%20repair" title=" bone repair"> bone repair</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cell%20culture" title=" cell culture"> cell culture</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/103816/effect-of-locally-injected-mesenchymal-stem-cells-on-bone-regeneration-of-rat-calvaria-defects" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/103816.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">184</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">200</span> Effect of Temperature and CuO Nanoparticle Concentration on Thermal Conductivity and Viscosity of a Phase Change Material</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=V.%20Bastian%20Aguila">V. The nanofluid was made by using octadecane as a base fluid and CuO spherical nanoparticles of 75 nm (MkNano). Since the base fluid is a phase change material (PCM) to be used in thermal storage applications, the engineered nanofluid is referred as nanoPCM. Three nanoPCM were prepared through the two-step method (2.5, 5.0 and 10.0%wv). In order to increase the stability of the nanoPCM, the surface of the CuO nanoparticles was modified with sodium oleate, and it was verified by IR analysis. The modified CuO nanoparticles were dispersed by using an ultrasonic horn (Hielscher UP50H) during one hour (amplitude of 180 μm at 50 W). The thermal conductivity was measured by using a thermal properties analyzer (KD2-Pro) in the temperature range of 30ºC to 40ºC. The viscosity was measured by using a Brookfield DV2T-LV viscosimeter to 30 RPM in the temperature range of 30ºC to 55ºC. The obtained results for the nanoPCM showed that thermal conductivity is almost constant in the analyzed temperature range, and the viscosity decreases non-linearly with temperature. Respect to the effect of the nanoparticle concentration, both thermal conductivity and viscosity increased with nanoparticle concentration. The thermal conductivity raised up to 9% respect to the base fluid, and the viscosity increases up to 60%, in both cases for the higher concentration. Finally, the viscosity measurements for different rotation speeds (30 RPM - 80 RPM) exhibited that the addition of nanoparticles modifies the rheological behavior of the base fluid, from a Newtonian to a viscoplastic (Bingham) or shear thinning (power-law) non-Newtonian behavior. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=NanoPCM" title="NanoPCM">NanoPCM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=thermal%20conductivity" title=" thermal conductivity"> thermal conductivity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=viscosity" title=" viscosity"> viscosity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=non-Newtonian%20fluid" title=" non-Newtonian fluid"> non-Newtonian fluid</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/60397/effect-of-temperature-and-cuo-nanoparticle-concentration-on-thermal-conductivity-and-viscosity-of-a-phase-change-material" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/60397.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">419</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">199</span> Using Textual Pre-Processing and Text Mining to Create Semantic Links</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ricardo%20Avila">Ricardo Avila</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gabriel%20Lopes"> Gabriel Lopes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vania%20Vidal"> Vania Vidal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jose%20Macedo"> Jose Macedo</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This article offers a approach to the automatic discovery of semantic concepts and links in the domain of Oil Exploration and Production (E&amp;P). Online communication can be used to intentionally harm someone, which is why such classifiers could be essential in social networks. A possible application of these classifiers is the automatic detection of cyberbullying. Even though identifying the aggressive language used in online interactions could be important to build cyberbullying datasets, there are other criteria that must be considered. Being able to capture the language, which is indicative of the intent to harm others in a specific context of online interaction is fundamental. Offense and hate speech may be the foundation of online conflicts, which have become commonly used in social media and are an emergent research focus in machine learning and natural language processing. This study presents two Portuguese language offense-related datasets which serve as examples for future research and extend the study of the topic. The first is similar to other offense detection related datasets and is entitled Aggressiveness dataset. The second is a novelty because of the use of the history of the interaction between users and is entitled the Conflicts/Attacks dataset. Both datasets were developed in different phases. Firstly, we performed a content analysis of verbal aggression witnessed by adolescents in situations of cyberbullying. Secondly, we computed frequency analyses from the previous phase to gather lexical and linguistic cues used to identify potentially aggressive conflicts and attacks which were posted on Twitter. Thirdly, thorough annotation of real tweets was performed byindependent postgraduate educational psychologists with experience in cyberbullying research. Lastly, we benchmarked these datasets with other machine learning classifiers. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=aggression" title="aggression">aggression</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=classifiers" title=" classifiers"> classifiers</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cyberbullying" title=" cyberbullying"> cyberbullying</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=datasets" title=" datasets"> datasets</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hate%20speech" title=" hate speech"> hate speech</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=machine%20learning" title=" machine learning"> machine learning</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/142382/detecting-hate-speech-and-cyberbullying-using-natural-language-processing" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/142382.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">228</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">195</span> Design and Study of a DC/DC Converter for High Power, 14.4 V and 300 A for Automotive Applications</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=J%C3%BAlio%20Cesar%20Lopes%20de%20Oliveira">Júlio Cesar Lopes de Oliveira</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Carlos%20Henrique%20Gon%C3%A7alves%20Treviso"> Carlos Henrique Gonçalves Treviso</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The shortage of the automotive market in relation to options for sources of high power car audio systems, led to development of this work. To evaluate the quality of this proposed model, experiments were performed by the use of two sets containing new relations, being one generated automatically and the other manually mapped by the domain expert. The applied evaluation metrics were precision, recall, f-score, and confidence interval. The results obtained demonstrate that the applied method in the field of Oil Production and Extraction (E&amp;P) is effective, which suggests that it can be used to improve the quality of terminological mappings. The removal is very expensive due to the high cost of normal adsorbents. Lignocellulosic materials and mainly treated materials have proven to be a good solution for this problem. Adsorption tests were performed at different pH, different times and with varying concentrations. Results show that is at pH 3 that treated wood absorbs more chromium ranging from 70% (2h treatment) to almost 100% (12 h treatment) much more than untreated wood with less than 40%. Most of the adsorption is made in the first 2-3 hours for untreated and heat treated wood. Modified wood adsorbs more chromium throughout the time. For all the samples, adsorption fitted relatively well the Langmuir model with correlation coefficient ranging from 0.85 to 0.97. The results show that heat treated wood is a good adsorbent ant that this might be a good utilization for sawdust from treating companies. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=adsorption" title="adsorption">adsorption</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chromium" title=" chromium"> chromium</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=heat%20treatment" title=" heat treatment"> heat treatment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wood%20modification" title=" wood modification"> wood modification</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/11132/chromium-adsorption-by-modified-wood" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/11132.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">499</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">192</span> Measuring the Effect of a Music Therapy Intervention in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Spain</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pablo%20Gonz%C3%A1lez%20%C3%81lvarez">Pablo González Álvarez</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anna%20Vinaixa%20Verg%C3%A9s"> Anna Vinaixa Vergés</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Paula%20Sol%20Ventura"> Paula Sol Ventura</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Paula%20Fern%C3%A1ndez"> Paula Fernández</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Merc%C3%A8%20Redorta"> Mercè Redorta</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gemma%20Ginovart%20Galiana"> Gemma Ginovart Galiana</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maria%20M%C3%A9ndez%20Hern%C3%A1ndez"> Maria Méndez Hernández</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Context: The use of music therapy is gaining popularity worldwide, and it has shown positive effects in neonatology. Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol has recently established a music therapy unit and initiated a project in their neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Research Aim: The aim of this study is to measure the effect of a music therapy intervention in the NICU of Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol in Spain. Methodology: The study will be an observational analytical case-control study. All newborns admitted to the neonatology unit, both term and preterm, and their parents will be offered a session of music therapy. Data will be collected from families who receive at least two music therapy sessions. Maternal and paternal anxiety levels will be measured through a pre- and post-intervention test. Findings: The study aims to demonstrate the benefits and acceptance of music therapy by patients, parents, and healthcare workers in the neonatal unit. The findings are expected to show a reduction in maternal and paternal anxiety levels following the music therapy sessions. Theoretical Importance: This study contributes to the growing body of literature on the effectiveness of music therapy in neonatal care. It will provide evidence of the acceptance and potential benefits of music therapy in reducing anxiety levels in both parents and babies in the NICU setting. Data Collection: Data will be collected from families who receive at least two music therapy sessions. This will include pre- and post-intervention test results to measure anxiety levels. Analysis Procedures: The collected data will be analyzed using appropriate statistical methods to determine the impact of music therapy on reducing anxiety levels in parents. Questions Addressed: - What is the effect of music therapy on maternal anxiety levels? - What is the effect of music therapy on paternal anxiety levels? - What is the acceptability and perceived benefits of music therapy among patients and healthcare workers in the NICU? Conclusion: The study aims to provide evidence supporting the value of music therapy in the neonatal intensive care unit. It seeks to demonstrate the positive effect of music therapy on reducing anxiety levels among parents. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=neonatology" title="neonatology">neonatology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=music%20therapy" title=" music therapy"> music therapy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=neonatal%20intensive%20care%20unit" title=" neonatal intensive care unit"> neonatal intensive care unit</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=babies" title=" babies"> babies</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=parents" title=" parents"> parents</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/182826/measuring-the-effect-of-a-music-therapy-intervention-in-a-neonatal-intensive-care-unit-in-spain" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/182826.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">50</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">191</span> Mechanical Properties of the Palm Fibers Reinforced HDPE Composites</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Daniella%20R.%20Mulinari">Daniella R. The objective is to observe if after the accession of these economies to Mercosur (the first accessions occurred in 1994) these indicators showed better performance, in order to demonstrate if economic integration contributed to improved trade, macroeconomic performance, and level of social and economic development of member countries. To this end, the methodologies used will be a literature review and descriptive statistics. The theoretical framework that guides the work are the theories of Integration: Classical Liberal, Marxist and structural-proactive. The results reveal that most social and economic indicators showed better performance in those economies that joined Mercosur after 1994. This work is the result of an investigation already completed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=economic%20integration" title="economic integration">economic integration</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mercosur" title=" Mercosur"> Mercosur</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=social%20indicators" title=" social indicators"> social indicators</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=economic%20indicators" title=" economic indicators"> economic indicators</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/47883/analysis-of-the-evolution-of-social-and-economic-indicators-of-the-mercosurs-members-1980-2012" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/47883.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">298</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">188</span> Receptive Vocabulary Development in Adolescents and Adults with Down Syndrome</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Esther%20Moraleda%20Sep%C3%BAlveda">Esther Moraleda Sepúlveda</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Soraya%20Delgado%20Matute"> Soraya Delgado Matute</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Paula%20Salido%20Escudero"> Paula Salido Escudero</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Raquel%20Mimoso%20Garc%C3%ADa"> Raquel Mimoso García</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=M%20Cristina%20Alc%C3%B3n%20Lancho"> M Cristina Alcón Lancho</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Although there is some consensus when it comes to establishing the lexicon as one of the strengths of language in people with Down Syndrome (DS), little is known about its evolution throughout development and changes based on age. In this research, 30 people with DS between 11 and 40 years old, divided into two age ranges (11-18; 19 - 30) and matched in mental age, were evaluated through the Peabody Vocabulary Test. The results show significant differences between both groups in favor of the group with the oldest chronological age and a direct correlation between chronological age and receptive vocabulary development, regardless of mental age. The aim of this work was to use biopolyols from liquefied Pseudotsuga (<em>Pseudotsuga menziesii</em>) and Turkey oak (<em>Quercus cerris</em>) barks for the production of polyurethane foams and optimize the process. Liquefaction was done with glycerol catalyzed by KOH. Foams were produced following different formulations and using biopolyols from both barks. Subsequently, the foams were characterized according to their mechanical properties and the reaction of the foam formation was monitored by FTIR-ATR. The results show that it is possible to produce polyurethane foams using bio-based polyols and the liquefaction conditions are very important because they influence the characteristics of biopolyols and, consequently the characteristics of the foams. However, the process has to be further optimized so that it can obtain better quality foams. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bio-based%20polyol" title="Bio-based polyol">Bio-based polyol</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mechanical%20tests" title=" mechanical tests"> mechanical tests</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=polyurethane%20foam" title=" polyurethane foam"> polyurethane foam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pseudotsuga%20bark" title=" Pseudotsuga bark"> Pseudotsuga bark</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=renewable%20resources" title=" renewable resources"> renewable resources</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Turkey%20oak%20bark" title=" Turkey oak bark"> Turkey oak bark</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/51260/production-of-polyurethane-foams-from-bark-wastes" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/51260.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">346</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">186</span> Ecotoxicological Safety of Wastewater Treated with Lignocellulosic Adsorbents</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lu%C3%ADsa%20P.%20Cruz-Lopes">Luísa P. In this work grape stalks and olive cake were used as lignocellulosic adsorbents for wastewater containing lead treatment. To attain a better knowledge of the factors that could influence the quality of the treated wastewater, a chemical characterization of the materials used in the treatment was done. To access the ecotoxicological safety of the treated wastewater, several tests were performed. The results of the toxicity test show that the samples leachate has a mild effect on the living models tested. The tests performed in lemna and bacteria were the most sensible to toxicity effects of the samples. The results obtained in this work evidenced the importance of use of simple and fast toxicity tests to predict impacts in the environment. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chemical%20composition" title="chemical composition">chemical composition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lignocellulosic%20residues" title=" lignocellulosic residues"> lignocellulosic residues</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ecotoxicological%20safety" title=" ecotoxicological safety"> ecotoxicological safety</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wastewater" title=" wastewater"> wastewater</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/7640/ecotoxicological-safety-of-wastewater-treated-with-lignocellulosic-adsorbents" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/7640.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">282</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">185</span> Synthesis and Characterization of High-Aspect-Ratio Hematite Nanostructures for Solar Water Splitting</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Paula%20Quiterio">Paula Quiterio</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arlete%20Apolinario"> Arlete Apolinario</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Celia%20T.%20Sousa"> Celia T. Hydrogen has been considered a promising solution, representing a clean and low-cost fuel. It can be produced directly from clean and abundant resources, such as sunlight and water, using photoelectrochemical cells (PECs), in a process that mimics the nature´s photosynthesis. Hematite (alpha-Fe2O3) has attracted considerable attention as a promising photoanode for solar water splitting, due to its high chemical stability, nontoxicity, availability and low band gap (2.2 eV), which allows reaching a high thermodynamic solar-to-hydrogen efficiency of 16.8 %. However, the main drawbacks of hematite such as the short hole diffusion length and the poor conductivity that lead to high electron-hole recombination result in significant PEC efficiency losses. One strategy to overcome these limitations and to increase the PEC efficiency is to use 1D nanostructures, such as nanotubes (NTs) and nanowires (NWs), which present high aspect ratios and large surface areas providing direct pathways for electron transport up to the charge collector and minimizing the recombination losses. In particular, due to the ultrathin walls of the NTs, the holes can reach the surface faster than in other nanostructures, representing a key factor for the NTs photoresponse. In this work, we prepared hematite NWs and NTs, respectively by hydrothermal process and electrochemical anodization. For hematite NWs growing, we studied the effect of variable hydrothermal conditions, different annealing temperatures and time, and the use of Ti and Sn dopants on the morphology and PEC performance. The crystalline phase characterization by X-ray diffraction was crucial to distinguish the formation of hematite and other iron oxide phases, alongside its effect on the photoanodes conductivity and consequent PEC efficiency. The conductivity of the as-prepared NWs is very low, in the order of 10-5 S cm-1, but after doping and annealing optimization it increased by a factor of 105. A high photocurrent density of 1.02 mA cm-2 at 1.45 VRHE was obtained under simulated sunlight, which is a very promising value for this kind of hematite nanostructures. The stability of the photoelectrodes was also tested, presenting good stability after several J-V measurements over time. The NTs, synthesized by fast anodizations with potentials ranging from 20-100 V, presented a linear growth of the NTs pore walls, with very low thicknesses from 10 - 18 nm. These preliminary results are also very promising for the use of hematite photoelectrodes on PEC hydrogen applications. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hematite" title="hematite">hematite</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nanotubes" title=" nanotubes"> nanotubes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nanowires" title=" nanowires"> nanowires</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=photoelectrochemical%20cells" title=" photoelectrochemical cells"> photoelectrochemical cells</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/75034/synthesis-and-characterization-of-high-aspect-ratio-hematite-nanostructures-for-solar-water-splitting" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/75034.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">229</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">184</span> Timing and Impacts of Megafloods in the North Pacific as Recorded by Freshwater Diatoms</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cristina%20Lopes">Cristina Lopes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alan%20C.%20Mix"> Alan C. This type of events can influence the oceanic/land interactions and even be related with climate changes. While the impact of such floods has been fairly studied in the North Atlantic, the impact of analog floods in the North Pacific remains debatable and relatively unknown. Here we will show records of the Missoula floods that have carved the Northwest landscape and have entered the North Pacific through the Columbia River. These records are given by the presence of high (more than 40%) percentages of freshwater diatoms in marine sediments. A regression equation using these percentages allows to estimate by how much the salinities decreased. The timing and impact of North Pacific megafloods recorded in three marine cores of Oregon and California for the past 25000 years (B.P.) will be presented. These records show that the volume of freshwater that entered the North Pacific reached as far as 600 Km south of the Columbia River Mouth, decreasing the salinities by as much as 4 units. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=diatoms" title="diatoms">diatoms</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=megafloods" title=" megafloods"> megafloods</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Missoula" title=" Missoula"> Missoula</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=North%20Pacific" title=" North Pacific"> North Pacific</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/103119/timing-and-impacts-of-megafloods-in-the-north-pacific-as-recorded-by-freshwater-diatoms" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/103119.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">172</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">183</span> Contribution for Rural Development Trough Training in Organic Farming </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Raquel%20P.%20F.%20Guin%C3%A9">Raquel P. The study shows that the five most important CSF for DQM are: definition of appropriate policies and standards, control of inputs, definition of a strategic plan for DQ, organizational culture focused on quality of the data and obtaining top management commitment and support. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=critical%20success%20factors" title="critical success factors">critical success factors</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=data%20quality" title=" data quality"> data quality</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=data%20quality%20management" title=" data quality management"> data quality management</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Delphi" title=" Delphi"> Delphi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Q-Sort" title=" Q-Sort"> Q-Sort</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/107548/identifying-critical-success-factors-for-data-quality-management-through-a-delphi-study" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/107548.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">217</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">181</span> Low-Cost VoIP University Solution</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Carlos%20Henrique%20Rodrigues%20de%20Oliveira">Carlos Henrique Rodrigues de Oliveira</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Luis%20Carlos%20Costa%20Fonseca"> Luis Carlos Costa Fonseca</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Caio%20de%20Castro%20Torres"> Caio de Castro Torres</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Daniel%20Gusm%C3%A3o%20Pereira"> Daniel Gusmão Pereira</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Luiz%20Ricardo%20Souza%20Ripardo"> Luiz Ricardo Souza Ripardo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Magno%20Castro%20Moraes"> Magno Castro Moraes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ana%20Paula%20Ferreira%20Costa"> Ana Paula Ferreira Costa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Luiz%20Carlos%20Chaves%20Lima%20Junior"> Luiz Carlos Chaves Lima Junior</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aurelianny%20Almeida%20da%20Cunha"> Aurelianny Almeida da Cunha</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> VoIP University is a communication solution based on the IP protocol. The exhibition design through multimedia devices - from the audiovisual to the touch screen - has become a medium from which art can be understood and contemplated. Artistic practices articulated, during the modern period, the spectator's perception in the exhibition space, often challenging the architecture of museums and galleries. In turn, the museum institution seeks to respond to the challenge of welcoming the viewer whose experience is mediated by technological artifacts. When the beholder, together with the technology, interacts with the exhibition space, important displacements happen. In this work, we will analyze the migrations of the exhibition space to the digital environment through mobile devices triggered by the viewer. Based not on technological determinism, but on the conditions of the appearance of this spectator, this work is developed, with the aim of apprehending the way in which technology demarcates the differences between what the spectator was and what becomes in the contemporary atmosphere of the museums and galleries. These notions, we believe, will contribute to the formation of an exhibition design space in conformity with this participant. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=exhibition" title="exhibition">exhibition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=museum" title=" museum"> museum</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=exhibition%20design" title=" exhibition design"> exhibition design</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=digital%20media" title=" digital media"> digital media</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/96231/modes-of-seeing-in-interactive-exhibitions-a-study-on-how-technology-can-affect-the-viewer-and-transform-the-exhibition-spaces" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/96231.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">138</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">178</span> A New Family of Flying Wing Low Reynolds Number Airfoils</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ciro%20Sobrinho%20Campolina%20Martins">Ciro Sobrinho Campolina Martins</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Halison%20da%20Silva%20Pereira"> Halison da Silva Pereira</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vitor%20Mainenti%20Leal%20Lopes"> Vitor Mainenti Leal Lopes</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Unmanned Aerial vehicles (UAVs) has been used in a wide range of applications, from precise agriculture monitoring for irrigation and fertilization to military attack missions. Long range performance is required for many of these applications. Tailless aircrafts are commonly used as long-range configurations and, due to its small amount of stability, the airfoil shape design of its wings plays a central role on the performance of the airplane. In this work, a new family of flying wing airfoils is designed for low Reynolds number flows, typical of small-middle UAVs. Camber, thickness and their maximum positions in the chord are variables used for the airfoil geometry optimization. Aerodynamic non-dimensional coefficients were obtained by the well-established Panel Method. High efficient airfoils with small pitch moment coefficient are obtained from the analysis described and its aerodynamic polars are plotted. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=airfoil%20design" title="airfoil design">airfoil design</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=flying%20wing" title=" flying wing"> flying wing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=low%20Reynolds%20number" title=" low Reynolds number"> low Reynolds number</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tailless%20aircraft" title=" tailless aircraft"> tailless aircraft</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=UAV" title=" UAV"> UAV</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/33946/a-new-family-of-flying-wing-low-reynolds-number-airfoils" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/33946.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">629</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">177</span> Mechanical Behaviour of High Strength Steel Thin-Walled Profiles for Automated Rack Supported Warehouses</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Agnese%20Natali">Agnese Natali</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Francesco%20Morelli"> Francesco Morelli</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Walter%20Salvatore"> Walter Salvatore</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jos%C3%A9%20Humberto%20Matias%20de%20Paula%20Filho"> José Humberto Matias de Paula Filho</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Patrick%20Pol"> Patrick Pol</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In the framework of the evaluation of the applicability of high strength steel to produce thin-walled elements to be used in Automated Rack Supported Warehouses, an experimental campaign is carried outto evaluate the structural performance of typical profile shapes adopted for such purposes and made of high strength steel. Thus, liquid-liquid equilibria of the ternary solutions (nicotine+water+NaCl) and (nicotine+water+ECOENG212®) were determined at ambient pressure, 0.1 MPa, at three temperatures. The related phase diagrams were constructed in two manners: by adding the determined cloud-points and by the chemical analysis of phases in equilibrium (tie-line data). The latter were used to calculate two important separation parameters - partition coefficients of nicotine and separation factors. The impacts of the initial compositions of the mother solutions and of temperature on the liquid-liquid phase separation and partition coefficients were analyzed and discussed. The results obtained clearly showed that both investigated salts are good salting-out media for the efficient and sustainable separation of nicotine from its solutions with water. However, when compared, sodium chloride exhibited much better separation performance than the ionic liquid. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
