(For example, on TTC if you are tapping within the two-hour transfer window, you will not be charged another fare.) <a href="/en/about/one-fare-transfers">Learn more about fares and transferring</a>.</p> <p class="para-desc"><strong>More Helpful Information</strong></p> <p class="para-desc">If you’re travelling with more than one person, each person will need to use a separate credit card, debit card, mobile wallet or PRESTO card to tap and pay for their trip.</p> <p class="para-desc">Like a PRESTO card, you can transfer with your credit or debit card. For example, on the TTC, you will receive a 2-hour free transfer if you tap and travel with a credit and debit card. For the full transfer details for all transit agencies, visit the <a href="/en/about/using-presto">Use PRESTO</a> section.</p> <p class="para-desc">When you tap your <em>Interac </em>Debit card on a PRESTO device, a temporary pre-authorization may be placed on your card. The amount will be the fare to the furthest stop from where you tapped on, even if your actual fare is less. This pre-authorization will be held by your bank until PRESTO calculates the actual fare for your trip and charges your bank account. Charges should appear the next day. </p> <p class="para-desc">Some banking plans may charge additional fees for paying with a debit card. Before tapping, check with your bank to see if there are debit transaction limits and fees associated with your account and whether transaction limits apply to public transit purchases.</p> <p class="para-desc">If you tap your credit card, debit card, or cards added to a mobile wallet on a phone or watch, and the PRESTO device says that the payment was not accepted, please check with your bank or use another payment method to pay your fare. If you’re using a physical credit card and it’s not being accepted, try adding it to your mobile wallet on your phone or watch in order to pay. If you are using a metal card, make sure the plastic side is facing down on the PRESTO device. When checking your credit or debit card history with your bank, your charges may take a few days to appear. And multiple trips may be combined into one or more charges.</p> <p>There are two ways to sign in to see your transaction history:</p> <ol> <li><strong>PRESTO Account:</strong> create a registered PRESTO account to safely remember your login info for quick and easy access to the last 180 days of your transaction history.</li> <li><strong>Anonymous:</strong> you’ll need to enter your card identification each time you sign in to see the last 7 days of your transaction history.</li> </ol> <p>If you’ve tapped with a debit card in a mobile wallet, you can check your bank account to see your charges.
