To use this feature: take the following steps:</p> <ol> <li>Go to your school’s library website</li> <li>Look for words like: “Databases, A-Z List, eResources, Off-Campus Access,” or similar</li> <li>If they subscribe to JSTOR, you will be able to click the link to "JSTOR" on your library's website</li> <li>A window should appear that allows you to log in with your university-issued username and password (the username and password that your school gave you to access online courses and school email).</li> <li>After logging in, it should say "Access to JSTOR provided by [Your school name]" at the top of any page on JSTOR.org</li> </ol> <p><strong>Option 3: Other access methods</strong></p> <p class="wysiwyg-indent1">Are you having trouble finding a way to log in to JSTOR, even after reviewing the above steps? Here's how to check:</p> <ol> <li>Go to any page on JSTOR.org</li> <li>If it says “Access Provided by [Your Institution Name],” at the top of the page when you to JSTOR.org, you are already logged in through your school’s subscription and can access everything your library subscribes to.</li> <li>If it doesn't say this, but you are on campus, contact your library for the quickest solution to getting access to research materials.</li> </ol> <p class="wysiwyg-indent1"><em>Quick tip: Ready to start searching? It’s ok! High schools don’t usually use the “Institution Finder” to log in, but there are some exceptions. If you know that your high school has a proxy, scroll up to see the <a href="#institutionfinder">“Institution Finder” section</a>. If not, read on:</p> <h3 class="wysiwyg-indent1"><a name="loginhighschoolremote"></a>Logging in from Off Campus for High School Students:</h3> <p class="wysiwyg-indent1">Your librarian can tell you how to access JSTOR, but in case they’re not available, here are some places to start.</p> <p class="wysiwyg-indent2"><strong>Option 1: A link on your school's website</strong></p> <p class="wysiwyg-indent2">Many high schools offer access via a password-protected link on your library's website:</p> <ol> <li class="wysiwyg-indent3">Verify with your librarian that this is the way they've decided to provide access.</li> <li class="wysiwyg-indent3">If your school provides this login method, log in to your high school’s website</li> <li class="wysiwyg-indent3">Find and click on the link to JSTOR and you will be automatically logged in</li> </ol> <p class="wysiwyg-indent5"><em>Note: How can you tell if you’re logged in? It will say “Access to JSTOR provided by [Your High School Name]” at the top of JSTOR.org.
