class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-2.htm#aramaic"><b>2</b></a></span>And arising, David went on, and all the people that were with him of the men of Yehuda, and he went to Gebah to bring up from there the ark of God, because there was invoked the name of LORD JEHOVAH of HOSTS dwelling upon the Cherubim <A name="4"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-3.htm#aramaic"><b>3</b></a></span>And they set the ark of God upon a new cart and they carried it from the house of Abinadab that was in Gebatha, and Azah and Akhia the sons of Abinadab controlled the cart at the rear <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-4.htm#aramaic"><b>4</b></a></span>And they carried the ark of God from the house of Abinadab that was in Geban, and Akhia went on before the ark<p> <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>And David and all the house of Israel made merry before LORD JEHOVAH with branches of cedar and of cypress and with harps and with lyres and with tambourines and with timbrels and with cymbals<p> <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>And they came unto the standing granaries and Azah reached his hand upon the ark of LORD JEHOVAH and grasped on it, because the oxen broke themselves loose <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>And the anger of LORD JEHOVAH was kindled against Azah, and LORD JEHOVAH struck him there because he reached his hand, and he died there at the ark of God <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>And it was evil to David because LORD JEHOVAH breached a breach against Azah and he called that place “The Breach of Azah” until today <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And David was afraid on that day of the presence of LORD JEHOVAH, and he said: “How shall I bring the ark of LORD JEHOVAH to me?” <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And David was not willing to bring the ark of God into the city of David, and David took it aside to the house of Ubar Adum the Gittite <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And the ark of LORD JEHOVAH sat in the house of Ubar Adum the Gittite for three months, and LORD JEHOVAH blessed Ubar Adum the Gittite and all his household, because of the ark of LORD JEHOVAH<p> <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>And they told King David and they said to him: “LORD JEHOVAH has blessed Ubar Adum the Gittite and everything that he had because of the ark of LORD JEHOVAH." And David went and brought up the ark of LORD JEHOVAH from the house of Ubar Adum to the city of David with joy <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And it happened that when the bearers of the ark of LORD JEHOVAH walked six paces, David sacrificed fattened oxen <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And David sang with all his strength before LORD JEHOVAH, and David was wearing an ephod of linen <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And David and all Israel brought up the ark of LORD JEHOVAH with shouting and with the sound of the shophar<p> <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>And the ark of LORD JEHOVAH was at the house of David. Malkel, daughter of Shaul, looked out from a window, and she saw King David rejoicing and he played before LORD JEHOVAH and she held contempt for him in her heart<p> <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>And they brought the ark of LORD JEHOVAH and they set it inside the tent that David had pitched for it. And David offered up sacrifices and peace offerings before LORD JEHOVAH <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>And when David had finished offering up sacrifices and peace offerings to LORD JEHOVAH, he blessed the people in the name of LORD JEHOVAH Almighty <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>And he distributed to all the people, all the assembly of Israel, from the men and unto the women, one loaf of bread and one portion and one fine white loaf, and all the people went, each person to his house<p> <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_samuel/6-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>And David walked to go to his house, and Malkel daughter of Shaul went out to meet David and she said: “How glorious was the King of Israel today who was exposed today to the eyes of the Maid Servants of his Servants!
