In the context of the Bible, many narratives and periods are characterized by pivotal events that shape the course of biblical history and theology. These events often reveal God's character, His plans for humanity, and His interactions with His people.

Creation and the Fall

The opening chapters of Genesis describe the creation of the world, an eventful period where God speaks the universe into existence. Genesis 1:1 states, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." This foundational event sets the stage for all subsequent biblical history. The fall of man in Genesis 3 is another significant event, where Adam and Eve's disobedience leads to sin entering the world, altering the course of human history and necessitating God's plan for redemption.

The Flood

The account of Noah and the flood in Genesis 6-9 is a dramatic and eventful narrative. God, grieved by humanity's wickedness, decides to cleanse the earth with a flood, sparing only Noah, his family, and pairs of animals. Genesis 7:11-12 describes the onset of the flood: "In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. And the rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights." This event underscores God's judgment and mercy.

The Exodus

The exodus of the Israelites from Egypt is one of the most eventful periods in the Old Testament. God delivers His people from slavery through a series of miraculous plagues and the parting of the Red Sea. Exodus 14:21-22 recounts, "Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. So the waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on their right and on their left." This event is central to Jewish identity and foreshadows the ultimate deliverance through Christ.

The Giving of the Law

At Mount Sinai, God gives the Law to Moses, an eventful moment that establishes the covenant relationship between God and Israel. Exodus 19:18-19 describes the scene: "Mount Sinai was completely enveloped in smoke, because the LORD had descended on it in fire. The smoke rose like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked violently. And as the sound of the ram’s horn grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and God answered him in the thunder." The Law provides moral and ceremonial guidelines for the Israelites.

The Birth of Jesus Christ

The birth of Jesus Christ is a pivotal event in the New Testament, marking the incarnation of God as man. Luke 2:10-11 records the angel's announcement to the shepherds: "But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid! For behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: Today in the city of David a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord!'" This eventful moment fulfills Old Testament prophecies and initiates the New Covenant.

The Crucifixion and Resurrection

The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus are the most eventful occurrences in Christian theology. Jesus' sacrificial death provides atonement for sin, and His resurrection conquers death, offering eternal life to believers. Matthew 28:5-6 describes the angel's message at the empty tomb: "The angel said to the women, 'Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He lay.'" These events are central to the Gospel message.

Pentecost

The day of Pentecost, as recorded in Acts 2, is an eventful moment marking the birth of the Church. The Holy Spirit descends upon the apostles, empowering them to preach the Gospel. Acts 2:2-4 states, "Suddenly a sound like a mighty rushing wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw tongues like flames of a fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them." This event signifies the fulfillment of Jesus' promise to send the Helper and initiates the spread of Christianity.

Throughout the Bible, eventful moments serve as turning points that reveal God's sovereignty, justice, and love. These events are not isolated incidents but are interconnected within God's redemptive plan for humanity.
Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary
(a.) Full of, or rich in, events or incidents; as, an eventful journey; an eventful period of history; an eventful period of life.
Strong's Hebrew
4639. maaseh -- a deed, work
... 3), art (1), business (1), chainwork* (1), concern (1), conduct (1), deed (4), deeds
(17), design (4), did (1), does (1), done (1), eventful (1), goods (2 ...
/hebrew/4639.htm - 6k
Library

The Betrayal.
... The eleven apostles were with Jesus when he left the Upper Room and departed on
this eventful journey, the most eventful in the history of the world. ...
/.../johnson/the new testament commentary vol iii john/the betrayal.htm
A Reformer's Schooling
... prospered 'this day.'.
