The confcommercio-Legambiente report on Italy\u0026amp;#39; s problematic settlements between 1996-2016 forecasts tells us of 1650 abandoned towns in 2016. The risk is the loss of an historical and cultural valuable heritage, and of immense economic, social and most of all environmental resources, containing a historical memory linked to \u0026amp;#39;making\u0026amp;#39;. Although in recent years we are witnessing a slow rediscovery of the strategic role that these places can play within an overall framework of territorial development and decompression of congested urban areas, Italy lack the experience that could trigger long term innovative processes. The project described in this paper, starting from the potential offered by the current worldwide technological and cultural revolution, proposes a reactivation model for mountain inland areas, based on the renewal of local skills and supported by the creative know-how of makers. This strategy aims to increase the resilience of these territories, triggering dynamic and durable relational and productive processes. However, the lack of a standard classification methodology and shared analysis parameters has made it difficult to obtain verifiable, comparable, and reusable results. The present study shows how the Modeg annotation scheme may offer a solution in this respect, since it allows to identify, annotate, and compare the key linguistic features at the root of typological classification and intra- and cross-linguistic variation, in both a synchronic and a diachronic perspective. In order to prove so, we propose a Modeg-based analysis of a parallel corpus consisting of a Latin text (Livy’s Ab Urbe Condita) and its translations into five Romance languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Romanian) belonging to different time stages. The passages examined address three crucial aspects in motion events typology: (i) the expression of path in the presence of a manner verb; (ii) the expression of manner in an event involving boundary-crossing; (iii) the expression of multiple grounds in a single event.
