class="entry"> <p>Una vez finalizada la Guerra de los Balcanes y con la disolución definitiva de Yugoslavia, fueron varias las naciones emergentes de aquellos territorios: Croacia, Montenegro, Bosnia y Herzegovina, Macedonia, Eslovenia y Serbia.<br /> Revisando datos, el 16 de agosto de 2006 con una victoria por 3-1 como visitante contra la República Checa, el seleccionado Serbio dio su puntapié oficial a nivel internacional. Anteriormente había formado parte de otras dos selecciones diferentes actualmente disueltas: Yugoslavia y Serbia-Montenegro.<br /> Por lo tanto, para tomar el referente histórico vale la pena considerar dos instancias. La más reciente en Alemania 2006, donde Serbia se presentó como Serbia-Montenegro en un grupo muy complicado ante Argentina, Costa de Marfil y Holanda. 3 derrotas y eliminados.<br /> Más atrás en el tiempo, hay que considerar la participación de Yugoslavia con 9 mundiales jugados entre 1930 y 2002, siendo Chile ´62 su mejor participación. En aquella Copa del Mundo, integró el Grupo I que disputó todos sus partidos en Arica: Unión Soviética (0-2), Colombia (5-0) y Uruguay (3-1) fueron los tres rivales en aquella fase. En Cuartos de Final viajó a Santiago para enfrentar a la siempre complicada Alemania Federal, a la cual derrotó con un cerrado 1-0.<br /> En Semifinales, Checoslovaquia (otro país que ya no existe) lo derrotó categóricamente por 3-1. Finalmente, el 16 de Junio de 1962 tuvo que enfrentar a Chile (país anfitrión) por el Tercer Puesto. Fue un emocionante partido, muy disputado donde Yugoslavia cae derrotada en el minuto final del partido por 0-1.<br /> De esta forma, Yugoslavia cerraba su participación con un brillante Cuarto Puesto, igualando su participación en Uruguay 1930, donde jugó 3 partidos (2 en Fase de Grupo y uno en Semifinales).</p> <p>Es imposible cerrar este post, sin nombrar a tan brillante generación yugoslava de 1962: Milutin Soskic, Vladimir Durkovic, Fahrudin Jusufi, Petar Radakovic, Vlatko Markovic, Vladimir Popovic, Andrija Ankovic, Dragoslav Sekularac, Drazen Jerkovic, Milan Galic, Josip Skoblar, Srboljub Krivokuca, Slavko Svinjarevic, Vasilije Sijakovic, Zeljko matis, Muhamed Mujic, Vojislav Melic, Vladimir Kovacevic, Mirko Stojanovic, Zarko Nikolic, Nikola Stipic y Aleksandar Ivos.</p> <span class="embed-youtube" style="text-align:center; Aquella Copa América no tenía una sede fija y se jugaba en fase de grupos con partidos de ida y vuelta. Como Perú era el campeón vigente, no le tocó disputar la Primera Fase y entraba directamente a Semifinales.</p> <p>Los grupos se conformaron de la siguiente manera:<br /> Grupo I – Chile, Colombia y Venezuela<br /> Grupo II – Brasil, Argentina y Bolivia<br /> Grupo III – Paraguay, Ecuador y Uruguay</p> <p>Chile, Brasil y Paraguay ganan sus respectivos grupos y las semifinales enfrentan a los del Pacífico y los del Atlántico en forma separada:<br /> Chile v/s Perú<br /> Brasil v/s Paraguay</p> <p>El seleccionado chileno vence en Lima 2-1 y luego empata en Santiago 0-0. Con ese resultado se transforma en el primer finalista. Por su parte, Paraguay vence 2-1 en Asunción y consigue un heroico 2-2 en Río de Janeiro.</p> <p>El 28 de Noviembre en Asunción, paraguayos y chilenos disputan la primera final, donde el equipo guaraní gana con propiedad por 3-0, con goles de Julio César Romero 2 y Milcíades Morel. Una semana después, el 05 de Diciembre en Santiago se produce la segunda final y con un ajustado 1-0 a favor de Chile (gol de Carlos Rivas), el seleccionado chileno obliga a un tercer partido, producto que la diferencia de goles no corría en los dos primeros encuentros.</p> <p>Buenos Aires, Argentina se transforma en la sede final y un 11 de Diciembre fue la fecha elegida. Después de un combativo empate sin goles, se juega el alargue de 30 minutos… el empate le daba el triunfo a los paraguayos y así fue. Antes de finalizar con 2 post el ciclo de Chile ´62, me pareció interesante contarles este dato, el que además, está acompañado por uno de los más partidos más increíbles jugados en las Copas del Mundo.</p> <p>Colombia era debutante absoluto y había sido derrotado por Yugoslavia (5-0 y Uruguay (2-1). Faltaba el partido de cierre del Grupo 1 jugado en Arica y la imponente Unión Soviética vencía al equipo “cafetero” por 4-1. Pero “La Araña Negra” tuvo una de sus peores tardes aquel 3 de Junio, debido a que el segundo gol colombiano fue obra de Marcos Coll a los 22 minutos del segundo tiempo y será recordado por siempre, como el primer y único (hasta ahora) gol olímpico de los Mundiales.</p> <p>El equipo de Adolfo Pedernera se motivó por este golazo y remontó hasta empatar 4-4 con goles de Marino Klinger y Antonio Rada.</p> <p>Debut y despedida de Colombia que tuvo que esperar hasta Italia ´90 para volver a una Copa del Mundo, esta vez con Valderrama, Higuita y cía… pero eso será parte de otra historia en fue un verdadero grito de desahogo por toda la nación albiceleste después de vivir una Clasificatorias que los tuvieron muy cerca de ir al reprechaje para poder acceder a la Copa del Mundo de México ´86.</p> <p>Argentina era el cabeza de serie del grupo que integraba Colombia, Perú y Venezuela. Si bien, se veía accesible, en la medida que comenzaron a sucederse los partidos no tuvo nada de eso.</p> <p>Es entre Perú y la Argentina liderada por Maradona en la cancha y Carlos Salvador Bilardo como técnico quienes comandan una apretada lucha por el primer puesto. Bilardo llevaba 2 años soportando las presiones del periodismo y sabía que su “cabeza” estaba en juego si la Argentina no llegaba a clasificar a México.</p> <p>Perú vence en un polémico partido a la Argentina en Lima por 1-0 y digo polémico, por el famoso marcaje que le hace Reyna a Maradona. Con este resultado, Argentina encabeza el grupo con 8 puntos, seguido muy de cerca por el Perú con 7.</p> <p>Es por eso que el partido que se jugaba en Buenos Aires era el todo por el todo. Avanzado el partido, Perú ganaba 2-1 y la desesperación cundía en todo el equipo trasandino, debido a que el equipo del Rimac alcanzaba la clasificación directa al Mundial.</p> <p>Finalmente vino la “patriada” de Passarella (jugador símbolo del menottismo) que con más coraje y pudor prácticamente define el ansiado gol del empate y si bien el gol fue prácticamente de Daniel Passarella, fue Ricardo Gareca que empuja el balón en el arco peruano.</p> <p>Los invito a recordar estos 2 impresionantes partidos, más lleno de emoción y fuerza, que de fútbol y virtuosismo.</p> <span class="embed-youtube" href="https://pepelotas.wordpress.com/2009/03/20/colo-colo-de-america/" target="_blank">Colo – Colo en 1991</a>, otro equipo chileno estuvo cerca de repetir la hazaña. La Universidad Católica dirigida por Ignacio Prieto.</p> <p>A fines de Febrero y en Calama debuta la Universidad Católica en el grupo que integraba Cobreloa y Bolivar junto a San José, ambos de Bolivia. En un grupo muy cerrado, Católica gana el grupo con 8 puntos, seguido de Bolivar y Cobreloa con 7.</p> <p>En Octavos de Final, le toca medirse con el Atlético Nacional de Colombia, al cual vence por diferencia de goles (2-0 de local y 1-2 de visita). En la fase siguiente, se impone claramente al Barcelona de Ecuador, al vencerlo en los 2 partidos que midieron fuerzas.</p> <p>Pero es en los partidos jugados en Semifinales donde la Universidad Católica escribe una de sus páginas más gloriosas. El rival de turno era el siempre complicado América de Cali de Colombia (tres veces finalista y con Rincón, De Ávila y Lozano en su plantel) al cual vence muy ajustadamente el 5 de Mayo en Santiago 1-0. El partido de regreso jugado una semana después, tuvo de todo. Un heroico empate en Montevideo hace soñar la obtención de la primera Copa Libertadores para Chile. La nación entera se cuadra soñando ver al equipo naranja con el trofeo en sus manos, pero cuando el partido moría, Fernando Morena derrota a Oscar Wirth y una vez más, el sueño se esfuma ante los
