Applications for Airport ID cards will only be accepted for justified and approved activities at DUS Airport. Applications can generally only be submitted by a commercial entity, an authority, government body, an association or a legal person (in the following "company"). Flughafen Düsseldorf GmbH shall determine whether the proposed activity is an approved activity.<br /> <br /> Persons for which applications for Airport ID cards are submitted must genuinely need the ID card for the performance of an approved activity for an authorised company. These persons must furthermore be directly employed by the company submitting the application and must – if applicable – hold legally required work and residence permits.<br /> <br /> The Airport ID card remains the property of Flughafen Düsseldorf GmbH (FDG).<br /> <br /> The ID card has a validity of max. 3 years. Companies with a registered office at the airport can receive ID cards with a max. validity of 3 years. The personal background check includes the places of residence within the past 10 years. The applicant company will be fined a reasonable fee for culpable late returns.</p> <p>Additionally, the ID card holder will be FINED €150.00 by the Regional Dusseldorf government. Non-compliance with this legal requirement represents a misdemeanour offence in accordance with Article 18, Section 1 of the Air Safety Act and is punishable with a fine up to €10,000. You are required to wait until the automatic door closes. Notify staff authorised to conduct controls if unauthorised access cannot be prevented.<br /> <br /> Every ID card holder is required to ensure the correct handling of Airport ID card and to notify security personnel in case of suspected misuse.<br /> <br /> Notwithstanding a specific suspicion, any ID card holder can be asked by security personnel to present or hand over the Airport ID card. Any refusal shall result in access to airside areas and critical parts of the security restricted area being denied. Should the person be located inside the airside areas and critical parts of the security restricted area at the time of refusal, then that person will be forced to leave the area and will be accompanied to the exit by security personnel.<br /> <br /> ID card holders participating in air traffic as passengers are subject to Border Police and customs requirements/checks. The use of screening checkpoints for persons other than passengers and items carried is not permitted.<br /> <br /> Photography and video recordings are not permitted for airside personnel or persons working in the critical part of the security restricted area (except for job-related purposes).<br /> <br /> <strong>Duty to carry the Airport ID card</strong><br /> <br /> The Airport ID card must be worn clearly visible on outer clothing at chest height. Depending on need and required duration of use, RFID tags with limited or max. validity of one calendar year can be requested. The request must be submitted by the applicant company. The request will be reviewed by FDG.<br /> <br /> Vehicles licensed at DUS Airport must be roadworthy and have sufficient insurance cover. The following rules apply:</p> <ul> <li>Road-legal vehicle: blanket insurance cover for EUR 50 million plus EUR 8 million for personal injury (per injured person)</li> <li>For the completion of tasks outlined in the Ground Handling Service Act (BADV) using the road-legal vehicle, the coverage in general and the cover for personal injury must be increased to the minimum coverage in accordance with ground handling services or the difference in the coverage sums must be covered by an existing liability insurance for BADV activities</li> <li>Non-road-worthy vehicles must generally be insured via a liability insurance</li> <li>Damage to aircraft must not be exempted in the vehicle liability or the general liability insurance.</li> </ul> <p>The vehicle licence (RFID tag) remains the property of Flughafen Düsseldorf GmbH (FDG).</p> <p>Road access to the apron is permitted for drivers, who hold a valid Airport ID card with apron access authorisation and a relevant public driving licence in addition to the vehicle RFID tag for the respective vehicle.
