Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid: </strong>The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches people to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies. Emergencies include burns, cuts, sudden illnesses, head/neck & back injuries, and heat/cold emergencies. It also teaches people how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age. Individuals who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years. (Open to all.).</p><p><strong>American Red Cross Lifeguard Full Course:</strong> The purpose of this American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatics emergencies. Participants will also be able to provide care for breathing/cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over.<strong> *Participants must complete these <a href="/wellness/safety_ed/safety_education_prerequisites/" title="External link"><strong>prerequisites.</strong></a></strong></p><p><strong>American Red Cross Lifeguard Recertification: </strong>The purpose of this course is renewing certification of currently certified American Red Cross Lifeguards. <strong>*Participants must complete these <a href="/wellness/safety_ed/safety_education_prerequisites/" title="External link"><strong>prerequisites.</strong></a></strong></p><p><strong>Lifeguard Instructor Recertification Course: </strong>This in-person Instructor/Instructor Trainer review course is the required course for all Lifeguarding Instructors and Instructor Trainers to re-certify. This course has been updated to meet the ECC 2010 guidelines in 2017.</p><p><strong>Water Safety Instructor</strong>: This American Red Cross course is designed to train swim lesson instructors.
