And the water<MH4325> was flowing<MH3381> down<MH3381> from under<MH8478>, from the right<MH3233> side<MH3802> of the house<MH1004>, from south<MH5045> of the altar<MH4196>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-2.htm"><b>2</b></a></span>And he brought<MH3318> me out<MH3318> by way<MH1870> of the north<MH6828> gate<MH8179> and led<MH5437> me around<MH5437> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[a]</a></span>on the outside<MH2351> to the outer<MH2351> gate<MH8179>, by the way<MH1870> facing<MH6437> east<MH6921>. And behold<MH2009>, water<MH4325> was spurting<MH6379> out<MH6379> from the south<MH3233> side<MH3802>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>When the man<MH376> went<MH3318> out<MH3318> toward the east<MH6921> with a line<MH6957b> in his hand<MH3027>, he measured<MH4058> a thousand<MH505> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>cubits<MH520>, and he led<MH5674a> me through the water<MH4325>, water<MH4325> <i>reaching</i> the ankles<MH658a>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>Again he measured<MH4058> a thousand<MH505> and led<MH5674a> me through the water<MH4325>, water<MH4325> <i>reaching</i> the knees<MH1290>. Again he measured<MH4058> a thousand<MH505> and led<MH5674a> me through <i>the water,</i> water<MH4325> <i>reaching</i> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>hips<MH4975>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>Again he measured<MH4058> a thousand<MH505>; <i>and it was</i> a river<MH5158a> that I could<MH3201> not <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>wade<MH5674a> across<MH5674a>, because<MH3588> the water<MH4325> had risen<MH1342>, <i>enough</i> water<MH4325> to swim<MH7813> in, a river<MH5158a> that could not be crossed<MH5674a> <i>by wading.</i> <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>And he said<MH559> to me, “Son<MH1121> of man<MH120>, have you seen<MH7200> <i>this?</i>” Then he brought<MH7725> me <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>back<MH7725> to the bank<MH8193> of the river<MH5158a>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>Now when I had returned<MH7725>, behold<MH2009>, on the bank<MH8193> of the river<MH5158a> <i>there were</i> very<MH3966> many<MH7227a> trees<MH6086> on the one<MH2088> side<MH2088> and on the other<MH2088>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>Then he said<MH559> to me, “These<MH428> waters<MH4325> go<MH3318> out<MH3318> toward<MH413> the eastern<MH6930> region<MH1552> and go<MH3381> down<MH3381> into the Arabah<MH6160>; then they go<MH935> toward the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>sea<MH3220>, being made to flow<MH3318> into the sea<MH3220>, and the waters<MH4325> <i>of the sea</i> become<MH7495> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>fresh<MH7495>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>And it will come<MH1961> about<MH1961> that every<MH3605> living<MH5315> creature<MH5315> which<MH834> swarms<MH8317> in every<MH3605> place where<MH834, 8033> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>river<MH5158a> goes<MH935>, will live<MH2421a>. And there will be very<MH3966> many<MH7227a> fish<MH1710>, for these<MH428> waters<MH4325> go<MH935> there<MH8033> and <i>the others</i> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>become<MH7495> fresh<MH7495>; so everything<MH3605> will live<MH2421a> where<MH834, 8033> the river<MH5158a> goes<MH935>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>And it will come<MH1961> about<MH1961> that fishermen<MH1728> will stand<MH5975> beside<MH5921> it; from Engedi<MH5872> to Eneglaim<MH5882> there will be a place<MH4894a> for<MH4894a> the<MH4894a> spreading<MH4894a> of nets<MH2764b>. Their fish<MH1710> will be according to their kinds<MH4327>, like the fish<MH1710> of the Great<MH1419> Sea<MH3220>, very<MH3966> many<MH7227a>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>But its swamps<MH1207> and marshes<MH1360> will not become<MH7495> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>fresh<MH7495>; they will be <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>left<MH5414> for salt<MH4417>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>And by the river<MH5158a> on its bank<MH8193>, on one<MH2088> side<MH2088> and on the other<MH2088>, will grow<MH5927> all<MH3605> <i>kinds of</i> trees<MH6086> for food<MH3978>. Their leaves<MH5929> will not wither<MH5034b> and their fruit<MH6529> will not fail<MH8552>. They will bear<MH1069> fruit<MH1069> every month<MH2320> because<MH3588> their water<MH4325> flows<MH3318> from the sanctuary<MH4720>, and their fruit<MH6529> will be for food<MH3978> and their leaves<MH5929> for healing<MH8644>.” <p class="hdg">Boundaries and Division of the Land</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>This<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the Lord<MH136> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>GOD<MH3068> says<MH559>: “This<MH2088> <i>shall be</i> the boundary<MH1366> by which<MH834> you shall divide<MH5157> the land<MH776> for<MH5157> an<MH5157> inheritance<MH5157> among the twelve<MH8147, 6240> tribes<MH7626> of Israel<MH3478>; Joseph<MH3130> <i>shall have</i> two<MH8147> portions<MH2256a>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>And you shall divide<MH5157> it for<MH5157> an<MH5157> inheritance<MH5157>, each<MH376> one<MH376> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>equally with the other<MH251>; for I <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>swore<MH5375, 3027> to give<MH5414> it to your forefathers<MH1>, and this<MH2088> land<MH776> shall fall<MH5307> to you <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>as an inheritance<MH5159>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>“And this<MH2088> <i>shall be</i> the boundary<MH1366> of the land<MH776>: on the north<MH6828> side<MH6285>, from the Great<MH1419> Sea<MH3220> <i>by</i> the way<MH1870> of Hethlon<MH2855>, to the entrance<MH935> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[p]</a></span>Zedad<MH6657>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span><span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[q]</a></span>Hamath<MH2574>, Berothah<MH1268>, Sibraim<MH5453>, which<MH834> is between<MH996> the border<MH1366> of Damascus<MH1834> and the border<MH1366> of Hamath<MH2574>; Hazer-hatticon<MH2694>, which<MH834> is by the border<MH1366> of Hauran<MH2362>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>The boundary<MH1366> shall <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[r]</a></span>extend<MH1961> from the sea<MH3220> <i>to</i> Hazar-enan<MH2703> <i>at</i> the border<MH1366> of Damascus<MH1834>, and on the north<MH6828> toward the north<MH6828> is the border<MH1366> of Hamath<MH2574>. This is the north<MH6828> side<MH6285>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>“The east<MH6921> side<MH6285>, from between<MH996> Hauran<MH2362>, Damascus<MH1834>, Gilead<MH1568>, and the land<MH776> of Israel<MH3478>, <i>shall be</i> the Jordan<MH3383>; from the <i>north</i> border<MH1366> to the eastern<MH6931> sea<MH3220> you shall measure<MH4058>. This is the east<MH6921> side<MH6285>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>“The south<MH5045> side<MH6285> toward the south<MH8486> <i>shall extend</i> from Tamar<MH8559> as far<MH5704> as the waters<MH4325> of Meribath-kadesh<MH4809, 6946>, to the brook<MH5158a> <i>of Egypt and</i> to the Great<MH1419> Sea<MH3220>. This is the south<MH8486> side<MH6285> toward the south<MH5045>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>“And the west<MH3220> side<MH6285> <i>shall be</i> the Great<MH1419> Sea<MH3220>, from the <i>south</i> border<MH1366> to a point opposite<MH5227> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[s]</a></span>Lebo-hamath<MH935>. This<MH2088> is the west<MH3220> side<MH6285>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>“So you shall divide<MH2505a> this<MH2088> land<MH776> among yourselves according to the tribes<MH7626> of Israel<MH3478>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/47-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>You shall divide<MH5307> it by<MH5307> lot<MH5307> for an inheritance<MH5159> among yourselves and among the strangers<MH1616> who stay<MH1481a> in your midst<MH8432>, who<MH834> bring<MH3205> forth<MH3205> sons<MH1121> in your midst<MH8432>.
