Sawicki holds a bachelor’s in biochemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He also has a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. As well as this, he received graduate training at the Hauptman Woodard Medical Research Institute. He has managed and run multiple boutique management advisory firms focused on management consulting. Before joining Cryoport, Matthew held a series of progressively responsible roles within the SOTIO and the American Red Cross (ARC). He was the President and Chief Operating Officer for SOTIO Inc. where he designed and operated a global cellular therapy supply chain network. In the ARC, he started as a laboratory technician and spent over 17 years working in different areas of the organization until ultimately completing as the interim CEO of the Massachusetts Region.
