Selected students at the level of BSc (Second Year/Third Year), MSc (First Year) or equivalent will be able to spend 6-8 weeks at IISER Mohali during the summer in order to work on specific summer projects with IISER Mohali faculty. The principal objective of the program is to provide exposure to research methodology and a research environment to motivated students and teachers. This exposure to different scientific fields is expected to inspire students to take up careers in science and help teachers in imparting science education.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Dates:</strong> The summer program will run between <strong>May 15, 2025</strong> and <strong>July 22, 2025</strong>. It will <strong>not </strong><strong>be viable</strong> to accommodate requests for flexibility of pursuing the summer program outside this timeline. Therefore, if you wish to apply then please ensure that these dates do not conflict with your other commitments during the summer.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Duration:</strong> The minimum period of summer research is six weeks and the maximum period is eight weeks.<br />The Program: The Summer Research Program 2025 will have two components.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">(i) Research: which the student will carry out in consultation with his/her supervisor, and</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">(ii) Interdisciplinary Course Work: which will involve a series of lectures to be delivered by scientists working in various fields.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">At the end of the summer program, students are required to submit a report about their research approved by their supervisor. All students who successfully complete the summer program will receive a certificate from IISER Mohali.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The application can be submitted through an online form. While filling the form you should be careful about providing all information correctly. Applicants having their own scholarship to support themselves financially toward pursuing summer programs.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Category B</strong>. A number of applicants may be supported, on a competitive basis, through SSR-SERB grants of individual faculty members.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Category C</strong>. Rest of the applicants.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />IISER Mohali will not provide any other stipend/fellowship/financial support for food, travel etc. Students may avail services of IISER Mohali Hostel Mess on payment basis.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br /><strong>Accommodation:</strong> IISER Mohali will provide a free of cost accommodation to the students in Category C.
