Take off your shoes from your feet, because the place where you are standing is holy.” <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/3-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>And he said, “I AM the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Yaquuv”, and Moshe hid his face because he was afraid to gaze on the Presence of God.<p> <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/3-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH said: “Looking, I have seen the oppression of my people who are in Egypt and I have heard their groans from before their oppressors, because I know their suffering; <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/3-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>And I have come down for its salvation from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up from this land to a land that is enlarged and good, to a land that flows milk and honey, to the land of Canaanites and of Khethites and of Amorites and Perizites and of Khivites and of Yebusites. <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/3-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And now, behold, the cries of the children of Israel have entered my Presence, also I have seen the suffering that the Egyptians are inflicting on them.<p> <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/3-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>Now come, I shall send you to Pharaoh and I shall bring out my people, the children of Israel, from Egypt.” <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/3-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And Moshe said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring out the house of Israel from Egypt?” <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/3-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>And God said to him, “I shall be with you, and this is the sign that I have sent you; when I shall bring out the people from Egypt, you will serve before God on this mountain.”<p> <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/3-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And Moshe said to God, “Behold, I shall go to the children of Israel and I shall say to them, LORD JEHOVAH, God of your fathers has sent me unto you”, and they will say to me, ‘What is his name?’ What shall I say to them?” <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/3-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And God said to Moshe: Ahiah Ashra High“I AM what I AM”, and he said, thus say to the children of Israel: Ahiah – “I AM” has sent me unto you.” <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/3-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And God said again to Moshe: “In this way speak to the children of Israel: ‘LORD JEHOVAH, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Yaquuv has sent me unto you’; this is my Name to eternity and this is my memorial to a generation of generations. <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/3-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>Go gather the Elders of the children of Israel and say to them: ‘LORD JEHOVAH the God of your fathers was revealed to me, the God of Abraham and of Ishaq and of Yaquuv, saying, “Remembering, I have remembered you and whatever was done to you in Egypt <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/3-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>And I said, ‘I shall bring you from the oppression of the Egyptians to the land of Canaanites and of the Khethites and of the Amorites and of Perezites and of Khivites and of Yebusites, to the land that flows milk and honey.' <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/3-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>And they shall hear your voice and you shall enter, you and the Elders of the children of Israel, unto the King of Egypt, and you shall say to him, ‘LORD JEHOVAH God of the Hebrews was revealed to us;
