Michael also serves as an advisor from Washington State to the National Trust for Historic Preservation and is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Washington Tacoma.</p> <p><strong>Jean Sherrard,</strong> (Vice-chair) Co-founder of Globe Radio Repertory and Artist-in-Residence at Hillside Student Community. He was the curator and photographer of the ‘Now and Then’ exhibit at the MOHAI, which led him to co-author the book <em>Washington Then and Now</em> with Paul Dorpat.</p> <p><strong>Greg Nickels </strong>(Treasurer) served eight years as the 51st Mayor of Seattle from January 1, 2001, through December 31, 2009. He is known as a leader in climate protection and was appointed by Barack Obama as alternate representative to the United Nations.</p> <p><strong>Tessa Campbell, </strong>(Secretary)<strong> </strong>former curator of collections, Hibulb Cultural Center, current University of Washington doctoral candidate in the iSchool.</p> <p><strong>Robin MJ Dowdy, M Ed. </strong>While not originally from Washington State, Robin found her home in Seattle when she moved from California in 1997. After earning her Masters of Education from Western Washington University in 1999, Robin started her career teaching history in public schools in both Shoreline and Seattle.  </p> <p><strong>David Eskenazi, </strong>third generation Seattleite, investment professional with Allied Asset Management/Advisor Group, and in the financial services industry since 1982. He is involved in promoting and preserving Seattle and Pacific Northwest sports history and culture through various organizations, publications, documentaries, displays and other activities.</p> <p><strong><strong>Erasmo Gamboa</strong>, Ph.D, </strong>professor emeritus of history, University of Washington. Former Associate Professor of Chicano Studies and Adjunct Associate Professor of History and Latin American Studies at the UW. Professor Gamboa is the author of numerous articles and books on the history of Latinos in the Pacific Northwest.</p> <p><strong>Carver Gayton, Ph.D, </strong>leader in education reform and workforce training for over 35 years. Former Commissioner of the Employment Department under Governor Gary Locke, lecturer at the Dan Evans Graduate School of Public Affairs, winner of the University of Washington Alumni Legend award. </p> <p><strong>Sandeep Kaushik, </strong>brings broad experience in political and public affairs consulting work in Seattle. In addition to his extensive public relations, political communications and strategic advisory work for elected officials and civic leaders, governments and non-profits, he has worked on multiple political campaigns in the Northwest, including numerous issue and ballot measure campaigns. And Sandeep’s current practice includes dealing with complicated, high profile policy issues in Seattle, including affordable housing, issues around ridesharing services, short-term rental regulation, transit funding and universal pre-K.</p> <p><strong>Warren King George,</strong> historian for the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe Preservation Program.</p> <p><strong>Douglas Howe</strong>, manager of Howe Family Holdings LLC, a private family office real estate investor. He was the founder and former CEO of Touchstone, a Seattle-based commercial real estate development company. Touchstone’s primary activity was the development of urban infill projects; commercial office, technology, biotechnology R&D buildings and business hotels. Howe has been a leader in the commercial real estate industry in designing and building high performance, sustainable green buildings. </p> <p><strong>Russell Johnson,</strong> Legislative Affairs specialist for the Washington State Bar Association. Formerly an intern at HistoryLink, his first post-college job.</p> <p><strong>Jackie Jones-Hook, </strong>A lifelong resident of Washington State, Jackie holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from Central Washington University and a Master’s in Public Administration from Evergreen State College. She received her first government job in high school, working for the Honorable Governor Dan Evan and retired from Washington State Government (Department of Transportation) where she worked in Management Information Systems. Her retirement life is filled with serving as the Executive Director of the Buffalo Soldiers Museum, working to Educate, Preserve and Present American Military History and the Buffalo Soldiers story from 1866 – 1944 which includes all branches of the armed forces.</p> <p><strong>Nicole Klein, </strong>Capital Campaign Manager for the ASUW Shell House. Nicole is an active member in Seattle Rotary 4, the Puget Sound Maritime Historical Society, UW Army ROTC Foundation, and Seattle Chapter President for the University of Oregon alumni chapter. </p> <p><strong>Al Levine,</strong> former Deputy Executive Director of the Seattle Housing Authority from 2003 until his retirement in 2013, where he led Development, Construction and Asset Management programs.</p> <p><strong>Nicole Mitchell,</strong> has served as the director of the University of Washington Press since 2012. She has more than 39 years of experience in scholarly publishing and 27 years as the director of three university presses.</p> <p class="p1"><strong>Norman B. Rice</strong>, board member of Casey Family Programs, Opus Bank, and Northwest African American Museum. Former CEO of the Seattle Foundation, former president of Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle, and former mayor of Seattle.</p> <p><strong>Waylon Robert</strong>, Lobbyist & Fundraising Coordinator for the City of Hoquiam and Board Member of the Grays Harbor College Foundation. He has worked for Justice Steven Gonzalez, Representative Derek Kilmer, and Councilmember Larry Gossett.</p> <p><strong>Jared Smith</strong>, former Director for the Seattle Offices of the Waterfront, Strategic Planning, and Transportation Policy and Planning; Regional Transit Manager; Northwest Regional Manager for Parsons Brinckerhoff. Smith has served on the boards of the Seattle Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Seattle Association, and Futurewise, and more recently worked on earthquake relief as a volunteer engineer with Nepal SEEDS and Engineers without Borders.</p> <p><strong>Matt Watkins, </strong>engineer at Lockheed Martin. Former mayor and city councilmember of Pasco and 4th generation Washingtonian. </p> <p><strong>Evelyn Yenson</strong>, former city planner in NY and Seattle; former director of Vancouver EXPO '86, WA State Lottery, Washington State Department of Licensing; former board member of Seattle Chinese Garden, Seattle Colleges; and Pike Place Market Foundation; former member and chair of WA State Ethics board; currently serves on Washington State Pardons and Clemency Board.</p> <p><strong>Bill Youngs, Ph.D.</strong>, Chair and Professor of History at Eastern Washington University and author of scholarly books including <em>The Fair and the Falls: Spokane's Expo '74</em>, winner of the 1996 Washington State Governor's Writers Award.</p> <p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Board Emeritus</strong></p> <p><strong>Dorothy H.
