from the <a href="http://web.archive.org/web/20230603170502/https://sciencebasedtargets.org/">Science Based Target initiative (SBTi)</a>.</p></div> <div class="text-content-page-builder"> <p>The SBTi is an internationally recognised partnership between leading environmental organisations to provide a clearly defined pathway and independent validation for businesses looking to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at the pace and scale necessary to avoid the worst effects of climate change.</p> </div> </div> <div class="header-container container page-builder-block"> <div class="intro-text"> <h3 class="heading-page-builder">Working towards a greener future</h3> </div> </div> <div class="standard-text-container container page-builder-block"> <div class="text-content-page-builder"><p>To ensure that we have a clearly defined pathway to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, limiting global warming to well-below 2°C, the SBTi have approved our ambitious near-term targets to reduce our carbon footprint by an average of 50%, not later than 2030, including the indirect emissions from our value chain.</p> <p>“Supporting the UK’s most important transport and digital infrastructure means that reducing our carbon emissions is a business imperative. These ambitious targets demonstrate our commitment to delivering our critical services in the most sustainable way possible, to provide maximum value for money to our customers on a whole-life basis”, said the QEHS Director at Telent, Anmarie Landi.</p> <p>This builds on Telent’s impressive progress to date, including a <a href="http://web.archive.org/web/20230603170502/https://telent.com/news/telents-sustainability-success-recognised-by-industry-leading-rating">Silver sustainability rating from EcoVadis</a>, placing the company in the top 25% of assessed organisations. Since 2010, we have also reported our climate change performance through the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the global environmental disclosure system. Telent has committed to working in partnership with our customers and suppliers to deliver a range of environmental initiatives. One of the first was our <a href="http://web.archive.org/web/20230603170502/https://telent.com/telent-meet-the-buyer-2023-green-solutions">Meet the Buyer event</a>, where we asked both existing and potential suppliers to showcase their innovative goods and services that can help reduce our carbon footprint. </p> <p>We will hosted a virtual launch webinar in May with over 150 suppliers to share our carbon management strategies and offer advice. This is part of the 100 hours per year of Procurement resources we have committed to building our suppliers’ capabilities in sustainability and social value.</p></div> </div> <div
